We ordered this fire online as we could see that some stores had only one or two left. This gave us the assurance that when we went to the store that there would be one there waiting for us. The fire lived up to expectations, we are using it in our conservatory . The size is perfect for a small room, and the fact that it can be moved around easily is a bonus. The flames are quite realistic and just as hypnotic! The two heat settings are good, but it is easier just to switch the fire on by hand rather than fuss with the remote ( which incidentally didn't work due to the provided batteries being flat!). All in all, very pleased with the fire and its' performance.

Only had this fire a few weeks and now in a heatwave, but love it so far.The fan is a little noisy but I soon got used to it. The remote control is okay and you can turn the heat and light on and off with it if you make sure that they are both on or both off when you initially use the remote control that day.The flame effect is brilliant and have found that the light does give off a very small amount of heat,, as well as the cosy effect that comes from the light so brilliant on nights that are just a bit chilly and the fan heater is not needed.

This is the new LED version. It’s quite nice, not big but just right in my house. Very cool to touch and quiet in operation. However once it’s on the fan heater it does get a little loud, not 11 loud but, just like any other fan heater it makes a noise, just be aware of that. I didn’t get it for the fan as I use the gas heating. It looks great and the new LED version better. I recommend the fake log burner, my sister has a real one and she likes it too. Just remember the fan does emit some noise

A lovely heater for the smaller sitting room. This was bought for my mother to replace an earlier model but what a disappointment to discover that the handset is now tiny and completely unsuitable for sight impaired elderly customers - as my mother requires care we get by as there's someone around to help usually but there are some brief periods when she's alone so I'm not complacent. It would be great to have the choice of either a slim or a more tactile handset. Something to consider Dimplex?

I retired & moved to my present address recently. The front room had a mock fireplace surround which needed something to place in it . This stove affect heater fitted the bill perfectly. although my house has hot water radiators central heating the electric heater comes in handy to boost heat and when I stay up late, beyond the central heatings thermostat controls timing schedule. The flame affect is also quite comforting when the rain and wind are making themselves known outside. I love it.

I bought this just before the 2010 cold snap and what a great buy it turned out to be. I have it sitting on a surround but it could just as easily stand alone. It looks the part and it is easy to operate with no covers or anything to lift up to get to the buttons which are conveniently situated on the side of the unit and you have the option of using the remote control. Best of all it sure belts out the heat. Even the light only feature makes you feel warm. I am very impressed all round.

I repurchased as the one I've had years (same make & model) broke. Don't get me wrong it's a GREAT little fire, my only issue being its alot more 'light weight' than it used to be; they seem to have cosmetically 'cheapened' it since I bought my 1st.But it's a nescessity in my house this fire, so I had to replace it & was happy to buy the same one again. If I hadnt seen the way it used to be made I probably wouldn't be this picky, Im still happy to keep it, it really is a good fire

Needed a small fire as had to fit in empty fireplace which has some pipework still in after taking out a gas fire. Simply plug in and away you go. Have had lots of compliments over Christmas as to how realistic and cosy it looks. Throws out a good deal of heat I feel, as we have a large room. Warms the room quickly for a small fire. As mentioned you do hear the fan but you will with all fan heaters and can live with it. No noise at all when just the flickering flame on. Very happy.

This little stove will fit almost anywhere and is guaranteed to brighten up any room on a dark winter's day. You can use it simply as a flame effect or as a powerful heater with a 1 or 2 Kw output. It works straight out of the box and requires no set up or assembly apart from placing the supplied batteries in the remote control (which acts simply as an on/off device - other settings are via switches discretely mounted on the side of the stove itself). Another great buy from Argos.

I bought two of these fires as they seemed the best looking of the ones I saw working. This fire is good looking and heats effectively. The body is part metal and part plastic, but once in place it looked OK.I returned one of them because after a couple of days it developed an irritating squeak when it was switched on. As the squeak was there even when the heat was off I think it was related to fan that causes the flames to flicker. The second one is working OK so far.

My only pet hate is the gold door knob and silver Dimplex sign on the front clash- this probably wouldn’t annoy most people though! Almost silent with just the flame. Fan heater does have an obvious humming sound but maybe loud to me as I’ve never had one before. Very realistic flame effect and the orange colour it glows is not fake like some! Heater hidden quite well underneath not too far forward like others. Handy remote control too. Definitely worth a buy!

I bought this to warm my living room as I live in an old property. As soon as it was switched on the heat came blasting out. The lowest setting is adequate to warm quite a large sized room. You can hear the fan, but that's to be expected. However, it isn't a problem when watching TV.It looks lovely and the flame effect is really good too. I am really pleased with my electric stove and it is the best purchase this winter! I would highly recommend this product.

Very nice looking fire, not too loud as some people have mentioned. the light effect broke after 5 mins of use, i fixed this myself just the flicker effect fell off the motor, near where you change the bulb.Had the fire for abour 2 weeks now and just noticed that the heat setting 2 is now not working!! will open up the back again and see if i can fix it otherwise it will be going back to the shop, however i will try and get another because it is really nice

What a great little fire, the flame effect is outstanding, it's like having a log burner without the mess. The controls to operate the heating are low down on the side which might be awkward for some. The remote control just switches the flame effect on and off. It gives out a good amount of heat just on the first setting, just to boost the room temperature until the heating kicks in. It's a great buy but have seen this product £30 cheaper elsewhere.

Bought to fill the gap left on the hearth by a vivarium when our snake sadly died aged 22 The realistic log flame effect can be used independently without the variable, thermoststically controlled heat settings.Great warmth for those cooler summer evenings when we don't want to put the heating on. Not having had a real fire for many years, this provides mess free heating as well as a lovely focal point in the room. Oh,and the cats love it
