4 Stars...a begrudging one, as I do think it could be a 5, but here's why.Out of the box, it's really nice and easy to set up. The instructions are in the booklet, but also supplied on a card on the handle. It's just logically click the 4 pieces together, and it's ready to go.My main point of comparison for this is another carpet cleaner I normally use from Vax, the Vax Dual Power Max Carpet Cleaner which comes out at nearly the same price. That's big, heavy, bulky and messy, but cleans the carpet impeccably well. This Bissell model is much more compact and lighter, so better on physical design, but lets see how it operates. From the photos I hope you can see that I tested it on a patch that i've wanted to clean for ages. It's a black patch and mark where my dad's feet sit when he's sitting at the table. In a house with 2 kids,4 adults and a dog, you can see why i'm so keen on having a carpet cleaner! The trick with these is all in the operation. Firstly, make sure to put hot water in the tank. Secondly, pull back the cleaner for every push you do. Over saturating the carpet will soak dirty water down in to the underlay, and you'll have a stale smell you'll never get rid of. The slower you go the better it cleans and also the way more boring it is, but it cleans better slower. Also, for a proper full carpet clean, this is a few hours job. it's not like using a vacuum! Hours will pass and multiple tanks will be emptied and you'll question life but it's worth it, for that satisfying stare at the carpet the day after.Again from the photos, that one stubborn black patch, despite spending nearly half a day on it, hasn't come out fully how I wanted to. The carpet cleaner works, as you can tell from the colour of the sucked up water. I think with all carpet cleaners you do kind of have to expect that your carpet won't look brand new, and to not have such precise eyes, because a few days later i'm overall happy with the carpets even though that patch is still very faintly there. A carpet cleaner works best if used frequently. If your carpet is nacked, this is quite an expensive cleaner, and it might be the same price to re-carpet a room as to buy this. The solutions - for reference, one of the supplied bottles does about 3 tank fills, which is one big carpet. My favourite is the Febreze one or the professional. The other two were as good as useless, being the Oxy Boost and the Antibacterial, as they didn't soap up enough and definitely didn't do much for cleaning the carpet. The supplied little black measure cup is in oz - the booklet references the amounts in ml. But the conversion is right. The half line on the cup works out to be what the booklet says. It's lightweight, and relatively more compact than other carpet cleaners.Reinforced and long power cable. It's loud, but they all are.It claimed 1 hour dry time, but with the carpet 'sucked' as much as it could with the machine pulling no more water, it was still soggy and required overnight drying. If you have a dog or a pet, it's rally good at pulling out the pet hair. I vacuumed thoroughly before using it, yet the amount of hair that came out in the tank, in the water, and generally just from the machine was incredible. One thing it does though, is it churns out the hair but then spits it out and leaves it on the carpet - pictured. This means there's a lot of stop-starting in order to clean it up before proceeding with the clean. There's no separate tank for rinse and wash - just water and soap solution - like there is on the Vax. It's not too big of a deal, but I think the Vax is better at getting stains out because the solution is soapier, and you have more control as to how much you use and how you can rinse it out.I would fully recommend making sure the machine is immaculate before you put it away. Clean the bristles especially - once debris and pet fur dries in them, they're impossible to clean when dry and it ruins the prolonging of the machines ability. I say this from experience! The extra time spent at the end is more than worth it.Overall - 4 stars. The hair spit outs are really annoying and overall I think it has a few niggles that really it shouldn't have, considering the price. I do really rate it though, for it's versatility, ease of use and how light and compact it is. I would say...it's better than my Vax for more frequent use, the Vax, though it's an absolute nightmare, does seem to clean deeper.

All in all I am totally blown away by this machine - we were about to replace our carpets with wooden floors - but now I'm going to save myself the expense. We have a one year old puppy who goes everywhere in the house, thus the thought about flooring, but having trialled this Bissell, I feel confident that I can deal with any stains or dirt on the carpets and keep them looking and smelling fresh and new.So - nitty gritty. Very easy set up - you need a cross head screwdriver to secure the handle and carry handle to the machine. Otherwise - just read the instructions, which are clear, and plug in and go. The top tank lifts off easily and has a screw off lid through which you fill the machine with hot water from the tap. This is topped up with one of the cleaning solutions provided. I have tried each one of the trial sized bottles provided and have been impressed in particular by the Oxy and Febreeze versions.I have found the machine easy to use. It is not light, as you would imagine given the water etc, but it is comfortable for me to move, use and even carry upstairs (I have slipped discs so this means it should be manageable for a lot of people). Cleaning the carpet requires you to move back and forward, slowly, with the spray control held in (it is part of the handle and I didn't find it difficult to hold - although it is a trigger mechanism - I think that unless you have severe arthritis, this would be fine for most). This releases the cleaning solution into the carpet. I found that two passes cleaned my beige carpets (3 years old, hoovered most days, but cheap carpets and a puppy!). You then pass back over the same areas a few times without the trigger held in - this is the drying part of the process. I was amazed at how dry this process left the carpets. They were slightly damp after a few passes with the machine - and after an hour or so (it is 30 degrees as we speak admittedly!) the carpets were very dry.I did have some bits of fluff that were spat out of the machine during the cleaning process, but so what?! I went back over them and it sucked them up and any that were left over were picked up by my regular vac when the carpet was dry. I have velvet curtains and a dog (as mentioned) so I think my expectation was that there would be a much less pleasing result! After the cleaning process you simply lift the clean and dirty water tanks out and unscrew / flip open the lids to tip out the dirty water and rinse them out. All of this was very easy.I have also used the supplied hose. This is attached to the bottom part of the machine and has a couple of nozzles that can be used either for stairs or for stubborn stains. I found this easy to use and effective. Note that it is vital to properly close the hatch again after you have used the hose attachment, or you won't get water suction when you next use it as an upright cleaner (yes, I was that idiot!).I have found that fluff gets stuck in the clear front part of the base of the machine - which was difficult to remove with the supplied tool, but it did eventually get flushed out with continued use. I haven't really completely worked out how best to keep the brushes clean yet either, but I am managing so far. The cord is a decent length. I will add photos to the review from my phone asap. If you have questions feel free to ask and I will do my best, but all up - I love this machine and I think it is good value.

We like many people are using lockdown to clean everywhere, we decided to buy rather than rent and so glad we did. Reviews on this are impressive and can verify that it does a great job of cleaning carpets. The instructions are all pictorial so I had to watch a few YouTube clips before I tackled the first carpet and it is so easy. The Bissell carpet cleaner comes with three different sample bottles (236ml) of carpet cleaner, Wash & Protect with Scotchguard, Wash & Refresh with Fabreze and Oxygen Boost for tough stains. We also purchased the 1.5l size of Wash & Remove Total with Fabreze and Scotchguard to come with the carpet cleaner. We only used two cap-fulls to do the stairs and landing carpetwhich equals two tanks of cleaner and the dirt that came out of what we thought was a fairly clean cream carpet was.... er scary but rewarding. One good thing about this cleaner is waste heat from the motor is used to help keep the cleaning solution tank warm so a nice touch. The suction is incredible, and the carpet is slightly damp after but felt touch dry after a couple of hours and the fresh fabreze smell is very pleasant. It certainly looks like we have a new carpet as it has also lifted the pile. The hardest bit is getting used to going slow and steady, but the results are worth it.This cleaner comes with the hose attachment and a 'crevis tool' and upholstery brush I used on the stairs but in hindsight wish I had purchased the additional tool from Amazon which would make the task easier. We have the lounge and dining room carpet to tackle next but have no hesitation in recommending this especially as it has a six-year warranty.Cleaning it after use is not too bad, rinse both the clean and dirty tanks and clean the brushes to remove fluff and the suction unit also needs rinsing.Update... 3rd of JuneNow finished the lounge carpet - amazing difference and we knew two areas needed to be cleaned by the doors, scary when you move furniture and see just how bad it is.In just one pass it made a difference, I did a couple to get all the dirt out and WOW.... Four and a half tanks of cleaner later and it looks like new. Totally transformed and the carpet smells fresh and feels so much better under foot.

I bought the Pet Pro Carpet cleaner (even though I don't have a pet) after looking at all the main models on Amazon and compaing them. Overall I'm very happy I went for this model - it's suction is far better than Ru gDoctor rentals and a lot easier to navigate.Assembly - not exactly difficult (only 4 things to do), but needs a screwdriver to screw in the holding handle at the back (if you want to carry it around, which you will from time to time) - the holding handle doubles as one side of the cord hold.Filling & emptying - Easy to fil with water and solution. Easy to empty the second tank when it gets full. When you've run out of water, the hoover starts to get noisier, which is useful. The containers for water are also fairly well made, so that you can acutally empty them fully. The dynamics inside are just well thought out.Cleaning - I had a couple of areas of ground dirt in my carpets, and really I didn't know they were that dirty overall, but it's pulled up all sorts from the carpets and now smells a bit like wet dog, so maybe the previous owners had a dog. Yeah, not ideal, but that tells me how good this machine is, as Rug Doctor never deep cleaned this well. The ground dirt is all but gone, but will probably need another clean - it was quite extreme though. I think all the other stains on my cream carpets (yeah, I know) have gone.Noise - yes, it's a bit noiser than my hoover, but I think thats because of the power of it. It's certainly not extreme or intolerable.Overall - I'm pretty happy I settled for this model, although I was a bit wary of the price tag of 250, but the quality of the clean and the ease of use make me think it's value for money and I will no longer need to lug one of those Rug Doctor's from Tesco and try to perform a 3-point turn with it - this carpet cleaner is closer to slightly heavier upright cleaner and pretty easy to manouvre.

This is just as good as professional cleaning and worth buying seen as you will pay more for your carpets to be professionally cleaned than you would for this alone. Yet of course this you only have to buy once. My carpets downstairs are extremely old and where badly stained between the previous tenants, the decorator who was constantly in and out of my home with dirty boots on and then my daughter spilling things. The only downside I can say is that it is heavy especially filled with water obviously bit kind of to be expected. I have ehlers danlos syndrome also so others may be a lot more sensitive to it especially as I have dyson cordless. The suction on this is amazing,I did carpets upstairs that are new and despite hoovering before doing so it still pulled up a lot of dust from them. Bissels cleaning products on their own are amazing with this even more so. The oxy boost especially. That will get out any stain on it’s own let alone added to the machine. The picture above is as said both extremely old and new stains. The picture was taken after only going over it just once, the second time it come out even better. The dirty water tank makes you cringe, as above I cleaned the new carpets upstairs and even the colour of the water from that was horrible despite looking clean. It’s worked on all kinds of stains and marks both known and unknown. The quick function is great and even the deep clean function doesn’t leave the carpets that wet . This is also a good buy for those with allergies and asthma, my daughter suffers from breathing issues constant airway infections and also needs inhalers, nebuliser and prednisone often but cleaning the carpets has helped a a lot with her symptoms. I will add more photos after the next time I use it as I forgot to take the photos of the other carpets. It actually becomes extremely addictive to do once you start cleaning.

This is an excellent carpet cleaner. When I ordered it I was unsure between it and the Vax Rapid Power Plus as both had good reviews on the internet. In the end I ordered the Bissell because Amazon were offering it on 5 equal monthly payments, and I am glad I did. The machine is easy to assemble and set up, although the instructions that come with it are useless and so I resorted to the internet to work out what all the switches do (and to find the on/off button which is in a non-intuitive location on the side of the machine). A lot of reviews say the machine is too noisy, but I do not agree and it is certainly quieter than a rental machine from Rug Doctor.Once I worked out how to use the machine I was cleaning carpets in a jiffy. I set it to deep clean and remembering to pull the trigger to release detergent between the rollers when pushing forward and releasing the trigger when pulling backward I had the living room caret cleaned in under ten minutes. It used a whole bottle of the sample solutions provided with the machine and the dirty water was literally disgusting - meaning it cleaned the carpet excellently. Even dried in orange juice stains came out effortlessly. Another ten minutes and the dining room was clean too, followed by the stairs. The stair nozzle requires some effort to use as it is not motorised and the hose is not long enough to reach a full flight of stairs, but it was easy enough to clean the top 3 stairs from above and the rest from below. The day after cleaning the living room the cat was sick on the carpet, but now instead of scrubbing with a cleaning spray I simply wiped up the mess then went over the area with the Bissell on express mode and after 3 passes all mess was gone. This is an excellent carpet cleaner in every way, and it would be even better with a slightly longer stair hose and a motorised stair brush.

Great carpet and upholstery cleaner, I did my carpets with ease, i like the extra cleaning shot button on the side, the brushes in the rollers make it thoroughly clean areas, its a little heavy but not too much of a problem. Tanks are easy to fill, empty and clean although I've lost the tool to get the fluff out not sure where to purchase another one. I have a 5 year old son with severe sensory issues and low functioning autism we have a sensory room for him and a couch, he got the couch really stained with all sorts of food items, chocolate and sauces and various things. I was doubtful that this would get all the stains up as the colour of the couch is turquoise blue.It left amazing results all I used was the small upholstery tool with the tiny white bristles, it needed the deep clean mode to be set and a few good sprays of water over the stains and a bit of a scrub with the tool but overall not too much hard work and amazing results, I dont normally write reviews but with results like this I felt I had to share. I would definitely recommend this bissell pet pro x2 carpet cleaner and I would highly recommend the pets cleaning solution as that gets rid of odours as well as stains it's the better one that's there out of the samples that you get with the unit, I went out and bought a bigger bottle of it for £15 for a 1.5L in argos or you can also get from amazon for the same price, there is another cleaning solution from bissell that has oxy in the solution aswell I think I will try that next it's a little more expensive but for the price I'd say the pets solution was perfect too that's just me being curious to try the other solution. I've attached a before, half way through and after picture just to show how great the results was.

I already have a very similar model but this one has more deluxe features.1. Button to spray cleaning mix directly in front of machine.2. Better range of hand tools including one for stairs!3. Brush assembly is easier to take apart for cleaning. With the name of the machine I assumed it may have an electric heater to heat the cleaning solution but like my other one it expects you to fill it with 3.7L of hot water (near the top of the machine so when handled tilted makes it heavy as all the weight is on your arm) and it then uses the waste heat from the motor to keep the flow to the brushes warm. The clean and dirty water tanks are pretty easy to fill with indicator lines on the tanks for the fill levels. The detergent is added after you put the water in.Like all such machines, they are a bit noisy and I have got used to cordless cleaners so keeping the mains lead out of the way is an old issue reborn. What seems a little primitive with this one and my other model is that the floor brushes keep rotating when it is upright rather than them stopping and thus when using the hose and tools it is best to stand the machine over a hard floor to prevent carpet damage. After you have finished using it you have to flush the solution tanks and nozzles with clean water and also allow time to clean the dirty water tank and the bottom brush bars which tend to collect old bits of soggy carpet fluff.A flexible stick is provided to help you fish the fluff out of the vacuum path over the brushes. The cleaning results are good but only the quick clean drys in an hour and the intensive one takes a lot longer. Suck up as much water as possible and follow the instructions to avoid making your carpet excessively wet.

Quite a big machine, it needs simple assembly, push and click together and one Phillips screw to hold it together. Not sure how it can be classified as light weight, it’s not too bad. Big foot on it means it won’t balance on stairs, a 2 person job.Easy to fill with solution, but the cup is in fluid ounces and the instructions in mls. !!!Fluid is added to the water in advance. Easy for the full deep clean amount marked on the measuring cup, but for express clean it’s 37ml and unmarked. What?It clicks together and apart easily, the hose clicks on positively, unlike the Vax units. The heated wash bit is upto you to pour in hot water, the machine doesn’t do it, as implied! In use,it is reasonably louder than a vacuum cleaner, but not as painful as the Vax is.A hand nozzle is supplied and another for Dog hairs, mostly it is a modified filter to catch the hair, which is removed, then the shampoo switch is slid across and you use it as a wet and vacuum nozzle. When you use the hose and nozzle, the brushes still turn, there is a warning about carpet damage. This is a terrible design fault, the Vax stops the brushes.I would recommend placing the unit on an old doormat to stop your main carpet being excavated whilst using the hose. Clumsy to move? Yes?The main unit has double roller brushes, they don’t come off for cleaning, the covers do for rinsing.A flimsy long comb comes for ‘combing’ the rollers, I doubt that would remove fibre, it’s back to fingers again, crouched over on the floor. Great for your back.

Overall -Positives:- Easy setup- Large waste water bin capacity- Lightweight enough to push and pull over thick carpet- Includes various tools and samples of solutionNegatives:- Exhaust fan blows onto the carpet (read below for further detail).- Small fresh water bin capacity- Limited instructions, refer to the website for full instructions- Brush rolls constantly run when using tools- Suction on some tools is poorOverall setup of the vacuum was quick and easy - the instructions are a bit "light" on information, but the manual available on their website is in more detail. Everything clicks into place with a solid feel and the aluminium wand is a nice touch.I WISH I had taken pictures of the carpet before cleaning them, because they look almost new! You can certainly feel the difference in terms of the plushness too and I was overall happy with the cleaning performance. In relation to the negatives - the waste water tank is a very good size, but I did find myself constantly filling up the fresh water bin (more often than I would like), but I was using the deep cleaning option. To use the additional tools, you need to attach the hose to the main machine and place it in a convenient location however be warned, the exhaust fan will be blowing onto the carpet and in my instance actually burned some of the carpet.Overall, even with it's flaws it is a good machine and comes with a six year warranty which is great!

Iv had my carpets professionally cleaned and I can bring my carpets up much better with this machine. Honest opinion ?? stair tool is brilliant - my stairs look so much cleaner! Have leather sofas so can’t comment on the upholstery cleaner. All round brilliant machine. Easy to set up and easy to empty. No too heavy but very loud! I got three bissell shampoo mini samples in my box which was a nice touch. All worked really well! I have two dogs one being ten months having the odd accident. This machine got rid of urine smells from the carpet and really freshened them up. Just remember when you empty the dirty water tank be careful emptying it down the sink as the machine acts as a hoover thus sucking up carpet fluff and hairs etc which ended up clogging up my sink drain a bit.The suction on it is brilliant! It sucks up the dirty water really well thus making the carpets dry quicker! Drying time will be dependent on the thickness/pile of your carpet. My lower pile carpets dried within the hour whereas my thicker, newer higher pile carpet took a few more hours. It took me an hour to do my stairs because I was very precise and took my time and it was worth the work as they look so much better. A standard double bedroom or living room you could do within 20 mins or so. Highly recommended and I think does a better job than rug doctor or any professional carpet cleaner !

Last week I cleaned our carpets with our old Vax carpet cleaner. I was having difficulty with the on/off switch, so realised it was time to start looking for a new machine. Having read many reviews I opted for the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution. As one of our animals was sick on our hall carpet the day after I had cleaned the carpets last week, I went ahead with the purchase of the Bissell and set to work on the hall carpet. Not only did it remove the sick stain totally, but the amount of dirty water from the rest of the carpet made me decide to clean the other carpets again too. Once again, the dirt in the collection tank was significant.Clearly this machine does a far better job than our Vax ever did.The thing that I also really like about the Bissell is that it can be properly cleaned after use, which I never managed with the Vax, however much I tried. Not only do Bissell supply a small flexible tool to remove debris from the suction spout, which works brilliantly (especially if you have long haired animals leaving fur deposits in the carpet pile), but also the waste water tank has a ring at the bottom that can be unscrewed so that the whole of the mechanism inside can be removed and the the tank and floats properly cleaned and dried.I am really delighted with this purchase, and feel it does a far better job than the old Vax.

Impressive cleaner, did a good job on our 20 year old carpets that haven't been cleaned for about 7 / 10 years or so. It does use a lot of water/shampoo though - emptied a full tank for every 6 Sq yards of carpet in deep clean mode (that's following the manufacturer's instructions of two cleaning and two suction passes). This then took over 24 hrs to dry - not tried the express cleaning mode yet (none of our carpets qualify for 'light' cleaning).I've tried the tools and they did a reasonable job on the heavy, dried-in stains (after 2 or 3 goes you can only just see where the marks were - and only because we were looking for them ... that's what you get for leaving it for 7 / 10 years between cleans). The 'clean shot' pre-treater seems like a gimmick, I was expecting some concentrated cleaner to come out but it's just the same shampoo solution that's in the clean shampoo tank - might as well just use the main jets between the rollers of the cleaner. Easy to refill the clean shampoo tank and to empty the dirty tank and the cleaner comes apart allowing easy access for cleaning after use. Overall quite satisfied with the performance - it's certainly put some 'life' back into our carpets.

This carpet cleaner was recommended to me by a friend. I needed a cleaner to sort my carpets out after three elderly dogs and a puppy! Once I pieced it together it was easy to use. I did find the picture diagrams a bit tricky but got there in the end. I bought the pet cleaner to go with it but it came with three small sample bottles, which would each do one small carpet clean. The carpets are now CLEAN!I cleaned a woollen carpet 4 metres by 4 metres and it took three fills of the water/liquid mixture. The machine is noisy and slightly heavy. I used the turbo Max program as my carpets needed a thorough clean. As the carpet was a high wool mix it took a while to dry but I had the windows open so after a few hours it was fine. When I had finished cleaning, it took a while to clean the bits of carpet that were sucked up, mainly because of the lack of instructions on how to clean the machine. There is a long thin grey tool and I found the hammer looking side easier to reach the fluff in the base. Now I have used it once and cleaned it up, it will be a lot easier next time. All important, the carpets look very clean so very pleased. I will try the upstairs carpets which aren’t wool, next.

I received this Carpet Cleaner on (30/3/18) quickly fitted it together & today (Sat 31inst) I tried it for the first time.I found it to be excellent. My previous Carpet Cleaner (different manufacturer) did very well considering I had used it as a re-conditioned machine for about 5 years. However it started to throw out water and appeared not to clean the carpet as expected. This BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Carpet Cleaner on it's first try performed excellently. The carpets were very clean after use. Certainly the clean water tank may not be the largest one on the market. This means re-fills may be fairly frequent, but I do not see this as a fault.I would rather have a cleaner that cleans the carpets excellently rather than one with a large clean water tank but a less efficient cleaner. This is not the cheapest carpet cleaner on the market, but for me I think to date it is well worth the cost.In addition it provides an excellent handy set of tools for cleaning furnishings but I found extremely useful the simple to very effective tool for removing the fluff from the base section of the machine. Finally I would thoroughly recommend this Carpet Cleaner.
