Firstly, can I question the 'Single Grain' nomenclature. I stand to be corrected, but I suspect that a 'single grain' is not a single malt, so I suspect it is a disguise for a blended whisky. (Who in their right mind would mix a single malt with cola?) Now putting that aside for a moment this whisky is a pleasant surprise. It turned up in a Whisky advent calendar which I received as a gift, miniatures of 25 different, very good, malts mainly. So bear in mind I was tasting it in amongst 25 other whiskies throughout December, This one was very different, but nice different. I drank it on the rocks, just a couple of ice cubes, and it was as smooth as silk. Very mellow, vanilla and caramel flavours.Needless to say I found many other whiskies in the selection with a much better pedigree, but at this price, £15 a bottle, it is exceptional value, and so I snapped up a full bottle! Its a bit heavier than a Speyside, more flavour and smoother than a lowland malt, and without the smoky peatiness of the Hebridean malts. A great whisky (without trying to sound alcoholic) for everyday drinking. A very nice little nightcap, without the 'burn' that you can often get from cheaper whiskies. If you like to keep a few different whiskies on your shelf, I can recommend this. There are better malts, but most start at 2-3 times this price. This does not cheap or rough, its smooth and very drinkable !

This is one of my husband's favourites and so I thought I would order this for my sons birthday as a change from his usual. It is a mellow whiskey and although I really don't like whiskey, I was able to actually sip this (my husband wanted me to try it to see the difference) without burning my mouth. It is mellow compared to most whiskeys so if you want a strong tasting drink, this will probably be bland. My husband has had a variety of whiskeys over the years and so can actually make the comparisons with experience. The reason for four instead of five stars is that the day after I purchased this at £21.75, it was reduced by over £3.50...out of principle it annoyed me but in general it varies in offers between £15 and £25.A very good whiskey...but only if you don't expect a strong bitter taste.

This is a beautiful single grain whisky, with a smooth flavour and great after taste on the palate, which is why I have given it a 5 star rating. At £16, the price represents great value compared to the normal retail of around £22 in Scotland (probably cheaper in England which has no minimum pricing policy). However, it is spoilt by the bottling. Owing to the short neck, the whisky is not delivered smoothly when pouring, especially when full, resulting in spillage. Compare this to a normal wine or spirit bottle with a long neck and you'll see what I mean. But the real problem is the tight metal screw top. It's so firmly screwed on that it has to be gripped with a wet cloth - very off-putting.So,overall, a great drink - if you can break into it, and pour your first dram dribble-free.

I like to try all types of whisky/scotch/bourbon and so forth, Highland single malts being my favourite. This is probably the 3rd time I've bought this bottle and will continue to do so. For those nights when you want a smooth refreshing whisky without drinking neat/with water and don't want anything too strong or tasteful, this is my go to.Whilst I am not a massive fan of it neat or on the rocks, this has to be my favourite whisky to mix. I have tried it with Coca Cola (Diet and Zero too) as well as Pepsi, diet and Max. Its always the Pepsi Max that keeps bringing me back. Introduced a wedge of lemon to it and its further improved the mix - just give it 15-20 minutes to sit with the mix andfizz before the flavour really hits.Easily my favourite whisky to mix so far!

This was bought for me as a Christmas gift and Amazon were selling it throughout November and December for £14.50. I have been buying all of the whiskys Amazon have had deals on since Black Friday. I have literally about 40 Whisky's right now that I have been trying and comparing. This one is one of the best of the lot and has out-tasted whiskys I have bought for twice the price from Amazon.I strongly recommend you buy this whisky. And if you can get it for £14.50 again sometime in the future, it is one of the bargains of the century. The next time this is on special offer I will buy another two bottles to make sure I never run out.Trust me, this is a really nice whisky and worth everyone having in their cabinet.Especially at the price point it is sold at too.

I've bought a fair few of these and I'll be frank. This used to be a massively overhyped, overmarketed product. Because of this, it suffered. I priced itself into a range of whiskies that were far and away better. I never touched the stuff. Then I see it for sale on Amazon for £15. For this price, it is a great whisky. Yes, the colour is pale (hint- that's why the bottle is blue) and there is a noticeable lack of depth of flavour, but simply put- at this price range it blows the competition out of the water. For £15, you'd normally be looking at low-grade supermarket own brand whisky. Granted, if you feel like shelling out an additional £3-5, you can really up the quality.Still,my initial point stands- you'd be very hard pressed to find something better for £15.

Well ... a REAL surprise here. I purchased this bottle because it was the dying hours of Amazon Prime Day, so got this for a pretty good deal. And, I must confess, that I've steered clear of this brand because of the so-so reviews and - dare I say - the link with Beckham. But, I was quite surprised. The taste was smoother than expected and while it still wasn't quite equal to my own watermark (Paddy's Whiskey), it was still very enjoyable undiluted. I don't think I'd recommend if the price breaches £20.00, but if you can get it there or there-abouts, I'd say it's well worth it.A pretty good unsullied sup and a very good mixer for the price (if said price is reasonable). Recommended.

I started buying this when it was launched in supermarkets a few years ago. At first it hit the shelves at £30 and honestly it wasn't worth that, but it's unusual blue bottle justified me trying.Normally, I'm a smoky malt man. Occassionally I like a scotch on ice instead. My go to whisky in times when air travel was possible, I bought Johnnie Walker Double Black; exclusive to Duty Free . But I can say that this Haig whisky is superb for the money. Poured over big chunks of ice. My only criticism is really a compliment. It is way too easy to drink. I have bought several of these in succession over the last couple of years.Good job Haig for a bourbon cask tot!

I bought this as a gift for my partner as he really likes Haig Club Clubman. It’s a single grain malt whiskey that’s meant for mixing. We’ve both noticed a slight nutty aftertaste to it which we both like. This usually retails for £25 in supermarkets, which is majorly overpriced, but I was able to pick it up for a more reasonable £16 on Amazon. Bear in mind that taste is subject: however, my partner claims that Haig Club Clubman isn’t as harsh as Jim, Jack or Red Stag which is why he prefers this, even though he also loves the others. I prefer it too because he snores less loudly after a night of drinking of this.

In Scotch terms, this is a guilty pleasure. It was released at £25 and the critics mugged it, quite justifiably. At that price, it competed with Chivas Regal and some of the discounted malts and that didn't work. If you can get it at around £15-17, it makes sense and is a good competitor for lower end Bourbon. If you like grain, this is decent. If you can get Chivas or Johnnie Walker Double Black for less, go for that. This is not high art in Whisky terms. It's a good burger rather than a fine steak.

This is a plain low budget whisky but it does have a certain quality. I keep this on the shelf to mix with ginger beer and bitters. It's great for that. It is not complex by any means but it's perfectly drinkable straight. Personally I'd reach for something else on the shelf. I have no idea what single grain means other than the obvious. Malts and grains? I don't know the difference other than I know blended whiskies normally mix malt and grain in different proportions. It's OK for what it is.

This is a very fine single grain (as opposed to single malt) whisky. it's very pale in colour, straw like, and a mild and yet distinctive taste. Mild is probably the wrong word.personally, i like to have three or four different whiskys available; a really peaty malt, something in the middle and this one. a bourbon is always welcome in my sideboard too. it wont be to everyone's taste but if you like a range of whisky, depending on your mood, then this is a must for your collection

I like the whisky, it tastes great and goes down easy. It was let down by the packaging. I don't mean the bubblewrap or cardboard box, I mean the actual bottle. It had leaked about half a shot of whisky into the bubblewrap bag it was in. It's a damn shame really, because the whisky is very nice and at a very agreeable price point, but it needs better packaging. Maybe packaged similar to it's older (more desirable) brother, a cork might give a better seal.

This is my 2nd bottle of Haig Clubman after having being given a bottle as a Christmas present. I usually go for a Johnny Walker Red, Famous Grouse or Grants blended scotch as my slurping Whisky but when on offer this is much nicer tipple.Normally for blended scotch I add a mixer such as dry ginger but the Haig Clubman I can easily drink neat like a single malt. When on offer this is a cracking bottle of scotch to stock up on. Highly recommended.

Ignore the negative reviews. There's no such thing as a good tasting whiskey. This is a solid drink though. Nice and strong, a bottle should send you merrily on your way, just like any other whiskey. Why waste £50 on a bottle of whiskey that tastes the same as this just because you pretend they taste differently. This bottle will protect your wallet and get you drunk, there's nothing else to say.Add coke cola for added taste.
