This is a truly amazing whisky and I can see this soon getting the price tag it deserves and becoming a £30 whisky. I've been amazed that the price of this whisky has been so low for so long. It's by far the best whisky in its price range and if you were to make it £30 a bottle it would still be in the top 3 in that range also.If you have tried the Abundha then this whisky has a similar taste. Dark chocolate, butterscotch toffee and vanilla. The Abundha also has a bitter orange taste and far more depth due to the batch strength. This 10 is incredibly smooth and easy to drink. There's no peat or smoke. Nothing harsh at the back of the throat. Just a lovely enjoyable dram.If your having friends over, put this in a decanter and serve it to them. It tastes like a far more expensive whisky than it is.Personally I would forget the 12 and 16 and save your money. The 10 and the Abundha are the only whiskys I'd buy from Aberlour. Why spend £70/80 on the Aberlour 18 when I could get the Glenfarclas 21 for that price.P.s I think the aberlour 10 is better than the glenfarlas 10

Incredibly smooth and well balanced, yet the most reasonably priced Speyside malt. Others have mentioned that this 10 year old is better than the 12 year old, and I think this down to the good balance and lightness of this whiskey. The extra flavour acquired with an extra 2 years as goes the 12 year old produces an obviously darker, yet far sharper flavour that in my opinion does not suit it.Having said that I am far from an expert, although there is little point in drinking a whiskey that you don't enjoy..Each to their own..This is the Speyside used by the Scotch Whiskey Experience to demonstrate a typical Speyside whiskey to visitors.Speyside happens to be my favourite whiskey producing areas, although it's just a question of trying typical ones from all four areas to find your individual favourite.

Although I'm fairly new to whisky, I can tell this one is very good value. It's not perfect - in my opinion the alcohol is too harsh for the style, which I imagine is because it's only a 10 year old. I'd recommend pouring a dram and letting it sit for a few minutes. The alcohol seems to dissipate and becomes less harsh. It's got a pleasant smell with lots of sherry, raisins and (for me anyway) a little star anise. I couldn't find cinnamon in there like others seem to. On tasting, the first thing that hit me was a surprising amount of oakiness but this quickly gave way to a nice sweet, sherried maltiness with a hint of chocolate. It has a nice creamy mouthfeel for a young whisky. The finish is quite long, but uncomplicated.

Although a delivery to Wales was, in May 2018, nearly a week late and customer service was dreadful.....At around £20 a bottle this represents excellent value and has, for me, more character than Aberlour's more expensive 12 yr old. If you wander uphill from Aberlour's distillery you arrive at the Glenfarclas distillery. Glenfarclas like Aberlour mature in sherry cask. Many would say that Glenfarclas was better, but I would merely say that it was different, although less different than most other Scottish malt whiskies, and that they are both delicious expressions of the genre. And that would make Aberlour a bargain, if you compare prices.

I should start by saying I only started drinking Whisky about a year ago, but have tasted dozens around the £20-£40 Mark and for the money, this is the best tasting Whisky I have found. When I initially first opened the bottle I was underwhelmed, it smelled of the Sherry casks but tasted boozy, generic and cheap. However, after a week it seemed to radically change and become fruity and delicious and moreish. If you have tried Green Spot Irish Whiskey then this tastes almost as good - not quite, but not a million miles away either. My budget favourite. Recommended.

I don't drink Single Malt, but one the guys I work with does and after he did me a favour I thought I'd treat him to a bottle Aberlour. The presentation is great, and belies the price paid and made a great impression. The product itself was liked by the recipient who was impressed with taste and texture of this product and he was also impressed that I had clearly spent a significant amount of money on him given the quality of the item...little did he know how reasonable it was...let's hope he doesn't search for this review on Amazon!

This is the first whisky I've tried that cost more that 20 quid per litre and I can honestly say its opened my eyes, I've always liked the occasional sip of scotch as a night cap or to relax but this is the first I've tried so far where every tasting note on the bottle is accurate, that being said I'm obviously no expert by any stretch, will definitely be buying another bottle in the very near future that's for sureUpdate: I've bought this 3 times now and it's always arrived quickly and in good condition, would definitely recommend

Spent some time on research for a treat at Christmas (for me). I can't endorse any of the verbose tasting reviews. To me it seems a tad smoother than the Bells blend I had last year but otherwise tastes similar. Someone told me a decent single malt requires about £150. I now believe that (but don't have it!) Truth about whisky is that is alcohol watered down to 40 per cent and stored in barrels that gradually add flavour to the fairly repulsive original.

Very happy with this whiskey! Sweet and smooth with little lingering taste. Extremely easy to drink neat with no harsh notes. I actually prefer this to the twelve year old. I bought both at the same time and found the ten to be much more enjoyable. Bought this for £22 and they seem to have put up the price since then, so be cautious of that. Otherwise this is a fantastic dram which I'm sure anybody will enjoy, especially newcomers to whiskey. Enjoy!

Other reviews have said it but this is a luxuriously smooth beverage. One of the few Whiskeys I could knock back for the rest of my days. I can enjoy it at room temperature or slightly chilled and have not felt the need to dilute with water. The best marketing strategy is to create a product that people need to purchase repetitively and this bottle has made it onto that list for me.I'll buy it like I do bog roll. When it's gone, I'll buy more.

This is a lovely dram, lots of fruit...raisins, plums, prunes, apricots with a woody undertone, it really is a superb whisky. The twelve year old has a more rounded and smooth quality but this ten has a robustness and intensity that is very pleasurable. The price (currently £20) is exceptional and makes this whisky affordable and super value. I’m not sure there’s another whisky of this quality in this price range. It really is utterly superb...

A spicy, fruity and sherried Speyside single malt for everyone, and when on offer (as it often is!) about as good as it gets in terms of quality/price ratio.A sweet and spicy start, gives way to more spice, with hints of fruit and plenty of sherry in the finish. For around £20 a bottle, this is about as good as it gets, as you can pay that for inferior and far less complex blends.Go buy one, you want be disappointed!

I may be biased as Speyside is my favourite whisky producing area. I find this whisky soft but rich on the palate with a long lasting afterglow to savour. I like Aberlour because the taste is not overpowered with smokiness like some of the Islay malts and Talisker from Skye in particular.I love it and will be buying more in future if the price stays competitive here!

Aberlour 10 year old with it's smooth toffee and vanilla flavours is an ideal whisky both for beginners and lang time connoisseurs. As you can probably guess, it's my favourite malt and I heartily recommend it particularly as a gift if you are unsure what to buy. It lacks the peaty smoke of the island malts and is easy on the palate. It is also excellent value!

Great old stand by whisky for me,always reliable, and depending on price,it can be a very good buy.At the right price,I usually pick up a bottle or two(or three),and much better by far than the usual blends, albeit a tad more expensive.I doubt any scotch lover would find much to displease them with Aberlour 10,well worth keeping in your drinks cabinet.
