Had lots of fun making this model. Was a little bit fiddly to get the hands to move cleanly and to insert the gears, but unlike other reviewers I had no issues with the instructions or quality. In fact, I thought it was a well presented kit and found it good value. It worked without issue, and has now been gently ticking away in the corner for the past hour, displaying the time correctly.I don't really have a lot of experience with modelling, and it took about 3 hours while watching a movie to complete this kit. While I think that the instructions could be re-ordered to make final assembly easier, this doesn't diminish the enjoyment and the model is satisfying to finish.

This is amazing, got it the wife for Christmas as she loves puzzles so I thought this would be a step up. This is a great introduction into Ugears as it is challenging but not too challenging. (got the father in law the train which is much more complex)Took about 4 hours to build and I have to say, the finish product is simple amazing, it looks great.She has since brought the Combine Harvester which is slightly more complex.A few tips, make sure you have a craft knife to get the parts out, a small saw blade came in handy to trim down the parts that need cutting, a white candle to wax the moving parts and finally a bit of ply to build it on.

I have become a convert to these U Gears models. I have now done about 5 of them of varying difficulty. Some reviewers have mentioned problems with quality, but each kit I have received has been fine. Similarly some people have mentioned the poor quality of the instructions. I actually found the instructions excellent, but you have to really study them, it is quite easy to miss a small detail. However if you look carefully, all the required information is there. I would highly recommend these models. For anyone contemplating doing one, I would suggest that they start with a simpler cheaper model before moving on to a bigger more complex one.

This is the 2nd flower I’ve bought. I spray painted the first gold before assembly but such are the close tolerances in the assembly, it gummed up the mechanics - my fault. I’ve left the 2nd one unpainted and it works but the movement was stiff to start with and I feared the base might break with the force needed. All is OK now. It looks stunning and should open up to reveal something lovely such as jewellery/watch etc. I’m intending to have coloured tissue paper on the inside which opens up with the petals.

This is a lovely little kit, I bought for my 8 year old daughter who loves making things. Some bits were fiddly and she needed my help but she loved the end result.You must use the supplied wax to lubricate where indicated, otherwise the mechanism is too stiff. Some of the pieces are quite hard to fit together simply because they are a tolerance fit to prevent them from coming apart.Recommended.

Loved the look once built, as it was my first kit it took some fiddling with the gears and I liked the 2 options of the centre piece, I used metallic wax's to colour it and added crystals.Every one thinks I'm so clever :-).Tried to add picture but wouldn't work :-(

It was not too difficult to assemble, although the waxing of the moving parts is a bit fiddly at first. Was fun putting it together and did not take so long as to get boring. Finished model looks great on the shelf. Would recommend.

I loved doing it .it was great the only thing I did not like was some of the bits were hard to get out and they broke but saying that I have bad hands and I can't feel things but it was great

I am really satisfied with this product, it is very good looking, the "smell" of the wood is very nice and it is easy to assemble. A very good item for an out of the ordinary gift.

In terms of ease of construction, this is very good, very precise parts just click together with minimal trimming/sanding. Only took 3 hours!

If you are a fan of 3D puzzles and models then this is a must.It can be constructed alone or with children from about 8 years on.

It was hard to build sand the instructions weren't very clear so now it doesn't do the clockwork part of it

This item was delivered the next day, really well packaged, spent a lovely afternoon assembling it, superb.

UGEARS have never failed me, I have 5 models so far and have enjoyed assembling each and everyone of them.
