I already own a pair exactly the same, so when I saw them at such a good price (in sales locally at £120) I bought them for when my current pair are relegated to wearing for gardening. I am heavy on the heels, but these shoes have been the best so far for not wearing down. Felt weird the first time I put them on as they have a deeper footbed to them than my last pair of Salomons, but I soon got used to that as the fit was perfect, and they are so light to wear. (i always buy a size bigger than I need, as I like to wear proper walking socks with heel and toe reinforcement, and I learnt early on that doesn't work with the correct shoe size!) The Goretex hasn't let me down yet,and I have worn them in some pretty wet weather! I also like stomping in puddles (ever the child!) The only thing I would say is they sound "clompy" when walking through stores, and often "squelch", but that still hasn't deterred me as they really are a brilliant fit and soooooo comfortable for my feet! The grey colour cleans well, - I did toy with buying the black ones, but decided against it as I think they will look tatty quicker. If your looking for a good walking shoe, give them a go - the good thing with Amazon is, if your not happy, send them back!

After nearly four months daily use these hiking shoes still look like new. They're easy to clean and air dry quickly. After going through the summer months wearing these I can attest to the breathable feet element and the shoes really are perspiration free. Even after a nine hour work shift, constantly on my feet and on the go, and a one hour dog walk... no sweaty feet (I combine with 100% cotton socks too so that probably helps a lot as well). Rainy days aren't a problem either... feet stay dry while walking in rain and the surface dries quickly once out of the elements.Comfy and fine fit. Merrell Siren Sport has Trademark cushioning with a supportive mid-sole and I've found them to be the most comfortable hiking shoe I've bought so far in this price range. The shoes are very lightweight so ideal for daily use. The insoles are still comfy and strong with no slippage and all the mesh and fabric of this footwear are high quality.I will be recommending and buying this brand again. A pleasure to wear.

I used to work as a salesperson for an outdoor company, and Merrell was a big part of our inventory.Bought these for my mother, who has fibromyalgia/ME and arthritis, with very painful feet. Usually she would shuffle around in shoes, but after convincing her to wear these, her pace has sped up, she feels less tired, and far less fatigue from her feet and legs, and was even caught leaping out of a van front seat casually without a second thought (previously this would be quite a drama).Merrell have legendary comfort (I wear them myself and refuse to go back) and durability, and with Goretex lining, these shoes are fully waterproof. The Vibram sole lasts wonderfully long (after 2 years I bought more for her),and the lacing system is very supported. The shape of the shoe allows for great comfort and long distances (the slight upturn of the front can apparently increase efficiency in walking by 5% as I was told). These are great shoes, from a tremendous brand.

Have had this walking shoe before, but in a different colour way. I took this order as a bit of a lottery in the hope that they would still be ok and they are perfect. Have bought them to replace my old soles wearing down, as have had a major operation and am still in hospital recovering. I needed a safe reliable pair of walking shoes for inside the hospital and also for physio sometimes outside, to keep me steady and prevent slipping and also make me walk straight. These are perfect and am just so thrilled I ordered them before they sold out in my size. Don't be put off by them being slightly stiffer than some Merrell shoes and boots, they will mould to your feel with wear, but don't cause any blisters or uncomfortabless / tiredness. I am usually a size 4 in walking shoes, due to thicker socks, and the size 4 was just right. Would definitely recommend. Will use them for dog walking when finally home!

These are the most comfortable shoe I've ever had. These were my second pair of Merrell trainers. I did buy a cheaper replacement initially when my first pair were worn out after 3 years, however the cheap brand felt like I'd strapped two planks of wood to my feet compared to my old Merrell's. So I brought this pair and wish I'd done so in the first place, they are fabulous. They were comfortable and supportive from the first wear. I walked for an hour in them on the first day and my feet were comfortable the entire time. You can feel the cushioning and spring/bounce of these as soon as you put them on. I would have happily worn them all day and do on many occasions now.I won't be wasting money on any other trainer ever again. I haven't had one blister or even a sore spot from wearing these and would recommend these to anyone. If you are thinking of buying these you won't be disappointed.

I bought a pair of these a year ago size 5 which is my normal shoe size but they were a very snug fit and only fitted with thin socks not walking socks. I live in Spain so returns are costly. After 6 months I gave up and sold them on ebay as they were putting pressure on my toes. I then ordered a size 6 but returned them as they were miles too big. Have finally settled on a 5.5 and they are perfect. Room for a walking sock in winter or slightly swollen feet in hot weather. I would recommend ordering a half size bigger for these as they are small sizing. Otherwise great comfortable walking shoes, they soften up after a couple of wears and give good support. Also lightweight. I would buy them again. The only minus is the insole seems more flimsy than the first pair I bought a year ago but I have my own customer made insole so I have simply replaced it to get better arch support.

Ordered my usual size but no way were these big enough, even more so if you want to wear a thicker sock. I returned the 6 and went for the 6.5, and I'm more than happy wearing these with a normal thin every day sock. A couple of days breaking them in and they are very comfortable.Would definitely buy again*EDIT* Exactly a year later and having worn these almost everywhere and in all weathers, I now have to cast them aside. I'm not exactly sure how but they are now causing an issue with the base outside of my left small toe (metatarsal). I can only put it down to wear and tear, as you would a good worn tyre on a car. I am reasonably assured from my Garmn connect that I have walked at least a (conservative)million steps in these old faithfuls.Would I still buy these again? You bet I will.

I really like these shoes, but when I first tried them on I wasn't sure. They felt plastic-y and weird at first. I took them out for a short dog walk to try them out and ended up walking quite a lot further than planned, as they were so comfy! I've since spent two whole days walking long distances in them and my feet were fine. I took the dog out in the rain today and got to test out the gore-tex. I walked through long wet grass and muddy puddles and it was raining the whole time I was out, but me feet are dry. I also think the grip on them is good, they feel sturdy on slippery rocky parts and on muddy slopes. Not the cheapest walking shoes, but I would buy them again.I got them in grey and purple,I also think they look really nice, they're practical but feminine.

Have had lots of Merrells and know the fit. I`m a UK5 but always buy a Merrell UK6 and they fit perfectly every time. Last pair were Chameleon Arc GTX so hesitated to get these but am not sorry. Much better shoe. Stronger, lighter, more stylish and once I got used to the firmness of them, very very comfortable after a short while. Yes, they feel really hard when they first go on which is a shock and they don`t really "give" but somehow they mould round the foot and feel like slippers . Super light for what they are and although I have worn then quite a bit there is no sign of wear in the soles yet - unlike the Arcs which wore out in 6 months. I love them and would readily have another pair.In fact, I have bought the midi boot now and those are just as good.

Delivered as expected shoes exactly as advertised. I wear a size 7 shoe and ordered theses in an 8.shoe is very comfortable just completed a 23 mile walk in them without blisters or rubbing . I usually wear a half boot and a shoe is quite different , it doesn't feel it fits as firmly to the foot and at first it feels as though the laces are not tight enough but they were fine in the test walk , just have to get used to change of style . They look very neat on the foot , not like a size 8 at allUpdate added after training for 26 mile walking challenge . I found my feet got wet in the rain , not because the shoes leaked but because the rain ran down my legs into the socks and shoes .Will wear gaiters if walking in the rain again . Wet feet equals blisters !!

Love em. I used to wear an orthotic, but with wearing these I could discard it. The blurb goes on about women and how they walk in contrast to men. I wish all shoes were made like this. I wish they would make the same fitting in a more bouncey shoe for everyday wear, and not a bright pink pair of trainers! A hybrid is definitely needed. On first wearing them I thought I'd wasted my money as they hurt (not the sizing, just the way they are made), but after a few walks they did not hurt anymore. I have found this to be the case each time I don't wear them for a while; I presume it is just my feet getting used to wearing shoes made for the female. Would buy again. I usually wear a size 7.I bought a 7 and and 8, but kept the 8, so maybe buy a size bigger.

These trainers are great.I work long hours in the the TV Industry in the Camera Department. I always use hiking trainers as it can be indoor or outdoor work. Being on my feet all day I need a good waterproof comfortable trainer. My last pair was a north face GTX model, they was great but a bit bulky and not very waterproof. These trainers are smart looking and very comfortable. The waterproof feature is brilliant and they give your feet room to breath, so no sweaty wet socks after a long day.My favourite feature is the tongue of the trainer pulls up that extra bit so they are really easy to get on and off quickly with out having to unlace too much or pull the trainer off.Highly recommend them.

the suppliers of my Merrell Sport shoes are to be highly recommended for the efficiency in the speed of processing & delivery time. The shoes themselves have only just been tried out for the first time, & they have not disappointed. I live in the Yorkshire dales, so good walks on the doorstep with a variety of terrain. Today',s outing of a fair few miles took in road, moor,& some fairly boggy aspects. The shoes performed as advertised throughout, & remained both comfortable & supportive. My toes a few hours later felt slightly bruised, but, 'im guessing, my own fault as i woreonly a pair of ordinary socks for the duration!! At the moment, after only 1 try out,i'm very pleased with my purchase.

no shoes are better in my opinion for outdoor loving women everywhere! They are pretty light weight for a waterproof shoe, look cool (I wear mine out and about in the wet/mud/rock and also in town). They are really comfy. Have great soles (unlike alot of merrell shoes) which are really grippy and adaptable. The only slight niggle I have with them is that they wear out in the same place every time- the rubber on the top peels back, and the seal joining the sole to the fabric splits letting in the water. That said, it takes a good year of wearing them every day in the worst of conditions to make them that way so can't complain too much!

Overall I am very happy with these shoes, I looked at previous reviews that stated you needed to go a size larger than your normal size which I did, and it was good advice, I am currently signed up to do a 60 mile walk in September and needed good water proof walking shoes. I wore these yesterday as part of my training and I walked 20 miles, and they were great, of course my feet were hot, but I had no blisters or rubbing, the only down side which is why I haven't marked it 5 stars is they are a bit heavy, but I weighed this up, if I want a good walking shoe to get me through 60 miles I really have to expect this.very pleased.
