Boiler broke down so I needed a heater in the lounge and wanted it to fit the space where old fire grate had been ripped out. Dimensions absolutely perfect for what I needed and it threw out enough heat to warm up this room (16' x 14' north facing with 2 exposed sides) to a comfortable temperature even when it had been a couple of days without warmth. I'm sure it would not be enough by itself in very cold weather but then again the manufacturers specifically say it's not designed for that, but just for occasional use as a 'top-up'. It makes a great focal point to the room and the fan is quiet compared with most other temporary heaters we've had - does not interfere with hearing the TV!

We bought one of these fires just over 2 years ago, to replace an old gas fire in our lounge, as we missed having a 'focal point' in the fireplace. We particularly liked the Optiflame effect on this fire - it looks very realistic. In addition, and although we have hardly ever needed to use the fan heater with this fire, we have found that it is a quick way of heating our fairly small lounge, if it is too early in the year to put the central heating on!However and more recently, we have been quite disenchanted to find that the Optiflame effect suddenly and inexplicably stopped working. Believing this defect to have been caused by dust getting into the workings,

Bought this with the Dimplex Stove pipe and the Dimplex Slate effect Hearth pad - all go really well together and for such a cheap stove, I think that the flame effect is excellent and with the three elements it looks sufficiently like the real thing but with far less cost, mess and hassle. I'd bought electric stove thinking that if it looked really bad I could always upgrade to the real thing but I won't bother, completely happy with it. If you need the heat, it heats up quickly, noise not an issue for us. One thing I was a bit worried about was that in picture of stove it looks as if you can see the fan below the stove easily but actually it's set back further than it looks on the picture and so it is not noticeable when you're looking at stove.

Excellent product must be as it's the second that we've purchased. Delivered by Amazon really quickly too.The fire effect is extremely good and quiet enough not to be annoying whilst watching quiet passages on the TV.Only two regrets - one as with the first product we purchased a few years back - that is that the remote control only provides facility to switch on and off and does not allow you to select between the two heat options or to switch off heat and leave just the fire effect whilst the fire is actually on! Arh well you can't have everything but undoubtedly Dimplex will be able to expand the required technology one day! Secondly,

Having looked at several 'realistic' fires and then read the reviews on this one,I decided to risk that it meet our requirements.This fire is, in our opinion perfect.We have found that on the basic setting it keeps a small room really cosy and on the second it heats most of our cottage, with intermittent help from the timed CH.It looks authentic and casts a lovely flame and warm glow to the room, accompanied by a quiet hum from the fan. The remote control is an added bonus once you work out how the two switches work which is not immediately obvious. An instruction sticker would have helped with this.This is a pretty good substitute for the real thing and the price makes it a superb bargain.

This stove is everthing & more than I expected.It has made such a difference to our north facing lounge,so cosy & welcoming now. Even my husband is impressed & that is not easy to do.We viewed lots of these stoves before deciding on the Dimplex.We really loved one we saw which was different make but, at £790 far too expensive for us & I thought I might be a little disappointed with the log effect on a cheaper stove.Nothing of the kind, the Dimplex is great & we love it.I was also anxious about the noise from the fan as the fire is near the tv but we have no worries on that score either. Absolutely no complaints about this lovely little stove, I would recommend to anyone.

Well, I like the fire, it's lovely and cosy and the flame effect is very realistic. A good size too, but the fan and mechanics are quite noisy but nothing too offputting.We ordered the warehouse deal and we had to screw the leg back on after we'd found a screw, then we had to repalce all the bulbs but apart from that it is working fine.If you are prepared to do a little minor diy then it's good value and we are pleased with it and also saved lots of money.The guarantee is still in place too, so you still have peace of mind.Common sense is what's needed here and we now have a smashing cosy warm fire!Thanks.

Excellent service, delivered very quickly, very well packaged. The fire is really good and has been commented on. Good weight, looks the part, the flame effect is really authentic. Heater extremely efficient. As others have said there is a slight noise when the fan is on, it as expected and not too noticeable, specially when you are used to it, you just don't notice it after time. We looked at other fires amd they just don't come up to the mark, this one is well worth the money and looks more expensive than it was. Amazon proce is also very much cheaper than many other places. Highly recommended.

A very good looking heater that really does look like an authentic wood burning stove. The flame effect is certainly more realistic than many heaters I'd looked at. You can hear the fan when the heater is in operation but it's not overpowering. The remote control is really surplus to requirements, as it only appears to work when the door of the heater is open - which rather defeats the purpose! The express delivery was worth paying for - I ordered the heater about 3pm and it was delivered at 10am the next morning by a very courteous delivery driver.

Firstly, very short delivery time - we got this about 36 hours after ordering, and we didn't use express delivery. Well done, Amazon!Secondly, the fire - admittedly we've only had this one day, but we love it. It gives our north east facing living room a lovely cosy glow, whether daytime or evening. We have tried the two fan settings, and they seem efficient and are fairly quiet - they certainly won't spoil a quiet read, never mind our favourite music or TV programme.Clearly it's early days but we are very happy with both product and service.

This was to replace an older electric stove. I find the handset switch an unnecessary extra, in fact it means it now has a permanent pilot light where there is no need. It is also noisier than it's predecessor, which has come as a bit of a shock. Design features aside though, this is a great little stove and perfect for heating a small room fast. It will be a great buy if it lasts as long as it's predecessor.

Considered long and hard before buying.Looked at many. On line and in the shops.I can honestly say this is without doubt the very best.It arrived very promptly and is really a plug and go.The flame effect is superband without the heater gives a feeling of warmth.It is perfect for what we required, the 2 setting heat is perfect.Robust and very solid. I would recommend this without any doubt.

I was dubious about buying "unseen" but it has not disappointed. It looks lovely and - so far - works perfectly!! When the heaters are on it does throw out quite a bit of heat, but I really bought it for the effect which is perfect in the setting I want. The delivery was also extremely efficient - the correct day and time which these days does not often happen!!

Attractive electric fire with authentic-looking opening door. Throws out plenty of heat and makes the room look cosy, even when using just the flame effect. The stove gets a bit overheated if set to the maximum for more than 15 minutes or so, but as the minimum is usually enough to heat the room this isn't a big problem. Overall we are pleased with our purchase.

Ordered this fire as I love the look of a wood burner but didn't want the mess. The fire is beautiful, fantastic with just the flame effect on in the evening, remote control makes it super easy too (although we find we have to make sure it's not pointed anywhere near the tv as it turns that on as well!) :-) Would definitely recommend!
