If you've ever tried an ordinary supermarket rum, you'd most likely mix with Coke, straight you might "Arr Jim Lad" like a pirate as it goes down. You KNOW when you have tried it!We have enjoyed the sipping rums like Kraken which have a bit of spice, Morgan Spiced and the like.My wife and daughter really liked Old J Spiced rum, although the vanilla scent was a bit much to me. This, Doorly's, was described as having a butternut vanilla aftertaste, but to be honest that is not really true.This is a nice strong rum that I would not waste in mixers. I laughingly called it a whiskey rum and that does actually describe the taste.

Absolutely love this rum. I can't put my finger on it but there is something about this that makes this a much better rum than most I've had. Will definitely be buying this again and again and again and.....well, you get the picture.PS. The price is very low considering the quality of it.

A really natural tasting rum, you can tell it's not had sugar added to it, quite dry with the kind of long, deep burnt sugar finish you normally only get with older, darker rums. Great for mixing. Not as smooth or rounded as the older Doorlys expressions but lots of flavour still.

I am usually an Appletons drinker but saw this on special. This is an excellent rum, for drinking on it's own.Mellow and smooth to taste. Was worth the real price and on special was a steal.

Good solid flavour. I can't say I'd buy again as I'd be more likely to pay the extra for the XO. This is a nice drink but doesn't have the strength of flavour I enjoy.

this goes down a treat straight out of the bottle without the need for coke or any other additions Its good stuff.

One of my favourite rums.Great on its own but even better in an old fashioned. Well worth a try.
