The only question is why all the other manufacturers, Nike and Asics in particular, don't copy this really good leather top design. The shoes are confortable and mud capable. Unfortunately, because they remain very open on top they are not good to cross watery paths. Also, they could be made more comfortable and more durable but not at this very low price point.Here are some truths about size and obsolescence in shoes from all commercial makers. With my previous Merrell Intercept shoes, which had lasted me a number of years and had been heavily abused/worn down, I was so impressed with how sturdy/comfortable they were that I decided to trust the brand and get a new pair of Merrell shoes.I am extremely glad I did - I've only worn them for a day but they are so, so comfortable and built like miniature tanks. I'm sure they will last me as long if not longer than the others and I am now pretty much a Merell fanboy! Time will tell though.Like my previous shoes, I'll be wearing these every day other than for work as I find these shoes give the best all-round performance for every day life.

I've had these for a year now, so feel ready to give a fair review.COMFORTThis purchase followed a happy year or so with Merrel walking shoes, which I loved. If anything the boots were more comfortable than the shoes. Following an operation on my toe last year these have been a godsend. I have wide feet and after buying a size up (same size as my shoes) I am very very happy with the comfortWATERPROOFINGDropped a star because if this. I do get wet feet after a long walk in damp conditions. I have been used to full leather walking boots so my expectations were high.BUILD QUALITYI haven't given these boots a particularly hard time, but they seem to have been resilient to knocks and scrapes.

I bought a pair of these a year ago and could not lavish enough praise on them...perfect in every way. 10 out of 10 ranking (or 5 out of 5 in Amazon-rankings.) I recently bought a second pair in the same size that I've worn my entire adult life (10.5 medium width usa measurements, same as my first pair.) They were too short. I exchanged them for an 11, and, they still feel a tad too snug, although I'm going to keep the 11's just because I suspect getting an 11.5 will result in exchanging them back down to an 11. I don't know what is up with their sizing but I've never had a 10.5 shoe that is too short. If you can get around the sizing, it's a wonderful urban hiking/ trail hiking shoe.

I already have this model shoe in size 9 from two years ago and I have been delighted. But one of the insoles wore out and, annoyingly, Merrell UK do not supply replacements although they do in the US. So I decided to buy a new pair of shoes - same model same size. Now I always take size 8 in other brands of shoes but when I bought my first pair I sized up to a 9 in accordance with the general advice in reviews. Perfect! I have loved them. But this new pair in size 9 for some reason must be subtly different because they are tight in the toe box. So, back they go. Merrell really need to sort their sizing out.

Fits my feet very well which are thin but wide at the front toe area. Soft and comfortable with great grip in the dry. However I did slip a bit on wet smooth hard ground where I didn't slip when wearing harder, tougher soled walking shoes in the past. Perhaps this was because they were new but the squishy soles at least are springy and comfortable. Good value on amazon and light shoes. I will wear them most days so I'm concerned if they will look as smart in a years time as the leather is quite soft but I am very happy with them right now.

Have been wearing Merrill hiking shoes to work for years because they are so comfortable. The Moab style has a more work look with the same comfort. I got two pair for brown and black type clothes. I put the brown pair on as soon as they came and by the end of the day, they felt like I had worn them for weeks. Three times a week I also hike for two miles on pavement. Will use my Cameleon Merrell hiking shoes for back country hiking.

I have had a pair of Merrell Annex walking shoes for many years, but the cushioning inside the shoes has worn out, although the outsole and upper are still in good condition. I am confident that this pair (Moab Adventure) will be just as good. When I am out walking for the day I like to be confident that my feet will be comfortable and dry. If anything, I think the Moab adventure are actually more attractively styled.

COMFORTWide fit which was what I was looking for. Great for short/medium walks.WATERPROOFINGLeather always offers better waterproofing & these shoes have been good at keeping the water out. Treat with Dubbin on a regular basis & they should lastBUILD QUALITYSeem to be lasting well. Had them 1 1/2 years with minimal wear & tear damage. I like the finish, but they were a bit darker than I had expected.

The pictures do not do the shoes justice. Almost like a micro-suede. Perfect for walking around the city (even raining) or wearing to a business casual event. Very comfortable and fit perfectly. These just arrived a week ago, and I already bought another pair, as Merrell likes to change the colors. The black really makes a great everyday shoe. Highly recommend! Merrell, please offer a black shoe every year!

Merrell boots and shoes are excellent quality and give great support to the foot when walking cross-country. However they do tend to be slightly small for the size marked, for example a 13UK is more like a 12 and a half UK. This does create a problem if you are wearing thick hiking socks. I will buy Merrell boots and shoes again, but next time I shall buy one size larger than I need.

Comfortable and doesn't look too much like a trainer so more suitable to wear with a skirt than many walking shoes. I need a small man's size for walking comfortably for long distances so always find it difficult to find suitable walking shoes and sandals. These we good on the first long walk and seem sturdy and waterproof though they haven't yet been tested in heavy rain.

I have terribly flat feet. And i've tried several cheaper shoes for working around our farm in the summer. they were all poorly made and the arches collapsed very quickly. Although around $100 per pair, Merrell Men's Moab Adventure Lace Waterproof Hiking Shoe are fantastic!!! Thank you for making such a high-quality product and for keeping the quality up all these years!

I had a size 13 pair of these, but my toes were uncomfortable. Recently I had started buying Size 14 of another brand, and based on that success, ordered a size 14 of these. All the difference! As one ages, the feet spread out, so don't order the size you're always been without trying the next size up. (I remember when I used to wear a 10 1/2!)Very comfortable walker.

Bought these for an upcoming Alaska cruise. I've worn them a few times to make sure they fit well and feel good on my feet. They do! I'm a woman, but need an 11 1/2 shoe. Those are like finding gold if you can find them. So, I resorted to buying a men's shoe for this purpose. I need something for wet, cool weather that supports my flat feet. These shoes are perfect!
