I have to hold my hands up and declare something of a distaste for people who bang on about good spiced rums and then tell me their drink of choice is Morgan Spiced. Now I've been a (dark) Morgan fan for 13 years, but the spiced tipple is a mess of washed out vanilla with all the complexity of a damp rag, which sadly, the new Sailor Jerry recipe has also fallen prey to. Chairman's Reserve however, is superior in every aspect.The drink itself is smooth and inviting, tempting you for just another sip, one more glass. A mellow hit of cinnamon and cloves, underscored by (NOT drowned in, that is important!) a subtle wave of vanilla. This gives way to notes of orange, with an aftertaste of nutmeg and raisin,

Very, very good. Has enough character to enjoy it in mixed drinks, and is smooth enough to be a decent sipping rum. It kind of straddles the fence between the two. I consider it a very good start into the world of rum.There was a problem on second order though. 31DOVER mixed up safety box labels before sending them out to be stored at amazon fullfilment centre, and as a result I received a box labeled as Chairmans Reserve but containing Darjeeling Single Estate Gin.Luckily enough the problem was quickly sorted out (via live chat with customer support), money refunded, and since the item itself is a nonreturnable fragile grocery, I got to keep said bottle of gin. As a frequent spirit drinker, I’ve been around a few spiced rums and really enjoyed them. However this one stands so head and shoulder above the rest in taste, that I can’t believe it isn’t talked about more or more expensive.With subtle caramel and cinnamon flavours and full of life, it’s actually one of the smoother spiced rums I’ve had. It’s great on its own or even with coke and plenty ice & very moreish. It can often get a bit sickly after a few spiced rum & cokes, but not with this one.In a vast collection of spirits, this is the one spiced rum I will always ensure is in my collection, even if I do go through it a little too quickly!

Deliciously smooth. Sweet without being sickly. Unlike some spiced rums the vanilla isn't overpowering and there is no synthetic bitterness. Instead there's a complex and well-balanced mix of spices. The base rum is clearly of a decent standard and that shines through the flavouring to give a drink that's plenty good enough for sipping, but makes for a tasty mixer as well if that's what you're after.There's lots of cheap, nasty swill sold as 'spiced rum' that's barely palatable even when mixed with soft drinks. This isn't it. Try the good stuff.

I’m currently on my third glass from receiving it today, I didn’t mess about. Before I submit my review, I am by no means any type of connoisseur!After trying Bumbu rum, it’s now my aim to try and source all the others out there that meet and exceed that standard (on a mere peasant budget it’s probably not that difficult), this was my first successor. BOY is it good, the aroma just sucks you in, pleasant in the mouth with a real soft after tone as you neck it.I would 100% recommend this, I love it!

I never write reviews however I had this as a birthday present. I've currently tried a few different spiced rum and this blows them all out of the park.I drink it with coke and a slice of orange.Sweet but not too sweet.Rich but not too rich.Just the right amount of tang as you'd expect from a short.For anyone that drinks rum this will be your new favourite once tasted. I guarantee.

We found this rum whilst on holiday and searched for it when we got home and it is a lovely rum- we have tried a few and this is our favourite- we are just about to order our 3rd bottle personally and 2 of our family members enjoyed it as a Xmas present. Price is fair + Postage and delivery is good too, packed well. Highly recommend.

I have tried a lot of spiced rums, some more expensive than others and personally I think this is the nicest one I have tried so far and perfect balance between taste, quality and cost. It just tastes superb quality and is enjoyable to drink neat. One to "reserve" and savour over time, if you can resist temptation.

We originally bought a bottle while in St Lucia and there's no turning back. Very sweet and nicely spiced, and mellow enough to drink neat without burning your throat like a cheaper rum would.The only problem I have with it is that my friends enjoyed it too much, and now I need to buy another bottle!

I first experienced this spiced rum whilst on my honeymoon last year; a tasting tour in the rum distillery on a tour of St Lucia introduced me to this little wonder.I have a 1/4 of my bottle and left and finding this product on here has definately put a smile on myface I will be ordering very soon!

No better Rum for Rum old fashions. In fact there's no other use for it in my mind. Wasted with mixers and not quite up there for sipping. Substitute this for your bourbon and you'll never look back.(If you've never tried it in an old fashion before then you're welcome!)

I have taken a long time to write a review on this because it was a present. Only now have I visited the recipient and got feedback and had a taste myself.I am a white rum person really. But this is super. The blend of spices on the rum is one to savour.

Best spiced rum on the market , smooth taste no smokiness.Sweet tasting vanilla flavourings and goes down far to fast.if you haven't tried it then you really are missing out , don't buy just 1 bottle you'll regret it just buying 1 trust me.

This is my dad’s favourite rum, so when he ran out it was a no brainer to order. In my opinion it’s good value for money for the quantity and free delivery for prime members was great, even arrived one day before it was supposed to!

My partner and I first tasted Chairmans reserve spiced in St Lucia at the distillery where it's made and we've been hooked ever since. We bought a couple of bottles form the distillery but had to buy more once we got home.
