I was given a shot of Pyrat at a rather posh do and fell in love with it. I did not realise a rum could be such a rich, warming and "cheerful" drink. I thought substances inducing this sort of warm + pleasant feeling were all illegal. It really did bring a smile to my face.The host told me that it was "reassuringly expensive", being far too posh to actually say how much it had cost him. I found the best price was via Amazon, and saved £10 on the bottle. I am not too posh to say it cost £40 with postage.Worth every penny. I usually but a bottle of good single malt when passing through airports. This is better value and I cannot imagine anyone not not feeling honoured to be given a drop.

I’ve had two bottoms of this when on holiday and is one of the nicest rums I’ve tried and I’ve tried quite a few. This is best served over two blocks of ice in a short glass rather than mixing it although the sweet honey and slightly orangey flavours would compliment a dark and stormey - ginger beer poured over ice, two shots of Pyrat reserve on top and a squeeze of lime... yum!

I gave this to a friend for Christmas to add to his rum collection (yes, an actual rum collection- he's Cornish). He was thrilled with it! The bottle is so nice and has a snazzy metal tag on it as well. I cannot comment on the taste as he's probably going to keep it intact like the rest of his collection (sorry). But I would recommend this to any rum lover and/or collector.

This is my favorite drink and I have been hooked since the first sip, its not like any other rum but its not fair to say its not a rum.Because of the barrels its aged in you get an heavy orange hint but its not overpowering.This has to be the smoothest spirit I have ever triedTip, try drinking it neat while eating a terry's chocolate orange.

If you're like me , a rum lover, this is the ONLY rum worth drinking. I've been drinking rum for the past 50 years and I've tried oh so many. Drink straight, no mixers but occasionally I will put a slice of orange in the glass. Just magic. I discovered this 10 years ago and it has become my prefered rum. Cheers.

Pyrat XO is a gorgeous rum, smooth and layered with loads of flavour it is a rum to drink on its own or on ice and not to mix which would be a waste. Highly recommend this to any rum lover

This rum has a lovely, distinct and refreshing taste - the slightest hint of orange. Despite having tried many different rums including more expensive ones, I tend to return to this one.

I drank this and within a month of buying this I had packed in my job and set sail on the high seas.......shiver me timbersDecent rum would definitely buy again

We like this. Very drinkable and not overly expensive. Shame about the amount of items they put around the neck to try and make it fee more authentic

tried this rum in Angulla the first time. Firstly i was greatly disappointed but allowing this rum to air, changed everything! What a great taste.

Lovely bottle, very strong orange flavor. It's different, but if you give it time it becomes friendlier. Barely any aftertaste, very smooth.

A very deep flavour rum. Lots going on, doesnt have the over powering alchahol smell that some of the cheaper rums have. Simply delicious

I purchased a bottle of this rum as my husband received one as a gift and he and the family like it so will hide this one until required.

Excellent rum one of the best produced and one of the lesser known in the market. It is velvety smooth with no harsh after taste

Lovely rum, very smooth, didn't notice the citrus notes as per other reviews.Great packaging and delivery on time.
