What a brilliant set! I’m a bit new to Lego, but really wanted to get a nice one to get me started, this is what I chose. For a Star Wars fan, this is a fantastic look at the ship in the upcoming film. I set aside most of my afternoon to build it and I’m glad I did because it took me around 3-4 hours to finish it at a newbies pace.Inside the box, Everything is neatly packed and ordered into 6 bags with a nice big manual too.The instructions for the build are clear, and concise and the manual is really wonderful, the illustrations are easy to follow and show when you need to turn it around and how to put on smaller little bits. The pieces used were very varied,

Aimed at ages 8-14 this 630 piece set is another in the new Lego Star Wars, ‘The Last Jedi,’ range. This is Kylo Ren’s Tie Fighter and it has been well thought out. Sleek and dramatic, this is a superb model and also sturdy enough to be a well played with toy. My thirteen year old son put this together, but my little nephew has been happily swooshing it around since it has been made and the sides may look a little delicate, but they have been knocked against walls and furniture, without breaking.The cockpit opens to hold one figure – either Kylo Ren (who comes complete with light sabre) or the new First Order Tie Fighter Pilot. Both the new Tie Fighter Pilot and the Storm Trooper come with blasters.

Just Wow!Finally got my son to get round to build the new Kylo Ren TIE Fighter. This is impressive and looks the part, my son just cannot wait to watch the new movie. This set comes with the four excellent and rare mini-figures. My son collects the mini-figures, so he was chuffed to get these four. Kylo Ren has nice detail and looks a bit Darth Vaderish, stick a Darth Vader mask and he would look cool.The TIE Fighter itself is great and looks awesome. It took my nine year old 2-3 hours to build this and he said it was a fun and relatively straight forward build. This TIE fighter stands out as it is not like previous incarnations. This looks more menacing than others, it fits in with a more menacing Kylo Ren I guess.

If Kylo Ren held his lightsaber to my neck and demanded I describe his TIE fighter I would probably say 'sleek, black, death.' Everything about this build is menacing and purposeful. All of the pieces are black and grey with only a few blue technic pins. The clear plastic pieces for the cockpit and the engines are blood red. Two stud shooters are built into the body of the craft and the cockpit hatch is a printed piece. The cockpit has room for a single mini figure.This set includes the new BB-9E and First Order TIE pilot. The Kylo Ren mini figure has a new lightsaber and the printing on his face and body have been updated. This is the only LEGO Star Wars set to completely convey so much 'dark side'

Another great Star Wars Lego set ahead of the new film's release later this year. This time it's Kylo Ren's Tie Fighter, which is a sleek, black, angular number. The set took my 11yo daughter a few hours to build and it looks good when finished, albeit the nature of the ship makes it fairly fragile (with long, pointy wings) and so perhaps one for children at the older end of the 8-14 end of the recommended age range. The set comes with 4 figures (BB-9E droid, First Order Stormtrooper, First Order Tie Pilot and, of course, Kylo Ren). As ever with Lego sets, the more expensive the box, the disproportionately more you seem to get for your money in terms of pieces, figures, build time and longevity.

Another cool Star Wars Lego toy for ages 8 - 14 but in reality could be for younger children (with help of adult) or older children who are just really into Star Wars. The black and red colouring is nice and you get 4 Lego characters to play with.Reasonably tricky to build up - put aside a few hours. Wings fold nicely and the cockpit opens up for your character to sit in. There's also a couple of laser cannons that can 'fire' from the toy (add in your own sound effects).Mid-priced and premium Lego product which would make an excellent gift for the upcoming festive season.

My son loves this tie fighter, because it looks really cool! It comes with an unmasked Kylo Ren and a cute bot called BB-9E, which is like a black BB-8, and also two other mini figures.My son enjoyed building this set, and he especially liked the cool printed top cover which opens to reveal the pilot's seat inside. The wings can actually fold in and out-wards lengthways, to make the gentle curved shape. There are also laser guns, which shoot out red 'lasers'.Overall, a really cool set. We can't wait to see the film so we can see the tie fighter in action!

As with most of the Star Wars Lego sets, this one does not disappoint and is a great family activity. It took around an hour and a half to build and looks incredible on display.

Needed a center piece for my gaming corner. It looks fantastic and took me roughly an hour and a half to build. Honeslty was shocked at how cheap it was when i bought this.

My boyfriend built this is one night - he was so excited! This is definitely one of the better value for money sets - it's large and detailed.
