The very first review for this Lego set, claims that this set is full of "useless pieces". How ridiculous, Lego does not have any useless pieces, they may not be the pieces that one wants but like a puzzle, Lego is meant not only to recreate what is in the Lego instruction booklets but also (and more importantly I would argue) what is in your mind. Work with what you've got in front of you, there are lots of possibilities.I just gave this box to my 4 and 5 year olds and they are having a ball with it. They don't seem to feel limited at all. They are building cars and trees and little shacks and tomorrow, it might all be the same or it could all be something new. With all their other existing Lego,

Bought this for my children to share - which they have mostly managed to do, though there have been a couple of arguments over who should be using which brick and who stole which brick. (This was going to be for Easter but circumstances mean that they have received it a few weeks early). I am very glad that I had this on hand to help occupy them.My daughter has loved building the included projects, the ones in the leaflet and the ones on the website. Whereas my son is more of a freestyler and has just loved building whatever his imagination comes up with.There is an awful lot of space in the box though, once you've opened the bags. I'm thinking that we will amalgamate some of the other lego sets we have which now have missing pieces,

A massive fan of Lego since I was a child. I think this is a great place to start if its your first experience with Lego.The amount of Lego inside the box is slightly disappointing, the Lego quantity only uses up half the volume of the box, but I guess you can use it for more Lego in the future or store your masterpieces in that big box.The price is decent, similar to most other outlets selling the same thing but nothing beats Prime Next Day Delivery.For ages 4 plus, can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike.Was a small hair line crack on my box but I'm sure its a one off and if u was to report it to Amazon, it will get replaced instantly.Absolute great fun and highly recommend.

I like this Lego because firstly it reminds me of my own stuff I had when I was little and secondly because its not over designed to be so specific there is only one thing to make. No, this is a general purpose set that hopefully allows the little people in your life use their imagination.To that end you get a good range of standard bricks in a generously sized box that allows plenty of room for more Lego. Ahem...Price? Well at the reduced price I paid I guess bearable but, as we all know, Lego is expensive for what it is. Still leads the pack though.Overall a decent starter kit for your kids or as in my case, grandchildren.

This was exactly right for my little granddaughter. We bought it as a starter pack . It comes with a booklet showing how to make about 8 different models all of which can be made from the box without having to dismantle previous models. Each took her about half an hour - just right for her attention span. Apparently if you look online there are other similar suggestions. I'm sure she will soon be making her own inventions but it has given her lots of ideas. There were lots of 'eyes' which pleased her and some wheels to make cars and an engine. She loves it. Probably best from 4 years but she is actually only 3

We are just converting from duplo to lego classic and it's been a fantastic experience! There is a little booklet included in the box that has the picture of things that can be created, however some of them actually need to be looked up on the Lego website (which isn't as straight forward as I would have hoped). Also, as an advise, try to keep the different coloured pieces separate, just as they are when you get the box. Oh, and the box is big enough to keep a few of the creations intact. Enjoy!

brought for pieces to a project and it was much better value than the smaller sets. Has a wide variety of colours and pieces. Though if you want to build say a house, it'll have to be multicoloured. There's not many of any one type of brick.There's some interesting non brick pieces which could be used in many ways. Inside it comes with an idea book and everything is in little plastic bags. There's no handle on the bucket.a very good additional set and slightly above average starter set.

I bought my little boy this box of Lego thinking he'd do his usual as he's done with some other toys and play with it for a short period then forget about it and move on quickly.I was proved very wrong but happy to be wrong for once!hes played with it from he moment he's finished his breakfast until after nursery and even tries to take the box to bed..he even enjoys helping out the pieces back in his tub.i thought the tub was slightly pricey to begin with but will definitely be buying more.

We were looking for a first Lego set for granddaughter' s 6th birthday. This seemed ideal as it had a large number of bricks in a variety of colours plus wheels and windows etc to make vehicles and building. A small green board was included but we also bought a larger one separately to give her more scope for her creativity. The strong storage box it comes in means that it will be easy to tidy away after use. Our granddaughter was delighted with it but has not yet had time to play with it.

Today's Lego takes away the ability for a child to be creative and use her/his own imagination whilst playing with the bricks. Today they simply follow the pictures and build a pre-designed item/s.I bought this set of bricks to try and stimulate my grandchilds imagination but failed as all he wanted to build was what was pictured on the side of the box.My suggestion is throw away the outer wrapper and inside instructions and let them use their imagination and make something different.

I bought this for my over 6 yr old son. The only thing i regret is why i was so late in buying this!This was my first ever lego purchase and i am entirely in love with Lego its quality,innovation,and really impressed to see how my extremely chatty son can now sit down and play on his own so peacefully for hours. He has it on his mind all the time since we have bought this.I would definitely invest on more variety from Lego after this. If you want some quiet time,it is a must have.

I bought this for my 4 year old son for Christmas as his first proper Lego set (except for Duplo etc). Perfect item for the job. It comes with a little booklet with instructions for things you can make, most of which are quite simple and the instructions easy for him to follow. It also comes with plenty of bricks to make several things at once. We have made a train, flower and crocodile so far (all currently sitting pride of place on the mantelpiece). Plenty of bricks left to make more.

Bought this for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas to continue her Lego collection, must say this was great value, yes as all Lego sets once you open the packets they don't look like much for the size of the box, but there was lots of Lego and actually used the space in the box to store the rest of her Lego, so the big storage box comes in handy. The range of Lego in the box is brilliant, lots of colours, lots of types of bricks and also added extras like wheels etc. Highly recommend!

Got this as a gift for a 6 year old and yes I know from all the previous tubs of Lego I've bought over the years that the box is always huge and never looks like enough Lego but still can't get my head round it...lol. Don't get me wrong the child that received the tub of Lego loved it and built every single thing and more in one sitting but I just can't help thinking that a few more pieces would fill the box better! Most importantly the recipient loved it and that's all that matters:)

I bought this for my grandson after seeing him play with 40 year old Lego at his great grandparents home. It encourages hand to eye co-ordination, imagination and it distracts from electrical items.There's a good variety of bricks and colours.If I'd one critisism it would be that it comes with pictures of items you can build but the instructions have only 3 or 4 of the designs and the rest have to be accessed via the Lego website. Still.........good value and timeless. Thank you!
