It took me ages to decide which electric stove to buy! Originally I had been looking closely at stoves twice the width and three times the price of this one. Eventually I decided against an expensive model with the 'mist' flame effect as they seemed too pricy and the 'mist' seemed like just one more thing to go wrong. I couldn't be more pleased with this Springborne stove. The size is ideal for my TV room, anything larger would be overwhelming. It looks good - granted the flames are not entirely natural but I am not trying to pretend it is a real coal fire. The heat will be more than enough to warm up the room if the central heating is not on. There is the fan noise but it will only be used in a room where people are watching TV and talking,

Fits perfectly into our 43cm size cast iron fire surround. By fitting it inside the fireplace it reduces the noise of the fan that some people have found annoying. The electric cable is quite short and the fire has a moulded 13amp 3 pin plug fitted.The coals are very small and it may be useful to have a pair of disposable gloves handy when placing them onto the firebed as they are dirty.Both doors open from the centre. The flame effect is good though it is not top of the range. The manual switches are located on the right lower side which could be awkward if the fire is fitted in a recess.The heat settings are adequate for this type of fire though if used as a main source of heating it may be uneconomical.The build quality is good and the fire is sturdy.

Very happy with this fire,we have placed it in front of existing open gas fire on a black hearth and it covers the original fire aperture perfectly,changing the look of the fireplace. We often just have the light and fire effect on as that's what was missing with the fireplace previously- without burning gas it just looked cold & lifeless. Now the room has life & a warm appearance,& if we put the fan heater on it takes a very short time to take the chill off. We do have central heating as background heat as well,but mostly at either end of the day. I have painted the gold knobs on the front a pewter colour,which fits in with the black & pewter surround it sits in front of,which is much more

Bought for parents to replace the need for an open coal fire as I was worried that they are not able to use it safely anymore. The dimplex heater looks very nice and has a good flame effect , the only downside is that the remote is very flimsy and broke after a few weeks, although the company were happy to send out a new one, which we are waiting for now. The control switches on the fire are very low and difficult for an elderly person to see and operate, so the remote was very handy when it was working !

Cosy flame effect looks good. Very few stoves or fires would fit the dimensions we needed but the compact size is just right for our fireplace. Looks like a real stove and having opening doors means you can change the coals layout to suit. Very quiet with flame effect only and fan heater is ok for noise too. Not sure why they put a silver dimplex badge on the front when the handles and hinges are gold, strange. Very pleased with the purchase and would recommend

We love this stove delivered the second week December with no fuss. Can't hear any whine noise perhaps the other one's aren't sitting properly. Had extra coal from old fire so it build up better. Love the doors so easy to open and close. Heater great for cold mornings. Only complaint is remote control little button to soft to press two or three tries before connects. Love it.

A really nice electric stove. Loses one star because heater is set back under the stove, so does not push the heat out into the room as effectively as a cheaper one I have. But if it is for secondary heating, and you want a nice quality item, this does it. If it's the only heat you are going to have in a room larger than say 11 ft x 9 ft I would not recommend it.

Lovely fire for the money. Good value. Quite realistic looking flames which is exactly what we bought it for. Gives the sitting room a really cozy look. It does emit a quiet hum with just the flame effect but this is barely noticeable, and not at all if you've got the tv/music on.Haven't used the heater so can't comment.

One star missing because it wasn't the size I ordered. I ordered a bigger one but when it was despatched I noticed on the email the sizes were smaller than the one I ordered but luckily it fitted my fire place not too bad. That said the fire is perfect very realistic flame effect we love it

So pleased we got this fire,fits beautifully into our fire space. So easy to turn on and off .The flames are very comforting and realistic.No more cleaning out the grate,taking ashes out and struggling with heavy coal bags.Life has become warmer,and more comfortable.

Love this. Fire . It took me a while to find the switches to turn it on manually though . It's good quality and not made of plastic I think I'll buy some extra coal to make it even better . It really hears my large conservatory well and I like the remote control aspect

Really pleased. Well packaged, came in good time (amazon prime) and looks good on or off (some have that fake white look when off and was worried this would be like that but it isn't). Have only used the fan once but use the glow every evening and it's really homely.

This is an excellent buy and just what I wanted to replace an older electric fire. It fits the space I have and looks good. Virtually silent and well built. It looks good with only the flame effect on and the heat output is very good. Good price, excellent delivery.

Stove is very effective, looks cosy and almost like the real world thing! Fan works well and overall not very noisy. I am sure it will heat up the space well when required. Had to chase up the suppliers but this was handled well and had a good outcome. Thank you

Overall O.K.What I do not like is the back is clear glass.Therefore the coals cannot be seen against a dark background which is the case for a real fire. Disappointing. It would be good to be able to purchase a larger overall size.
