The Edradour is distilled in Pitlochry in what they claim is the smallest legal distillery in Scotland - any smaller would be portable.I first tried some of this delightful single malt many years ago during a visit to the distillery while on holiday there. Never a great whisky drinker - having been put off by the likes of Bells and Teachers being so rough with the after-burn on the throat - I tried the Edradour with trepidation. What a revelation! It is silky smooth, sweet and peaty with hints of indescribable delights, and twenty minutes later I could still taste the lingering warm essence, with no hint of a burn. Wonderful. As I've got older I've found I cannot drink anything more than a very small glass of wine because of a near instant migraine-strong hangover, but I still buy an occasional bottle of the Edradour for the honeyed taste and heather aroma; just a spoonful in a glass during a dark winter evening every now and then is nectar. It is my favourite.

This and Bunnahabhain 10 year are my favourite whiskey. Good price. Purchase on direct from Edradour and this was slightly more expensive due to the carriage which I don't have with prime. Both bottles tasted the same. The colour is slightly darker than usual, so I'm guessing these were from newer casks. Hence the reason for the purchase comparison. The distillery is close to where I live but closed due to COVID. Well worth a trip. Excellent value for money with many more excellent products to be had. The surroundings within are beautiful, the staff very friendly and helpful every so often you will be met by a local piper playing you in. Take a look on line. Enjoy!

Purchased this for my hubbie. He's had a fair few malt whiskey's over the years. Some are lovely & some taste more like an expensive blended whiskey. But, for a number of reasons Edradour is up there with the best because it's so smooth. The finish is almost a buttery, oily finish on the throat. This description may sound strange, but it is meant in the nicest way. As for the taste, he usually goes for the peaty malts. There's no peatiness in this at all, but it ranks as one of his favourites. He says he's looking forward to wifey treating him to another.

I imagine that if you are reading this you need some extra input about a pending choice to buy a bottle of Edradour.Do not hesitate if you are after a smooth but complex whisky that develops into an experience not just a drink.I visited the distillery with my family some years ago.The location, the philosophy, the honesty that surrounds the production of this brand impressed me.Tasting it for the first time changed my perception of what a good whisky should be.It set the bar at what is for me the peak of perfection.Thank you Edradour.

I normally drink Clyenlish but fancied a change. Clynelish is very inoffensive, mild yet has lots of taste. This on the other hand is the opposite. On the tongue it is spicy and warm. The after taste to me has a chilli kick with a liquorice flavour. If you like a larger glass then you may need to hold back with this. I have been to the Clynelish distillery and will definitely be going to this one now I know it exists

I fell in love with this whiskey after visiting the disillery tucked away in a small glen near Pitlochry when on holiday in Perthshire a couple of years ago - it's the smallest distillery in Scotland, by the way. This is truly a gem of a malt, honey and heather come through delightfully - very well rounded and typical of a good highland malt. You won't be disappointed

Lovely wee dram from Scotland's smallest distillery. (A lovely distillery near Pitlochry). Not too heavy, light floral taste with that honeyed finish that comes from Oloroso sherry. No harsh burn. No added colourings either...just a beautiful natural autumn gold. They only make a small amount so I am conflicted by telling you all this as it may push the price up!

I shouldn't be doing this review as it may make Edradour 10YO more popular and then the price will go up. My personal preference is Islay malts but I stumbled across this tiny distillery whilst in the area and had to try a dram. And another. It really is a fabulous malt, rich, deep in flavour and long-lasting (except the bottle, that is).

There is nothing wrong with this whisky apart from the price. It's a bit too hefty for what is a pleasant enough malt but nothing earth shattering. Glad I tried it and I did enjoy it but won't replace unless I see it sub £30.Edit: This whisky has improved a lot when left about two thirds full. Much nicer than when first opened

I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife as I rarely drink scotch but know it's one she likes. On trying it I found it the most enjoyable scotch that I have tasted, and now look forward to being offered the occasional tipple (not that she wants to share it very often).

Edradour make great whisky. Small is best and if you try you will not be disappointed. I had paid more for a Distillers Edition with another provider. This was no match for price and quality compared with Edradour. i encourage you to give it a try you will not be disappointed

I only use whisky as a wee dram when my old age of 96 finds me worn out. Then a tiny dram of Edradour gives me a restful sleep. In my cycling days of 1986 I pedalled past Pitlochry's smallest distillery, I ought to have called. This dram is lovely,

I visited this lovely wee distillery forty years ago, in 1979. I saw two guys really working their socks off to produce this beautifully balanced wisky. I’m just glad that it is now available for a wider drinking public. slangevar.........

Bought this for my partner for his birthday in lock down. He's not expecting much this year but this will put a smile on his face. Came perfectly packaged, lovely presentation cylinder and came quickly. He WILL have a Happy Birthday x

The taste of honey was not as strong in this bottle as I remember from the last one. I am not a great whisky drinker - but a teaspoon of Edradour is lovely topped on a bowl of porage oats along with brown sugar and a dash of cream.
