Glenfiddich 12 takes quite a bit of stick from whisky snobs and the only reason is because it's one of the best-selling malts in the world so it can be considered as a whisky only for beginners or the not very serious single malt drinker, it is indeed a very good introduction to malt whisky but it does not deserve the criticism it receives because this is an excellent whisky. We all have different tastes so of course there will be those that just won't get along with it but anyone that says this is a poor quality whisky doesn't have a clue what they're talking about or is probably just getting too caught up in elitism rather than the appreciation of the spirit. The most prominent flavour which I think no one can deny is fresh pears, there is also a fair bit of vanilla, some floral notes, I also pick up a slight touch of Bourbon which I don't find that often in single malts despite the fact that they are matured mostly in ex-bourbon casks. I also notice a sort of cereal/grainy, almost earthy element to it which I believe comes from the way Glenfiddich heats its wash still's, which is the traditional method known as direct firing that very few distillery's still do because it is not as efficient as internal steam heated coils but it does contribute to the flavour. There are some sherry casks in the mix but the influence is quite subtle on the nose and palette, however, it's on the finish where the use of these casks really shows up the most. It has to be one of the best and most interesting developments to the finish of any of the younger malts (up to 12 years old) I've come across. It isn't quite up there with the best whiskies I've had up to 12 years old or that can be got at around £25 - £35 (such as Bunnahabhain 12, Highland Park 12, Glendronach 12, Springbank 10, Glengoyne 12 & An Cnoc 12) and that is mostly because it is designed to be easy going and non-intimidating to appeal to a wider range of pallets. So it's not quite dynamic enough to be considered among the best of the entry level single malts but it's a great dram and always very enjoyable whether you are completely inexperienced or a connoisseur.

Without purchasing the express delivery the item was delivered to my doorstep in 2 days. The whiskey itself is amazing, no doubt. The price discount you get from ordering the bottle from amazon and from purchasing the good from your local shop is not that big of a difference (mine was 3 sterling I believe). But everything was the way it should be - Smooth and aromatic malt scotch whiskey with amazing taste. I haven't yet tried the 15 year old collection of Glenfiddich but I can't wait to give it a roll. The price is good, the taste is one of a kind, even the box of the bottle had a good presentation to go with the whiskey. Very happy with the product !

I thoroughly enjoy the occassional glass of scotch, which I drink either neat, of with a dash of water. I have never liked blended whiskies, which seem to me to have sort of kerosene after taste, but I like Speyside single malt scotches. Of them all, this is my favourite due to the taste, which simply suits my palate (as you can see, I'm not trained in describing these things!) If you like Speyside scotch, and haven't tried Glenfiddich yet, I urge you to give it a go, as I doubt you'll be disappointed.Naturally, the older varieties, are even better!

Probably the most famous single malt whisky in the world. It isn't what you would call an exciting whisky, but it is a good whisky, simple, tasty, affordable 12 years old scotch. Which is exactly what most whisky drinkers want. The nose is a bit soft and mushy. It's easy and accessible with sweet malty flavors, make it a pleasant drinking experience with a fantastic finish. It is my favourite in this price range, go to whisky for sunday evening. I recommend to everyone.

Very good introduction to single malt whisky at a very competitive price. It's a text book Speyside from the heart of the region. If you want to know what Speyside whisky's are about you can do no better than this. If you like what you taste you can graduate to more sophisticated examples and prices! Oh and one final point. This whisky has a wonderful nose, but to enjoy it at its best add just a few drops, don't drown it, of cold tap water.

I had never bought a Scotch online before as I would always pick up one from a shelf of a local superstore. This was the first time I ordered it on Amazon. The product was delivered super quick (within hours of ordering). And the product was well packaged. As for the flavour, well...Glenfiddich can't go wrong. I prefer it "On the Rocks". Every sip of it is a burst of perfectly balanced fresh fruity flavours. Love it. Will surely buy again.

Amazing whisky. Have been trying a few single malts lately, even tried the glenfidfich cask selection from airport not long ago but wasnt overly impressed, well when i poured this 12 yr old into my new glencairn glass i must say the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Fantastic. Simple as that

As ever a great dram , good price but even better on offer.Only trouble is that it goes down too well and before you know it half a bottle is gone.Just a honest lush single malt that’s not taxing on the palate for even a newbie to whiskey drinking.A great place to start your whiskey journey !

I really love this single malt and this is the most readonably priced I have found.Nothing beats curling up at the end of a stressful day with my glass in my pjs all cosy melting the worries away.Well worth it. Will be buying again...and again... sure you get the picture

Having said I didnt like Scotch I tried this as a good friend had given it to me as a birthday present. Ive wasted alot of time its lovely. My only criticism is it is hard to put down and it is easy to drink a third of a bottle unless you are strict. Highly recommended.

I've tried many whiskys from expensive ones to aldi/asdas own. Glenfiddick is without doubt the best in its price range from 20/30 pound. Even the whisky snobs love Glenfiddick 12 years. Its just great tasting, smooth, easy to drink with good quality aftertaste.

Really glad this was on offer because it's fairly expensive usually for a casual drink. This is my go to whiskey to drink neat. Would highly recommend if you are just getting into drinking whiskey like me. It's not too strong of a taste but is still very nice.

Arrived way ahead of the delivery date in time for Christmas I was really happy with the method of packaging (heavy duty printer cartridge bubble wrap ) came with a beautiful real leather and metal keepsake case will definitely buy again when I can

Supermarket price £35, so get this now before it changes price. Honestly you cant go wrong with this whiskey. Unless you drink too much of it in one go. This is a present so will be greatly received because they love this whiskey
