With everyone in our household working different hours there aren't many days when I don't need to plate up a meal for someone to reheat when they get in.I've used cling film for years to keep food fresh in the fridge and protect the microwave whist reheating it. But the cost of it over time does add up and I am concerned about the risk of chemicals crossing over from the cling film into the food. When I saw this plate cover on Amazon I thought I would give it a go and I'm really pleased that I did.Pros:* doesn't touch the food, unlike cling film, so less risk of chemicals crossing into food* keeps microwave splatter free (but so does cling film)* retains moisture in food so it doesn't dry out

First thing I did was take the label off no problems and no sticky residue.Having examined the cover in the plastic so to speak.I think I would have preferred taller than 2 inches although it covers the pasta bowl with out touching the lid, I mostly eat from.I’ve now used it a few times it does it’s job but isn’t ideal for bowl meals were the food is above the bowl definitely needs to be an inch taller.I bought it manly to save me constantly cleaning the inside of my microwave, it does that.I don’t think I’d buy it again but only because of the height.It’s fine for heating plated food, and I know it’ll be useful to cover cooling food in hot weatherFrom reading the reviews I do feel the product information is badly presented,

This fits over my largest dinner plate and is the largest that would fit in my microwave. It's much more useful than the smaller one I used previously. Also, I like the adjustable vent in the top. You can leave this closed, or open it by degrees until it's fully open. That allows it to handle a wide variety of foods. It seems to be good quality and durable.Note: this product does not appear to be dishwasher-safe.I've docked a star simply because of the label that comes stuck to the product and covers half of the top. The glue on the label is not water-soluble so it's a huge headache to remove. I still haven't been able to get all of the 'sticky' off mine. I understand the need for labelling,

I've been able to cut cling film usage down by around 50-70% with these. They are strong and easily washable. You can reuse them many times without washing on most occasions. It's good being able to use them first in the fridge and then in the microwave. The vent is also useful. It's removable for cleaning and means that you can protect from germs in the fridge and then open in the microwave. This is pretty obvious but then some covers have open vents around the edges which aren't as good.There are some small issues with them. Water does build up on it and then when you remove it it spills out on to the floor if you're not careful.

This little item has proved to be a little gem, no, not a small lettuce,but a really useful item to have in the kitchen.When I think of the miles of cling-film that I must have used,covering food prior to re-heating in my microwave, not to mention the time spent cleaning the microwave itself.Faster than a speeding bullet, this item was delivered in perfect condition. I use it every day, it has proved to be a gadget that is actually used, rather than put on a shelf and ignored.All I can say, is, if you are thinking of purchasing one of these, JUST DO IT!!!

The product itself is great as I don't need to buy cling film ever again. I didn't give it the full 5 stars because it arrived 2 days late.I have a lot of their microwave gear now e.g. vegetable steamer, saucepan, egg poacher and have found them all very useful. I'm currently a final year (Accounting) Uni student and I'm upset that I didn't get these products last year. For any other students out there who are sick of living off takeaways, then I fully recommend these products; it's fast and easy to clean, can't ask for more.James.

Does what it’s supposed toHowever it only just about fits the plate would have preferred if it was a bit bigger to sit over the plate as it sort of balances on plate and can easily fall off when putting in the microwave. And as many previous people have commented that the sticker on the top doesn’t come off very easily and is a bit annoying .But overall does the job sufficiently.Did take a while to arrive though ordered a few different items they all came and then this took about a week longer for such a small item .

This will not sit on a 10 inch plate. It completely covers it. It is eleven and one eighth inches across and sits over the plate and stands on the surface the plate stands on. Because of this the height to the plate surface is a bit limited. A big dollop of mashed potato or a piece of cauliflower will touch the top. But it is nicely made and I can still find a use for it. If there was a version that really would stand on a 10 inch plate I would certainly order it.

A reasonably priced article which arrived promptly .At 11 inches diameter and 2.2 inches high it covers a dinner plate, so that the food is not touched . Semi see through .2 gaps to allow steam to escape safely .So far, any food stains have washed off . You grip the slider on top to take the cover off the plate . It works very well .Another Amazon success !I recommend this Kitchen Craft plate cover .

Having read some of the reviews, I was worried about deformation of the cover. Fortunately i've not suffered or experienced this issue which others have highlighted. I'm guessing it must be related to the strength of the microwave? This cover is currently being used in a 900W microwave, it fits perfectly over plates, and works with bowls too. The vent on the top opens sufficiently to allow steam out.

All these items are pretty useful in the kitchen and for children. My granddaughters love playing with it. The only weakness is there are no instructions. When I opened I dint know hot to use pens as they dint work, what to do. My granddaughter knew about some things but not what to do with pens. Microwave is fine. I have not use combination yet but will try today.

Nothing annoys me more than a microwave encrusted with baked on splatters of food. It's simple - either you cover the plate with clingfilm, taking care to pierce the surface several times to let the steam out OR you use one of these excellent plastic covers. Popped over the plate it saves the mess and is safer and more hygienic. Every home should have at least one.

I've had to request a refund because its bigger than stated and doesn't fit in my microwave.However, its a decent thickness, would otherwise be easy to use and easy to clean. Were it not fir tge size discrepancy ot would have been great so I've set 4 stars.I've just returned from hospital with limited mobility so thankfully a return less refund was available.

Excellent thick microwave cover. Definitely not suitable for smaller microwaves though. It does not move with the turntable, getting stuck on the sides instead. I have 2 micros but can only use this cover in the bigger one . Shame, because it is only a little bit of extra and unnecessary "edge" on the rim that makes it get stuck in the smaller microwave oven.

It's about the same size as my dinner plates. It fits in my modest microwave and does it's job. I like it. BUT..! As others have said the glue underneath the peeled off label is a bugger to get off. That is until I googled it and got a surprising result. Cooking Oil. A spot of crisp and dry left on for five minutes before rubbing away the glue worked a treat.
