Sistema microwave egg poacher- 4 eggs............This is a red plastic tray with 4 wells mounded into it, in each well sits a white plastic basket with drainage slots, sitting on top of the tray is a clear plastic lid with a red handle.Use......To use you simply fill each well with water to the mark ( lukewarm water is required, the best way I found to achieve this is to fill with water and pop in the microwave, minus the lid, for a minute ) a room temperature egg can then be broken into each well, th stop is replaced and the whole thing is put in the microwave to cook...it is suggested that 1min 50 seconds is needed to cook 4 eggs in a 900w microwave, with the time being increased by segments of 10secinds until the eggs are cooked to your liking.I found that to get a firm white and runny yolk on all 4 eggs actually took 3 mins 30seconds.This tells me that some trial and error is needed to work out the best timings for your machine. After cooking.....................After cooking the eggs they simply slipped out of their baskets onto my waiting toast...I found it best to rest each basket on some kitchen paper to absorb any poaching water as each egg was still slightly wet after removing from the poacher.Washing.............I simply washed with warm soapy water, nothing stuck or needed scrubbing so it was quick and easy.Issues.......Being a 4 egg poacher this is fairly large and getting it into my rather small microwave took a little twisting and turning, however once inside it was fine and the turntable was able to spin it around without a problem.

This is a great (four egg) egg poacher for the microwave from Sistema and perfect for a family where at least a couple of people in the family like poached eggs. This microwave egg poacher is very well made from some sort of extremely thick and robust plastic material. It is solid and should last a very long time, it is also dishwasher safe. There are full instructions provided with the egg poacher which are easy to follow. Basically you half fill the individual poachers with water, place on the lid and bring the water to a simmer in the microwave. Remove the lid and carefully break an egg into the water of each poacher.Replace the lid and cook on full power for a specified amount of seconds (most microwave wattages are covered in the instructions.)The only problem with this is that there are many factors to consider when trying to work out the length of time to poach any particular egg … whether it's cold from the egg or room temperature, what temperature exactly is room temperature as everyone's house differs and not forgetting the size of the egg. This is what I found works best, crack the eggs into the already simmering water. Cook on full power for 1 minute 30 seconds and have a quick check, then continue cooking for between 10 and 20 seconds at a time until done to your liking. This worked fine for me.The eggs once poached are really tasty and exactly as poached eggs should be. It slips from the poacher easily mostly without sticking and the poacher is easily washed in warm/hot soapy water or in the dishwasher. Both methods work equally well.

The Sistema Microwave Egg Poacher is a brillaint tool for getting the perfect poached egg from you microwave. With excellent timing, now that we have the all clear and certificates to prove it that eggs are Salmonella free it's great to be able to go back to runny eggs again. What most people including me would like to know is1.Does it produce great poached eggs easily and2. Is it easy to wash and keep clean. The simple answer is Yes to both. But if you need more info read on..There is always the trade off great tasting eggs but messy to clean.I'm really happy to report that with a bit of practice and know-how you will be able to cook the perfect poached eggs for yourself. All you do is add the eggs, put cold water in and bang in the micro wave.Serving and draining is as easy as ABC.Now eggs come in different sizes and microwave ovens come in different wattages. You will have to work out the best combo for yourself and bear in mind if you keep your eggs in the fridge they will need longer. The real benefit of this device is that it is really easy to clean and you can bang it in the top (cup) shelf of the microwave to clean. So that neatly ticks both boxes for great poached eggs and easy to clean. Now most savvy Mums know eggs are one of the better foods for babies, toddlers, and kids.Quick full of goodness, Omega stuff and the like. With this well designed and robust tool you will deliver quick and easy meals in minutes then bang it in the top shelf of the dishwasher to clean.Great.

I cooked two medium eggs perfectly, solid whites with a runny yolk, using the following method.Microwave power: 900W;Medium eggs: 2 x 60g (approx);Eggs were taken from the fridge and were cold.INSTRUCTIONS1. Fill two diagonally opposite baskets with cold water to the fill line marked on the basket;2. Place the empty poacher into the microwave and heat using 100% power for 1 minute;3. Take the poacher out of the microwave and crack an egg into each basket;4. Place the poacher back into the microwave and heat for 1m:30s, using 50% power;5. Check the eggs: the whites should be solid.Adjust the time for your microwave, but stick with 50% power. The eggs are cooked when the whole of the white turns solid; you should just about be able to see the yellow of the yolk. If the whites are runny, use 10s increments on 50% power and check again, repeat until the white has turned solid. If you like a solid yolk then cook for a bit longer on 50% power using 10s increments. Remember, the eggs will still cook when they are in the hot water, so take this into account to get your timings right.TIP: Always use 50% power when cooking eggs, otherwise the outer whites will cook too quickly and will become rubbery, and the centres will be under-cooked. You can apply this method when cooking other foods or liquids: turn the power down a bit and cook things for a bit longer, and remember to stir things halfway though.

OK I got this morning, so we had poached eggs for breakfast. So after reading some of the reviews I was thinking this could be a real waste of money? How and what I did?1 boiled kettle2 filled poacher with hot water3 put in microwave 1 minute4 put in two eggs in trays5 put in two eggs without trays?6 cooked for 2 minutesThe eggs came out soft yoke not runnynext ting Ill cook for 1.30 minutesAsk others have said the egg can get stuck in the tray I think water will have to be rolling boil to stop this? The other two eggs done with out trays, came out great took out with plastic spoon that came with my slow cooker just the right size. The eggs was nice shape soft not runny, but not hard yoke.I filled the no tray half way with water, next time Ill use less 1/4 fill.I have had my breakfast, me and the other half, she dont like poached eggs but made her try one?Her words... wow you know me I dont like poached eggs but they are really nice, I would have them done like this and eat them for breakfast when you cook them or even tea time with bacon beans.I do think you have to try different timings for you microwave no of this I have a 800watt and cook for ???? that dont mean a thing not ever 800 watt microwave is the same, or any other wattage are the same differ by make as well.test test try try you will get it right in the end.

My only initial disappointment was the size, as much larger than expected, and finding homes for everything in the Kitchen can be a pain!!.. Didn't regret the purchase, as achieving poached eggs the traditional way is always a faf, so not an everyday dish... but we started having poached eggs frequently so made a purchase!...Thus is great, pop on 1,2,3 or 4 eggs, and within a minute or so depending on quantity you have perfect poached eggs.. as others comment timing is hard to judge, but give it 60secs then after that give 10 second blips, as there's a fine line between nice runny poached or basically a hard boiled egg ?..But didn't take much goes to get sorted,it's never going to get as good a result as old traditional methods, purely as microwaves tend to cook inside out, but with practice you get pretty close!!..Not too bad to wash either due to been made of plastic, just the actual egg holders seem to hold egg white in the slots, but I clean straight away rather than letting the egg weld itself too!!So poached eggs are no longer reserved for the weekends, we now quite regularly have poached egg & avacodo on toast, even though were up early and out the door for work/school... big bonus kids love poached eggs too!! Just not the avacodo lol

have poached 4 eggs, 3 eggs, and mostly 2 eggs, all with good to very good results, good results were at the first time of using, by the second time it was very good/perfect for me as soft yolk and hard white. For me I used boiling water not luke warm, this prevent majority of the egg white from leaking between the slots as it immediately starts to harden in boiling water! I also fill the water higher than the line shows for large eggs, reason for this is all down to the yolk, if you microwave without the yolk/full egg being covered the yolk will be hard. Also remember size of eggs does mater in the timing,I nearly always use large eggs but sometimes Organic eggs which tend to come in random sizes often.A couple of times there is a small amount of egg white left but has always come off quickly when cleaning, have never used oil or anything with this unit, which I recommend highly, better to undercook when first using and getting the timing right for number and size of eggs you are using, can always give it 5 or 10 seconds longer if needed until perfect. It is quite large but does fit in my microwave but if you have a small microwave recommend you go for a 2 egg one rather than this.

I buy a lot on Amazon and very rarely review - but this is more of a user guide since this is the first place I came looking when I was trying to figure out how to use this god damn thing.Firstly - I have always poached eggs in a saucepan using the cling film method. You won't get eggs quite as good if this is what you usually do, but they aren't far off once you get it right. And it's a LOT easier.Until you figure it out, don't do 4 eggs at once - you will waste a lot of eggs. I know the cooking time increases if you then scale up but it's going to take two or three goes so bear that in mind.Use warm or hot water, not cold and you need about a tablespoon per pod - ignore the fill line.I found putting a spray of the low cal oil spray on the plastic cages helps with sticking. USE MEDIUM HEAT - seriously. I'm one of those people who chucks everything in the microwave on full and never looks at the packet - it won't work, don't do it. Use opposite sides if you're doing two eggs. For me, 2 mins on 50% works - but it will be different for everyone.I would say if you eat a lot of eggs and aren't out for perfection, it's worth it. Good luck!

This is good for what it does, but I'm actually finding it better to cook frozen vegetables. For eggs it works well except that your microwave has areas that cook well and ones that do not (its to do with microwaves setting up an interference pattern in the oven, which leaves pockets with no heating power). This may leave your eggs unevenly cooked in some cases. The trick I've discovered is to quickly stop the microwave oven half way through and move the poacher. Simple! On to the vegetables. Frozen vegetables are far cheaper and more convenient than non-frozen, and because they are frozen as soon as they are picked and also because vegetables do not lose their nutrition through freezing and are washed well before freezing (so no residual pesticides),they are actually very healthy compared to non-frozen.I use the 4 sections to heat up two veg for 2 people (myself and my partner), The sections have little pull out sections to lift your eggs out from the water, but I find they also make great inbuilt colanders for your veg.So, good for eggs, and probably even better for frozen vegetables!

Sistema Microwave Egg PoacherI really rate Sistema products, and bought my first one (a Microwave Steamer) back in May 2012. It is used every single day and apart from the clear plastic having gone a bit yellow, it is perfect. The only Egg Poacher I have ever used is the old fashioned metal ones with the little cups that are suspended over the pan of water and have a metal lid.• This Microwave Egg Poacher is a great idea and gives a nice moist poached egg. It is so easy to use and to then serve the eggs once cooked. It may take time to get just the right cooking time on the microwave, but practice makes perfect and takes nothing away from the product.I store my eggs in the 'fridge and will probably only be cooking two at a time so this all has to be taken into account with the timing.• The cardboard band that is round the Poacher, gives all the information you need to use the product.• The RRP at time of writing this review is £9.99 which I feel is a fair price for this quality product. I can thoroughly recommend it and poaching eggs versus frying, them makes for healthy eating.

It's taken me a while to understand how this cooks eggs without explosive consequences, but 25 odd years ago, you had to pierce the yoke with a cocktail stick to prevent splatter.Basically if the egg is fully immersed in water then it won't blow up.Haven't managed to get the yoke to my runniness liking, with the white being fully cooked, but it's not a bad compromise and I can pop the eggs on with a not quite cooked time and do other stuff without worrying about a pan boiling over, or the eggs over cooking,Unfortunately, further web searching has led me to find instructions for cooking eggs in their shells in the microwave - again, eggs need to be fully water immersed, but I've seen one method that says to cover in aluminium foil - might buy a hard hat before I try that one.*** edit - in my 900W microwave, 2 medium eggs cook almost perfectly on medium for 70 seconds - yolk still a bit too set, but I don't want runny white. It's a good idea to rinse away any stuck on egg white straight after cooking, as it is much harder to get it off when cold and set.

At last something that you can use to make poached eggs easy. You have to use in your own microwave to judge how long it takes to cook to your liking. Depending on how many eggs you use depends on length of the time it takes. Don’t overfill with water. I have found if you use cold water it takes longer. So I use boiled water. And I fill all compartment irrespective of how many eggs I am cooking. When cooked I take out and take baskets out of water turn round and balance on top of the space so the water drains off before serving. I find it is best to put timer on microbe and take out check and I’d needed put back for 10 seconds at a time. Rather than put more time on and then find out they are not as soft as you like.towards the end 10 seconds makes a big difference. So until you get used to time required go for less time and learn your timings on your own microwave. Once you have mastered that you will find that making poached eggs is a doddle. Easy to clean. Arrived prompt well packed. Can recommend.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago, so far I’ve only used it twice but I’ve been impressed each time I’ve used it. I read reviews before I bought it and someone said the instructions tell you to use luke warm water but they found its best with hot water. I boiled the kettle and used hot water from the kettle. We have a 1000 watt microwave, so it said in the instructions to amend the timings based on the power of the microwave. So the first time, with hot water from the kettle, I put the eggs in for 1 and half minutes, the eggs that were cracked into the water first were still a bit runny in the middle but starting to get a hard yolk. Still very good though. The second time i did the same but only put them in for 1 minute and 20 seconds and they were perfect. Also it’s very easy to clean, so much better than trying to clean, what seems like super glue, off the inside of a pot. I love this product. It’s one of my best buys ever and I would recommend it to anyone.

I've never been brave enough to poach eggs in anything but a poacher pan – you know the type – pour water into the pan, put the top bit in with the four little cups. Even then it's still a matter of timing, and I don't always get it right. So I thought I'd give this a whirl....The instructions (on the removable paper band) are clear and easy to follow: pour water into the cups, add eggs, shove into the microwave and switch on.As microwaves come in different wattage, and eggs come in different sizes there is a certain amount of guesswork with timings, but once you've juggled around a bit you should get good results, if not all of the time, then at least most of the time.Next important thing – cleaning.Easy peasy – chuck it in the dishwasher after removing any eggy bits. Or fill with water and put it back in the microwave. This is a real winner – my old poaching pan will now be donated to a charity shop.

Made from sturdy, BPA-plastic, this egg poacher delivers a quick, nutritious breakfast or lunch in a matter of minutes. There's no fiddling about: all you have to do is fill the cups with lukewarm water to the fill line, crack the eggs directly into the trays, and microwave until you get the desired consistency.I tried it two ways: cracking the eggs into a cup before pouring into the trays vs. just cracking them straight in. Both ways work, but the latter way works best as the yolk sits in the middle of the white. The first time I used it, I poached two eggs for 1 minutes, 50 seconds (the stated time to get runny yolks). But the yolks were hard, probably because the cooking time for two is faster than if you're poaching four.A minute on the full setting gives much better results for two eggs. It's easy to clean, provided you wash it up straight away. A handy piece of kit that will get a lot of use!
