Lego Tie Fighter 9492. Lego have much improved on the older versions of the imperial tie fighter 7146. The initial improvement and most distinctive to this set 9492 is the colour used. The colour is much closer to the colour used in the original trilogy. The set itself has been improved and upgraded, it is larger in size, the wings are more detailed and the whole tie fighter is a lot more movie accurate than before. There are some minor discrepancies which means even though it is a major leap forward for Lego their are still parts that can be improved by an experienced builder. The set currently matches colours used in Vader's X1 Tie 8017 and hopefully Lego will be releasing a new ImperialBomber and Imperial Tie Interceptor in the same colour. The set is dramatically improved by the two new additional minifigures and two standard issue figures:+ Exclusive R5-J2 droid - New cone style droid in black+ Death Star Trooper - Double sided head+ Imperial Officer -+ Tie Pilot - Printed FacePros:+ Superior TIE Fighter design, authentic colour and more detailed parts - improved design+ Easy instructions to follow for kids, but lots of detail included for the adult collector.+ Stable wings and solid pylons. Can be displayed or whooshed without worry. (may needadditional support for vigorous play)+ Exclusive minifigures to this set+ Printed parts and No stickersCons:+ Little bit over priced at £49:00+ Could have had a sound button to make tie fighter whine

I must admit that I buy these items (Lego Star Wars) for myself as I have never managed to get the Lego bug out of my system from when I was a boy. Happily my 8 year old son loves the toys as much of me, his favourite being the X-Wing Fighter so this seemed like an excellent companion play piece and I was delighted with every aspect of it from the design to the playability. The minifigures are superb and make a great addition to our Imperial forces, particulary the Death Star Trooper. It is robust and doesn't shed pieces like some of the other models in this range (I'm talking to you Droid Tri-fighter, nice kit as long as we don't touch you) and the only negative point is that my boy won't let me blow up his X-Wing with it,apparently the good guys always have to win.

The iconic TIE Fighter needs no introduction to Star Wars fans, and this Lego version does the highly original design full justice. Perhaps that is partly because the regular shapes lend themselves easily to being made up of Lego pieces. This is in contrast to ships with precise curves such as the Y-Wing, the nose of which is not quite accurate in either of the two Lego versions (one is too curved, and the other not curved enough).Getting back to the TIE, the dark grey colour scheme depicts the screen version more than adequately. As far as moving parts go, the cockpit opens to allow the pilot to be inserted and removed. Three other figures are also included,as are a couple of firing missiles. An essential item in the serious Lego Star Wars collector's fleet.

A quick build, but, I was surprised at how beautiful this set is when it's completed. I just stared at it for a while and put it opposite my x-wing and marveled at it for a while. The cockpit build was very detailed, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The wings are a fast build and while repetitious, didn't feel tedious whatsoever. I'm actually thinking of buying more.Delivery:Good. Shipped to Malaysia in 3 days, came through UPS, was in good condition.Pros:Epic set to have if you're a fan of the original trilogy, a must have.Cons:None. Though, pay special attention to the build of the wings, sometimes you might get mixed up with similar pieces and wonder whether you're missing any later on.

What can I say about this set that hasn't been said before? It's not as complex as the x-wing, but its still an enjoyable build and a sturdy set that compliments the x-wing nicely in my display. I think it should be cheaper than the x-wing and for this reason I'd normally score the set at 3 stars. However, since building this set I have started to gain feeling back in my legs having been paralysed from the waist down for 5 years. This set has given me hope that I may one day walk again and for that reason... 5 stars and well done Lego!!!

The first real step to becoming an 'expert'! I had just finished watching the Star Wars saga and looked for the 'Millenium Falcon' but I preferred Darth Vadar and jumped to the Tie Fighter. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. The minute it came I started to build it. It took 5 hours but as soon as started to fly it broke. The only negative is that when it does get broken up it is not easy to piece back together. I kept putting off doing it but finally I had the courage and it is now standing proudly on my shelf.

Once again the Star Wars premium kicks in and upon opening the box it's a little underwhelming. However once you have constructed the Tie Fighter itself and the 4 mini figures themselves it's another Quality Star Wars Lego product.Even better is the fact that no stickers come with this one and the decals are tattooed on. I really don't like stickers they look far better when they are like this.If you can get this at the 2/3 RRP that is currently available you are getting good value.5 Stars from me.

It will keep you entertained for a few hours and it seems like an accurate recreation. Much better than the older models and the colours are a little nicer too.I agree with others that the wings are a little fragile but it's not the end of the world. As long as you're not trying to recreate a tie fighter crashing into the Death Star trench wall, they shouldn't fall apart too easily.

Building This kit starting with the last bag first made it a fun and interesting build. This Tie Fighter is an impressive sight on its own or coupled with the X-wing. If your thinking about getting this Tie Fighter just stop thinking and get it you will not be disappointed. It is also fairly sturdy for play my children and I break the X-wing's and Y-wing's easier than the Tie Fighter.

Once you getpast the fact that star wars lego is always grossly overpriced (even Amazon's competitive price is too much really) this is actually a really accurate model. The quality and sturdiness once assembled is fantastic. Only real drawback is due to the design of the ship, there is inevitably an element of repetition with the construction.

My son xmas wouldn't have been complete without me once again building Lego models...This is a great model, quite sturdy and strong for what it is, the wings detach if you need them to for storage. The figures are great too.A lot of repeat building on this for the wings a bit daunting, but ok once you get stuck in.Quite big when finished.

My Son loves this toy.He is Star Wars mad, but rather than buying the standard figures we decided to buy something that provides him with the challenge of building it as well. (Plus he loved the Lego Star Wars films)I must admit I think his dad has as much fun building it as my son.

This is a great depiction of the classic TIE Fighter. Building it was fun, although slightly repetitive. At original price, just a bit on the expensive side, but today it can be bought at very attractive prices. An excellent adition to any Star wars collection. Great minifigs.

I bought this for a gift for my husband. He has the X Wing Fighter, R2D2, the Millenium Falcon and now the Tie Fighter. He loves to build them and the instructions are easyntonfollow and the end result is always impressive.I would recommend this for any Star Wars fan!

My 5 year old son loved this and made it with me following the instructions carefully. My only complaint is its not very stable and i keep promising to superglue bits together to make it more stable as at the mo, I don't like him touching it incase it falls apart!
