I wasn’t sure if I had made the right decision when I ordered this Dimplex Electric Stove because it seemed quite expensive compared to other stoves on the market, but I was persuaded by the positive reviews and I am so glad I took the time to read them. The stove looks fantastic and fitted into our little space perfectly, looking as though it had always been there. The effect is very pleasing to the eye and when the light is on, it looks very much like the real thing. We have recently downsized into a very small apartment and this was what was needed to provide a focal point in our living room. It stands out for all the right reasons and I am amazed at the warm feeling it provides when just the light is switched on.We purchased this stove in the middle of December and haven’t yet needed to turn on the heater because it feels so warm just seeing the logs or coals burning. When the heater is switched on, it only emits a very quiet humming sound, which is not distractive to me.The stove comes with the logs fitted and I asked my husband to try installing the coals instead. I had read that it can be a challenging job to change the logs, but my husband followed the instructions and used the supplied plastic glove to put the coals in place. Even with the glove on, he still got covered in the black dust, but he had been prepared for that and had placed an old towel on the floor to protect the carpet. He actually found it very straight forward to complete the change over, but I think I preferred the stove with the logs. The logs are higher up and fill the stove a bit more and I personally feel they look more realistic because parts of them appear to glow and flicker when the light is on. I think I will leave it a while before telling my husband I want to revert back to the logs though, because he wanted the logs to remain in the first place! The high polished effect does mean that finger marks stand out a bit, but it’s worth the extra polishing because it is such a stunning effect. I think that this stove looks very contemporary in my living room and has provided me with the desired effect. I decided to order a chimney and hearth which has completed and enhanced the overall appearance. TI think this stove is worth the money and I am a very happy customer.

This is a lovely fire and well worth the money paid for it. It is solidly built and is quite heavy at approx 30kgs. The finish is a perfect gloss finish and really sets things off a a focal point. There is a slight hum coming from it as mentioned by others, but this is only noticeable if you stand right next to it and have good hearing, but again barely audible. The remote unit is very easy to use just the one button the press for display and heating and one to turn it off. I have left the log effect in at the moment, but did try the coal effect as others have said that it is a little tricky to remove.The trick is not so much of a complication but the need to handle the log effect fairly carefully as it is not too robust and could be damaged if you are a little to careless or hasty in its removal,

Brilliant "fire" at a super price. Outer box was pretty well destroyed in transit but inner packaging was so good that the product itself was not damaged in any way whatsoever. Someone needs to have a go at the despatch chain. Ours arrived in a van with driver who pretty much dragged it to the house...package weight is 38kg, I believe - too much for one-man handling without a trolley. AMAZON: you should not allow this. It is shoddy, and dangerous.The fire itself is absoloutely wonderful. It fits into our old fireplace recess beautifully, the effects are very good and the remote is a nice touch.Room even feels warmer with just the effrct on. Yes, I know, silly. When heating is on,the fan is all but silent. I rate this a "Best Buy".

Decided to buy this after reading reviews. We wanted a focal point for the winter months in our orangery. We do have underfloor heating but it's nice to see a fire. While we are delighted with the fire and our dog immediately laid down in front of it, I have to say that the packaging was in very poor state when the fire arrived. The box was torn, fortunately it was at the back of the fire. It must have been turned upside down at some point as one of the doors was off though luckily not damaged and slotted back on again.The fire itself is very realistic looking and although you can hear the fan it's not too loud. Overall, we are very pleased with the fire and would recommend it.

Ordered this in the 30th December, arrived 31st December....It's shiny, it's solid, it's of extremely high quality by a reputable maker.It's super shiny.... Yes I know I have already said it but the high gloss is stunning.For 24hrs I used it with the log effect and it looked lovely, I was very happy with my purchase.Then today (New Years Day) I thought I would like to see the coal effect...WoW!!!!!!!It is stunning!!!! So realistic.......I know it's not a cheap fire but I believe it's worth every penny, I have bought cheap and had to replace... This looks like it will last and last....Also compared to other stores this is nearly £100 cheaper

It's always satisfying when you buy something that exceeds your expectations and this stove certainly does. The flames are so realistic and even with no heat on the fire effect looks great. It gives out plenty of heat at just the 1k setting so 2k on really cold nights will be fine. Previous reviews have mentioned the noise. The noise is absolutely fine and after a while you don't even notice it. Also some reviews have said the coal effect is better. Well the logs look great and rustic so would not change. Overall this is a great fire which looks so much like a wood burning stove. So pleased we bought it.

I did not buy this from Amazon as it was a bit cheaper elsewhere. However it is an excellent fire, with a realistic flame effect. It is a fiddle to change over to the coals as back part of log effect slots up into plastic sheet. However I think the log effect is better anyway. There was a bit of noise at first but I sprayed some oil on to the motor and bit that rotates and now it is silent. To really get the effect of a fire I put a small Goodmans soundbar behind it on the floor and play a dvd of fire crackling sounds through it. It really adds to the effect of it being real.

This electric stove type fire is very attractive to look at with it's glossy black enamel coating and double opening doors. The flame effect is really nice, I have only tried it with the wood though and not the coal alternative that was supplied with it. It is so nice and cosy to look at. I really like it apart from one thing, the fan makes a noise when the heat is on, something I was not prepared for. It is quite loud but is drowned out by the tv noise when it is on so not too bad then. I bought a stove pipe too to make it look more authentic, which it does.

i have read reviews on this fire before we bought it, and when it came all the 5 star reviews were correct, delivery within 2 days, very nice driver very helpful, well packaged and the fire is just stunning, I would recommend this fire for all sorts of reason, well made, very sturdy fits beautiful in our fire place, the high gloss effect is brilliant and the heater well you just don't know it on its very quiet, the fire heats the room up very quickly and I am one very happy customer, go on treat your self you will not be disappointed well worth the money

I spent a long time considering which stove fire to buy. I went for this one because of the glossy finish. It is really beautiful. As others have said, the 'flames' and 'dying embers' can be left on without the heater. I wasn't very fussed about that until I saw them. They look so real, it does indeed give the room a very cosy feel. Surprisingly, the effect is much more realistic than a stove effect gas fire despite the gas fire actually having flames! The heater is effective and the thermostat works well. I'm extremely pleased. Worth every penny.

This is a lovely fire. I wasn't sure about the polished finish when I ordered it but I think it looks really good in real life. Have only used it with heat once and after an initial 'new' smell (which went away very quickly) it seems fine, and gives out quite sufficient heat for my dining room. I imagine I will use it mostly just with the flame effect and no heat and it certainly does cheer the room up. Seems nice quality and I notice it was considerably less expensive than other retailers that I checked around the time I made the purchased.

It it an excellent fit for my inglenook fireplace. Solid enamelled finish. Good flame effect. Excellent heat output. Quiet. Can't really see the fan heater below the fire which makes it aesthetically pleasing. Safe when my grandchildren are around. Brilliant saving on price. I paid half of what I had seen in the shops for a newer model but the only difference was a smoke like effect by placing water in a receptacle in the fire that condensed. I couldn't imagine that I'd fill it up that often so a bit of a gimmick not worth the extra £300!

Very stylish, well made electric heater. We bought it to fit in an inglenook fireplace and it looks stunning. Comes with a choice of log or coal effect which is great. The flame effect is one of the best I have seen. Noise is not an issue despite other reviews being quite alarmist. You are buying an electric convector in a fancy package. Get over it, if you want silence buy gas. We are extremely pleased and all who have seen it have positive comments. So much more welcoming than central heating radiators. Fully recommend you buy it.

After an initial issue that was sorted in all fairness very fast (and a they gave me a £10 refund), I got to say had this fire since September 2016 and we love it. Not just saying that cos they bunged me a tenner, but fairs fair, we get there in the end. It looks great in our lounge and we have it on every night even just for the flame effect that is very real looking. We do't have a chimney and do not want builders in just for a log burner, so this is second best and no mess.

I love this stove, it's big, shiny and very authentic looking. Yes you can hear the fan, but once the TV is on it is minimal - really not a bother. It comes with a choice of log effect or coal effect. The lighting is quite subtle, not as bright as advertised. Lots of visitors have commented on it, and one of them is going to buy one herself! It is pricier than some, but far superior in looks and quality. The shiny finish looks like painted enamel, but I think it is plastic.
