They are not much heavier than trainers. The mid-sole is rather thin so I use thick shock absorbing insoles. I bought one size larger than normal to allow for them & my wide feet. The laces need tying very tightly & with a double knot because they do slacken during a walk. The knobbly tread grips very well but made tiny holes in the legs of my waterproof overtrousers - I suspect the wind was flapping them around. In boggy terrain I was careful to not step in anything too deep because they are not very high at the ankles. After a walk the insoles & my socks are dry (in leather boots they are sweaty). So far I have worn them on grassy hills & mountains in chilly weather & they were ideal.

Absolutely excellent. A great fit, even with thicker socks on. Comfortable, very lightweight, tremendous grip on all terrains so far. Will definitely wear them until they fall apart, which could be some time as they are exceptionally well made, robust springs to mind.

Great boot. Very lightweight and the grip is the best I've tried so far. Being a seasoned walker finding boots that will grip well over wet slippery surfaces is always a challenge. However, Merrell's with Vibram soles offer tremendous support when you need it most.

Great boots for walking I have 3 pairs of the boots and a pair of shoes they are waterproof and light and defanetly comfy mostly walking around race circuits on grass and mud

Lovely walking boot and really lightweight. It is waterproof and I just hope it continues to be waterproof.

Very snug, lightweight but reasonably robust walking boots. Great for trails and hills, not for mountains.

Good lightweight shoe really comfortable, spot on size.Only used them to walk the dog so far

Good, but even smaller than regular merrell, which are a little small to begin with.
