It just came yesterday and I’m now trying it out. It fits inside a standard sink with an inch open on each side. The color is great.. white with gray tipped spokes, seems very sturdy as it’s rigid. So it will not bend like ordinary plastic mat. Over all I like it but can’t speak to its durability, or ease of cleaning.. I have no dishwasher so I can see that it might be hard to clean between spokes if you let it get overly soiled or grimey. The one drawback that see as an issue is that it lays flat when it actually needs a little lift on one end so water drains out insteading of pooling. Of course if you don’t insert it into sink, you won’t have a problem lifting and draining.I set mine down inside sink on top of another rack. Then corner utensil holder if fitted and wired onto bottom rack in corner. So very humbug to pull out after each use to remove standing water. Hubby fixed that by laying a piece of something under one edge to give a slope to back...that helps.. but he may have to drill a hole on one corner to let all water escape.. not sure yet what I want. Over all , I love this thing but it does need tweaking to make it work for me. It is high quality and a bit pricy compared to the 5 dollar ones sold locally. But seems to be durable and last a long time..plus it hold plates and saucers in either direction..UPDATE... DECIDED to keep drainboard rack.. really like it . I had hubbu drill holes at one end , every other groove , and now water drains off...so it all good.. plus lifted the opposit end by half inch.. worked out fine. Did not crack or splinter when holes were drilled.Maybe the company will do that also?..

Although we are a two-person family, I like to cook, preserve food, and make kombucha and yogurt. We don't own a dishwasher and we don't have a lot of counter space. OXO to the rescue (again)! This self-contained rack/drained holds a surprising amount, while keeping a low profile and reducing visual clutter in the kitchen. Not only does it handle our normal dinner dishes, it really shines as a rack for canning jars and for the flip-top bottles I use when making kombucha. It is 13.5 x 10.25 inches with about an inch between each prongs - which are super strong and do not bend. If I let water sit in the rack, it will eventually discolor, but it cleans up easily with hot water and an old toothbrush.Update July 2020: after 4 and a half years, it’s becoming harder to clean thoroughly between the grooves. I’m ready to switch to a flat, cleanable drain tray for daily use and will keep this as needed for drying bottles and jars. Overall, it was a good value and has held up well, but I’m knocking off a star for a design that makes difficult to keep clean.

This is an excellent dish rack. My dishwasher consistently fails to dry the top rack items so I desperately needed a drying rack. I love OXO's other kitchen products so I decided to try out their dish rack. Once again, I was not disappointed. The pegs make it easy to dry oddly shaped items (e.g., plastic containers and lids) and the flat end is good for drying utensils. My dishwasher often leaves spots on my utensils so I wash them in the sink and dry them on this rack. The rack is easy to clean and I don't need to clean it very often. I always worry about dish products with sneaky crevices for hiding disgusting smells but this product is smooth and nothing gets left behind!I will note that this is the compact version which works perfectly for the amount of space I have in my kitchen. Persons with larger kitchens or homes with several occupants may want to look into a larger version. This is perfect for my little apartment and my dish drying needs!

It holds plates, glasses, cups etc brilliantly - those spikes are very effective. The ribbed base is good for keeping drying items away from the puddles. You can use it on a normal worktop because the water doesn't drain through, it sits in the ribbed tray (good for some people, not so good for others - I would prefer the water to drain through.) BUT all this means that the ribbed tray gets dirty very quickly - the water collects, evaporates and leaves limescale which cannot just be rinsed away and it is near-impossible to get between those spikes except with a bottle-brush. Then the spikes are hollow (why??) so when you turn it over (eg to drain)you realise that the hollow spikes have collected gunk which is impossible to clean manually. So into the dishwasher it has to go - once a week at least.Still, I have looked and looked and cannot find anything better! Designers, please put your best people to work on this!

We have a double-welled sink, and we use one side for washing and the other for drying. The shape and material of this drying rack is absolutely perfect for this. The pegs are sturdy, so can hold any weight we’ve given them (including heavy skillets) but also tipped with a soft latex, so we haven’t had any trouble with it scuffing dishes or leaving marks. Moreover, the fact that there are pegs versus “slots” (as in a typical dish rack) means that we can put anything upright to dry, securely and with no worries. Wine glasses and cutting boards in particular have been a big problem in the past on “traditional” drying racks, always falling over. No problems here! Also, you can dry kitchen knives with no worry of cutting yourself, as the pegs stop your hand if you’ve laid the blade between them.10/10, favorite gadget I’ve bought for the kitchen within the past year. Absolutely will recommend to friends- and to you!

This is well-made, neat and can be put away when not in use. It is tricky to clean because of the grooves and 'spikes'. I am trying to avoid needing to clean it, as such, by ensuring that I drip dry it before putting it away each time.Overall, I am very pleased with it. (This was written after a short period of use.)Now ( several months later) I am still really pleased with its function, but the difficulty of cleaning it - because I have hard water and the limescale is a brownish colour and looks awful - is getting me down a bit. Use a chopstick covered with a cloth to clean it, but even so, it is fiddly and does not get in all the little crevices. If I were to buy it again, knowing what I do now,I would definitely go for a different colour, one that wouldn't show the limescale so much.I would give it 5 stars for function though, so if you have soft water, I guess it wouldn't be a problem.

When I ordered this I had, for some strange lack of reading comprehension on my part, thought I was getting one of their older model fold down drainers. At first I was disappointed when I opened the box, but I decided to use it anyway. Since I wash all my dishes by hand and leave my draining pad out all the time, I replaced the pad with this drainer, and I love it! It's small, but large enough to hold a dinner for four setting. Of course I have to put away dishes frequently, but I have come to prefer washing and putting away a little at a time rather than waiting for everything to pile up. I now wash dishes as they are used and put them away as they are dry.If you are looking for a small drainer, this is a great little thing to have. It has a raised lip around the entire drainer so you don't have to position it over the sink to drain water.

I love this dish rack because it is compact and clean design. This compact dish rack is very versatile and can hold all of my handwashed items that could not be put into the dishwasher. This is one of the best buys that I made in the past couple months. I do wish it has a small utensil holder though, like the OXO Bottle Rack. And if OXO could make its dishrack out of recycled plastic, that would be perfect! I tried to avoid using plastics in my daily life, but it seems I still have to use plastic for the dishrack because my compact bamboo one got molds and stainless steel ones got rusted. This is the best simple dish rack that meet my needs and could last for a long time.I just wish that more big companies that make good and durable products (like OXO) could invest more in using recycled plastic in their products.

I looked long and hard for a drying rack that would fit my homebrewing needs and I'm happy to say that this one fits the bill perfectly!I use this for drying beer bottles, growlers, home brew parts and more. Does exactly what I needed it for and it is Star-San safe.So far, I've had success with:- 22 oz. "bombers" fit fine when placed inverted over each "pin".- 1/2 gallon growlers will fit when placed inverted in the middle of four pins.- 1 gallon jugs/fermenters will also fit when placed inverted in the middle of four pins. Bonus is that the tip of the jug doesn't actually come in contact with the rack.- Wine and beer glasses fit fine.- Wide-mouth stainless beer growlers,no problem.- Misc equipment used for brewing (hoses, valves, caps, strainers, bubblers, etc). all work great.

It's a bit expensive, and oils/grime will show well as other warn. However, this is perfect for my handmade ceramics (mugs, bowls, cups, etc) that are irregular, personally valuable and fragile. The rubber tips are both flexible and sturdy, so they can hold anything and I don't have to worry about them falling over. The tray is a bit small (which I prefer, but won't work for most people as a primary drying rack) and seems a bit expensive for what it is. It holds several mugs or bowls, but can't hold a whole dish set. However, after a little bit of searching, I couldn't find anything this cheap that works as well for what I needed.Very pleased with this purchase.I would highly recommend it for people looking for something like it, but would caution with the caveats I mentioned above.

Really pleased with this little dish drainer. Very unusual construction but it works much better than the more common arrangement. My only reservation is that it might be a bit on the small size for a family, but ideal for an elderly couple on their own like us. It`s nicely finished off, strongly made, and allows a lot of variety in arrangement of your plates, cups etc. No more wiping up with an ever dampening teatowel - everything is drained and dry very quickly. The construction makes it very easy to keep clean, too.Upon reflection, although still pleased with it, it`s actually HARD to clean unless you use a pastry-brush or something similar - it really should have had wider drainage channels to make it perfect.Having used it now for two years, it`s otherwise as good as new.

Pros: Simple design, good looks, easy to clean, good for compact kitchens/households/as an additional draining space.Cons: Placing plates across the grooves keeps them out of then draining water but means they lean a fair bit which is a little annoying as it gets in the way of putting the next plate in to drain. Putting them the other way means they stand straighter but then the edges of the plates touch the drained water (obviously this depends on the style of your plates, I have those ikea squarish plates).Too small for 4 pax family if used on its own.Bit expensive for what it is.I’ve still given this 4 stars because I still think it is a good drainer and because the “cons” are only such dueto the style of my plates and family size.

I recently remodeled my kitchen and wanted a small drying rack. Originally I tried a collapsible one with hopes that I could stow it away most of the time. Of course, dishes constantly sat in it, and the silicone mat underneath kept the countertops wet. I then purchased this rack. OXO Good Grips is one of my go-to brands. This rack does not require a mat underneath it and you do have to occasionally drain the water. Yes, it is small but it will force you to dry your dishes and put them away! I use an extra drying mat or the stove for oversized pots. This rack is perfect for drying water bottles.I love its minimalist design and that it can permanently sit on the counter without taking up much space!

A streamlined rack that doesn't take up loads of room. It works really well in our (smallish) kitchen and is discrete and subtle. Agreeing with other reviews, due to the ridged design, it does tend to collect water and this does need wiping occasionally, or putting through the dish washer to clean in. We considered drilling small holes to help with drainage, but actually it is quite helpful that it retains all the water as then you can put it on any side. So for big dinner parties, when we wish to use the draining board for glasses, we can put this rack on any side without concern of water damage. It's only a drying rack, but I couldn't be happier with it. Fully recommend!!

just what I was looking for, not too big, but holds a good amount of dishes. I needed something that wouldn't take up too much counter space since I don't have a lot. You can put it in the dishwasher to clean it (top rack) so easy to clean, and I've only had to do it twice the past few months i've had it. It actually dries pretty well and doesn't get nasty build up if I just leave it upside down in my sink. The only thing I'd change is for the pegs to be a bit more spaced out so you can put more on it, but then it probably wouldn't be as small. So overall a great find! (and seems really durable, its lasted me 5 months now and seems like it will last a long time)
