Really like this rum and it's probably one of, if not my all time, favourite rums. I really should buy another bottle to be honest as I've run out!It's kind of got a slight coffee taste, or maybe more like a mocha taste.. well that's what my tongue can taste anyway, each to their own. I love the little hint of coffee and it's really smooth. I like my rum with a bit of Pepsi Max and rarely drink it straight, although this one is rather good straight, it's not got a strong alcohol taste.I'm no connoisseur, that's probably obvious! But this rum is really tasty and I wish I could get it from my local supermarket. The bottle is cool too so makes a great gift.

Firstly this is a really tasty drink.... BUT.......Please remember due to new laws that there are differences between pure rum and rum based spirit drinks... this is the latter! It is very tasty... a dark brew and has coffee tones. I’ve seen reviews saying great “rum” for the price... it is not rum.... it is a rum spirit based drink... therefore it’s a great tasting rum spirit at a fair/higher price. If you like similar rum based spirit products like kraken and black magic ... (yes they are not pure rum!) this is for you!It’s not rum but I give it 4/5 for taste!

Not bought from Amazon but wanted to review. As soon as I smelled this, it reminded me of Halloween and Bonfire Night immediately! It has a taste similar to my Nan's treacle toffee, with a slightly smoky finish, it's very sippable. Better on its own but works really well with cloudy apple juice and a dash of angostura bitters. The rum connoisseur may not appreciate it but if you're open to different flavours, this is a lovely drink.

Opening the bottle: Cork/plastic stopper, always a good sign to me although not foolproof. Kraken has a screw top and that’s the bench mark in spiced rums.Aroma: From the bottle it smells a bit chemically but in the glass? Wonderful, that dark roasted smell you just can’t put your finger on.Taste: summed up in two words “Bloody Delicious”.Will I buy it again? YES

Brilliant, however.... The newer batch which is bottled like this is clearly a darker rum than the earlier batches which were very clear gold rums.The flavours now seem slightly more noticable with a smokey hint. If you like Havana anejo or bacardi gold rums this will open your eyes. An absolute world beater at the price.

I used to drink the Kraken until I discovered this. It makes an amazing Deep and Stormy, very smooth and nicely spiced, not too sweet or too dark (some rums you mix with ginger beer and they look green) not Balla!The bottle is gorgeous too, the only downside it is too tasty, the bottle needs replacing too quick.

After deciding to have a cocktail night we wanted some white rum for our pina colada cocktails and so glad we chose this option.* Love the name for a giggle* Tastes really REALLY nice on its own or mixed* Super strong as well - really dont need to add much to your cocktailsWould recommend!

Hadn't tried this for a while then saw it on Amazon. Usually drink it with coke or ginger beer depending on my mood but i tried it neat out of interest and was amazed how smooth it is. So tried it in a mojito and it was great, lots of rum flavour. Will be using this as my mixing rum from now on.

I would have given a better review but I was annoyed as, despite getting a text saying that this was going to be delivered in the morning, it didn't arrive until after 6pm. Despite providing photo ID, the first one was rejected, despite the visible fact that I am over the age of 18 years.

This is a lovely rum - has a bit of a treacle taste which I like. I bought it for a friend's birthday and we made him open it so we could all try it (well what's the point of buying a nice bottle of rum if you don't get to have a taste yourself! :-)I'll definitely buy it again

Subtle yet sweet. Very moreish. Will certainly be buying again. As its only 4% strength I add a little of extra wray n nephew rum to give it that tipsy kick. Arrived on time and excellent packaging no breakage.

Very drinkable. Very dangerous. An easy tipple for a cold dark night. Flavours of cinder toffee, brown sugar and slightly smokey. Gives you a nice warm hug and goes down very easily. Always a bonus!

Definitely my favourite rum! The only one I buy now. With a bit of a burnt molasses taste, which makes it so sophisticated and different from other rums. I drink too much of this... Too much.

I love this as a mixer, I add this to pure rum. I can't be bothered to make rum punch so this is a quick alternative. The bottle is big, I think it is 1 Litre. I will be buying it again.

I've tried many different rums (Deadhead, Captain Morgan's, Krakken, Dead Man's Fingers, etc) and this is by far the best tasting rum I've had so far.
