This fire is very modern and classy looking, has 2 heat settings, and lovely flame effect. Love the look when it's just switched on flame effect with the white pebbles. Some amount of heat comes from the fan, just a little noisy when switch on for heat, but I'll be using it as a back up heat for when my gas central heating isn't on, so not too bothered about that. Only thing is when the light bulbs need changing, you need to take the front off then unscrew the compartment inside, my last fire was less hassle.

We nearly bought a fire elsewhere costing nearly twice as much, but decided to go for this one and we were not disappointed. The appearance and build is on a par with products costing much more and the flame effect is excellent. We only use the fire on first setting to take the chill off for a few minutes on entering the room. Yes, you can hear it, but I don't think the noise is excessive and it is probably on a par with most fan type heaters. Delighted with the purchase and would recommend it at this price.

I already have a Dimplex flame effect fire purchased from Argos a year ago, we have always been very pleased. We purchased a holiday home a month ago and needed to update the existing flame fire with something more modern so opted to purchase another Dimplex flame fire from Argos.1 The price very competitive 2 Ease of fitting, ease of use 3 Modern looking with fabulous flame effect4 After over a year the old one still looks and works perfectly 5 Easy to click and collect from the Argos store

Got this last week to replace an old fire that had seen better days, it fitted in to our fireplace just nice, turned it on and what a difference it made to our living room, the effect is fantastic, even better when the lights are low, only tried the heater side of it once to check it worked and it puts out a great heat, my dogs and cats now lie in front of it like a real fire, its got a great finish on it too, the pebbles supplied with it actually look like glowing coals when the room is dark.

I bought this fire to replace a gas fire,I could not be happier with the result.The picture does not do this fire justice so I was so glad I read the excellent reviews on it and went ahead with my purchase.The first fire was damaged but I knew a replacement would not be a problem as Argos have fantastic customer service, they ordered me a replacement to collect the following day.It looks fab even when turned off completely but at night when I have the flame effect on it looks simply stunning.

I paid slightly less for a similar looking fire that I ended up returning and exchanging for this one. The first had a washed out yellow glow, no flame effect, no thermostat and wax/plaster like fake pebbles that crumbled all over the place. This one has a terrific real flame effect, a glowing pebble bed with REAL pebbles, a thermostat and great heat output.LED lighting means it's cheap to run year-round on flame-only setting and should mean a long life with no fiddly bulb changes.

We rarely buy a product such as this until we have seen it working. However, when we read all the positive reviews we decided to go for it!! This fire ticks all the boxes for us! Do not be put off by the colour on the website - it is more brushed steel not dark grey. No noise from the fan using the light mode, this kicks in when heat mode is selected which is very effective and warms the room, the pebbles glow like coals and the flame effect is brilliant. Excellent price from Argos.

Fire looks great and the flame effect pretty realistic. Two things I dislike: you can see the light shining along the bottom - this isn't shown in photos of the fire. Also ours has an intermittent squeak when using flame effect only setting. It operates silently for hours, then will squeak on and off for an hour or so (some mechanism rotating) and then will be silent again. It can go days without squeaking - am currently awaiting return of squeak to decide whether to return fire!

I am very pleased with this fire, we had been looking for an electric fire since we moved house and thought some of the prices were a little steep. I went on the Internet site for Argos and found that there were a lot more fires listed than in the catalogue. The prices were very good I had seen this fire for a lot more in shops in the area.The only thing missing is a thermostat but as the fire is only a back up to the central heating this is not a problem.Beckhambender

Great little fire! Very modern.. Love it. I am a very careful purchaser who shops around and have no complaints with this product at all. Love the fact that you can just have the flames,, gives a really cosy feel to the room when its not cold. Safe for the children to be around as the heat is a produced by a fan. Makes no noise when the flames are just on. And when heating the room I dont think it is noisy enough to worry about. I would buy again, great value.

We purchased this fire having read the outstanding reviews, thinking that it must be good. However, it is more than that ; it is "flaming" brilliant. We now find ourselves watching the fire instead of the TV ! [sad isn't it]. As daft as it sounds the room now feels warm and cosy, even when the heating element is off. The flame effect is outstanding and for a fire of this price, it is exceptional value. We wholeheartedly recommend this fire to one and all.

Bought this as a replacement for my slightly cheaper electric fire which broke twice in 12 months. This one fits beautifully looks really smart and good quality. Love the flame effect as my last one only had an orange glow. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is that it gives off an oily smell when switched on. I thought it may be because it was new and that it would dissipate in time but 3 weeks on and it is still there.Overall very pleased

We are extremely pleased with the fire .. looks a lot more expensive than it actually was. The fan is the quietest that we have had from an electric fire, just a pretty quiet hum. Good heat output and the flame effect looks pretty realistic, with the pebbles looking as though they are glowing at the bottom too. We took out the extra insurance, which worked out really cheap too. Overall, totally happy with our purchase.

Brought this to replace my old fire as the fan for the light effect had broke and could not be fixed, as that is the main thing I use on the fire it had to be replaced as the nights draw in I will put this feature on at night, I may sound daft but it warms the room without the heat, (this may just what I think). The flame on this one is slightly different but I love it and hope to enjoy it for many of years.

I decided to buy this fire after reading all the great reviews and I was not disappointed. My old fire was really noisy when the flame effect was on and it was starting to really annoy me! This one is silent when the flame effect is on. You can hear the fan when the convector is on but not too bad. I am only needing it for the flame effect so I am fine with that. Lovely looking fire with nice flame effect!
