Hubby and I decided to buy walking boots for Christmas, we don't go hiking as such but after a hip replacement I like a sturdy boot for when I take the dog out in local woods and fields.A friend recommended Merrell Moab Goretex but I stuggled to find the goretex style in my size (3) and also the prices fluctuate a lot from week to week. I went for this FST ICE+ style because it was a reasonable price in a smaller size. I could only find a 3.5 but it's a perfect fit.At first I thought these looked a bit plasticy at the side of my hubbys goretex ones but they are SO comfy. We booked a late deal to Iceland last week so the boots were put to the test, and they passed with flying colours. We were out all day in -8 temperatures and deep freezing snow, my feet were toasty warm and I didn't slip at all which is a big deal for me as I'm very scared of falling.I don't know how waterproof they would be if you were hiking through wet terrain, the toe inside felt a bit damp at the end of one of the days but they had been in snow for about 6 hours which is extreme and not normal conditions. For me the grip and thermal lining is more important, they feel comfortable, warm and sturdy and I'm delighted with them.

I like that I ordered that Half Size extra to allow for my Woollen Socks so my feet will feel comfortable after wearing them all dayI like the Colour of my Boots and how Lite they feel when wearing them inside the House before use later in the yearIt would be good if the Boot was supplied with an extra pair of LacesI noticed that my Boots didn’t seem to have as many Special Blue Markings for the Icy Grip as In the Photos or as with my Husbands BootsWhen Walking on the Ice latter in the year We Hope it will give us Great Results after all their hard work & Research

I love these boots!I usually wear a size 15 wide, due to a AFO I wear on my right ankle and custom orthodics in the right. I ordered a regular 15 hoping it would work, and I have to say after a small break in period the boots are great. Plenty of room in the toe box and very warm and comfortable. They seem to get great traction with the Arctic Grip feature, but to be honest i haven't had a lot of ice to experiment on. I'll probably buy a summer version of these also. I highly recommend the boots!

Ive thrown waterlogged slippy mud a d icy patches at these beauts and they havent failed me. My only annoyance is that i didnt get above ankle versions but as a lightweight trainer substitute they’re so comfortable and deal with the elements well- but they’re not really for puddles, as they’re too low. Didnt have to wear them in which is a big bonus, and the general foot support is excellent. They are very grippy and i feel confident going out in all weathers in them.

Even though they were just slightly smaller than I wanted, and I ordered one full size larger, still love these boots especially with the special non-slip Vibram soles with Arctic Grip. These soles are a life-saver in the snowy state I live in. Great feature to add to a nice boot. Now, get your sizing a bit more uniform. Love Merrell but they have been leaning to 'Small" sizing lately. Don't like guessing sizes when it comes to shoes/boots.

I read alot of reviews before I bought these. They said they run small so as a size 9, I ordered a 9 & 1/2 and it fits fine. So far so good on the ice and snow. I walk a large Malamute/Husky mix 4 times a day at an area that gets snow and ice in Winter. Plus I live on a hill and the sidewalk gets slippery and icey so I needed a boot that was good on snow and more importantly ice. So far the tread on these boots have done the trick.

Great boots with decent soles for walking on frosty/icy pavements. Brilliant deal from the seller so I bought 2 pairs.Amazon's estimated time of delivery was comedy gold as usual, starting at 12.15 and eventually arriving at 22.15 that evening, when they then expected me to click good or bad, which means absolutely nothing to anyone, but of course tries to open their website yet again....spam filtered now.

super comfy and fits well. keeps feet dry and warm in snow. easy to wipe clean, great on snow and ice so far but seems like any other boot on traction so not sure on black ice or really icy conditions. I try avoid those but have used on snow and ice walking to and from car and very happy with them. little stiff at first but after a 1-2 weeks the are broken in really well.

Stellar grip in the ice and snow. Freezing rain followed by snow is common here - and I have a steep driveway. These boots stick better than anything I’ve used in the past. Inspire a lot of confidence where I would previously be walking timidly. Warm and thickly insulated. You may want to buy a half size larger - remember you’ll probably be wearing thick socks!

I bought these because Merrell is a good brand and these boots have the new Arctic grip.I live in a state that is snowy and icy in the winter. Don't want to slip and fall. I am an older person and fearful of falling on ice.The boots fit perfectly, will have to wait to see how they perform in slippery conditions. I am happy to have these boot

Light, warm hiking boots. Very comfy. I ordered my usual size and they fit perfectly, but may be a bit too tight for thick socks (although I can't imagine wearing thick socks in them). Unfortunately, despite the description saying so, they are definitely NOT high rise so I had to return them as I was looking for something higher and sturdier.

Last year in the middle of January 2017 I had to walk on ice to get to a substation door, dark, cold and -10 at night.I walked on Ice without even a hint of a slip and I’ve worn many work boots, these are the finest.Wore them again today on ice and no issues - this is my 2nd pair, you will want these for every snowy trip!

This is my 2nd pair of these boot. My first pair lasted 2 years, and i use them nearly every day, all 4 seasons. I do ultramarathons in the, hike, walk and jog as they are so light and comfy.I am putting away my £2 coins to buy a 3rd pair to save as I found these so hard to get hold of at a reasonable price. I do love them

A hideous looking shoe (in black) that’s almost a boot but not quite high enough at the ankle to qualify. Grips well on ice. Warm. The insulation makes it a tight fit. I normally take 11 to 111/2. Bought this in a 12 and it’s just big enough. Worth having but if you can get your size in any colour other than black, do so.

19.12.2020

Overall an excellent show with a great sole. However massively small, I’m a size 10 everywhere and had to exchange the size 10’s in this boot for an 11.Other than that, warm, comfortable and reasonable cost. Well worth considerationUpdate, returned the size 11 due to the narrow fit and will buy a different brand
