It's spicy - but that's from the charred ex-bourbon barrels. Probably the "spiciest" of the range in my opinion.But it's not artificially sweet, or had a bunch of clove and cinnamon added to it to "spice it up."You see, there's a lot of 'spiced' rums out there which try to fake the maturity, sweeten the hell out of it, and is still abrasive -This baby is a blend of rums THE MINIMUM which sat for 7 years in a warehouse.Make no mistake - this is a powerhouse rum and not for the faint of heart.It's smoothness will win you over. Not bad with ice but my preference is to mix this rum with coke and lime. It’s a blended golden rum from Trinidad and Tobago. There are sweet flavours with definite tastes of char, smoke, tar or burnt sugar in the mix - possibly down to the way it’s filtered? This is no bad thing and in my opinion tames some of the sweeter notes.If you’ve not tried it and don’t mind/like mixing your rums I’d give this a shot.

This bottle of rum doesn't taste like its price tag. It is an extremely smooth rum which is very sipable. Great for the rum drinker who is just starting out. It doesn't give you that ethanol taste. It doesn't compare to more expensive bottles of course but that is a completely different topic.For the taste and quality you would expect it to be around £50.I will definitely be buying this bottle again

I had no idea Angostura made rum, so I was more than curious to try it out. I have tried various aged rums around this price point, and I think this stands up very well to the competition. If you like Havana Club especial or perhaps the Diplomatico Mantuano, I don't think you will be disappointed. It has a delicate sweetness, and a pleasant toffee and banana aftertaste. Good neat or with a mixer.

I first came across this rum in Tobago and it set me on the path of sipping rums.Punches well above it's price tag. There are finer rums out there, I've tried a few now, but you'll pay a whole lot more for them. Highly recommended, great in a cocktail or on its own.

I normally drink Captain Morgan's spiced rum but after buying this for my boyfriend (me having a glass or two) I have no regrets. It is lovely and smooth, has a great taste and completely worth the money. I'm looking forward to my next purchase.

i had never tried rum before and bought this one solely because I'd heard of Angostura Bitters and hoped it would be a good one. I admit disappointed. Absolutely delicious on its own 'straight from the bottle', I would definitely recommend

Unbelievably delicious! Such a unique rum taste - nothing like a normal rum. This is special - if you are thinking about purchasing this just go for it, you won’t be disappointed!

I usually buy the older rum in this range but this is just as nice and not nearly as expensive. Angostura rums beat all other makes hands down.

Great tasting rum for money smooth. I tried this neat with ice. Also with Pepsi and cinnamon stick. Very delicious
