We were delighted to find that on the flame effect setting there is no noise whatsoever. On the heat settings there is obvious noise but is easily covered by the radio or tv. I have noticed it doesn't heat the room as fast as our old fire which had the same heat settings, and I don't find much difference between the two when holding your hand under the blower. I only really notice the difference when we turn it down from setting 2 to 1 when the room has heated. Strange. But perhaps it's just me. I also like the look of the fire. It really was a bargain I feel.

This fire is lovely. Even though it says it’s an inset fire it comes as a freestanding fire, which is exactly what I wanted. The flames are nice and bright and when just the flames are on there is no noise at all. I’ve always had Dimplex fires, and i’ve looked at others but nothing compares to the Dimplex optiflame effect. I can’t find one negative thing to say about this fire.

this fire is so well made and great value for money, log/flame very realistic, lovely to sit in the sitting room, curtains pulled over, feet up, and just relax looking at the glow from logs burning! I saw a comment that one customer left about a realistic crackling effect, is this supposed to be with this fire? It's still a lovely fire, nonetheless...highly recommend

Subtle design (we didn't want any gilt finish) that adds a warming glow when the effect is turned on that is virtually silent. It also looks ok when it is turned off. Nice to be able to put the fan on to boost the heating when it is very cold. Flame effect is realistic - not the orange you get in some cheap fires. Very happy with this fire.

I got this in the black friday sale so saved myself a good chunk of money.It's a beautiful fire, and is exactly what i was looking for.Nice flame effect and makes no noise when the lights are on. Makes the usual noise you would expect when the fan is on.Also i took off the spacer bar and it fits nicely in my 16" fireplace.

Bought this fire to replace an old living flame gas fire. It is lovely and flame effect quite authentic for an electric fire. No installation required - just placed on hearth and plugged in. Maybe not such a good heat as a gas fire but fine if you have good central heating. I use it mainly for the flame effect.

Well what can i say but superb looks very classy the log flame effect is stunning looks awesome against my cream marble fire place.The finished color looks like a black leaded oldie worlde fire without the mess. i can recommend this product and for the price off amazon just spot on.

A country mile better the builders original fire. More realistic effect and warm glow . A small tip ours was fitted into recess already there but don’t push tight against fireplace as fan will vibrate making the noise the fan produces higher, a slight gap sorts that out.

Easy to fit good realistic effect and heat output thermastic control makes a comfortable room temperature and fitted our Victorian fire surround perfectly . Would have liked a little longer cable (another 18 inches ) would make it a lot easier to reach the nearest plug .

Bought from Amazon Warehouse - box damaged, but fire perfect. We particularly like the flame effect. No problems with noise or rattling on our fire (other reviewers have complained of this). No remote, but I don't mind having to exercise to switch it on manually!!

Lovely fire when inset into a Fireplace.Can be used free standing, against a wall etc.Comes with a 100mm spacer attached which is easily removed.Love the opti-flame effect making the room look really cosy.Even when switch off the logs have a slight glimmer.

This is an excellent product. There is absolutely no set up you take it out of the box plug it in and it works. The flame effect is great. Gives a warm realistic focal point to the room. It throws out enough heat to take the chill off a average size room.

Very pleased with fire. Although fan was quiet at first it now makes a bit of a noise. If it was a real log fire it would still hiss, spit and crackle; so not much difference really. It makes a big difference to our lounge, more cosy without the hassle.

Really realistic flame effects and chucks out a good bit of heat when you need it. Good price and delivery from amazon. Only minor gripe is lack of clear fitting instructions- I had to drill holes in the surround to screw it to the fireplace.
