Scanned through he reviews on this and was not sure whether to gamble with the purchase ... but threw caution to the wind and got one.Upon arrival the packaging was tiny , two small sheets of steel in a cardboard envelope , the pieces looked minuscule and I thought there was no way I was going to get that done .... now this is not for a young child (after all it does not plug in or require battery's), neither is it a large model that will look stunning as the centre piece in a display cabinet.Dived in and thought bugger it , the instructions are on one easy and simple to follow sheet, no real written instructions just pictures and numbers ,but its simplicity itself and you'd be hard pushed to go wrong. Now I am a big bloke with fingers thicker than really thick finger type objects, and I don't have a great deal of patience , but this was a joy to do , sure its fiddly, yes with some of the pieces you really need to be able to shrink down the the size of the guys from "Innerspace" (Antman size , for the Marvel generation comparison ) , a group of Dwarf Bonzii Miniature Lepricorns would struggle with some ... but it's not impossible. Sure you will curse the name of George Lucas for passing this design for the Millennium Falcon, you'll question the need for some of add-ons that this ship has, and you'll wonder why some of the tech guys didn't mention to Lucas that, not only is that silly looking, but not scientifically possible. But no matter how much swearing and gnashing of teeth is involved, no matter how times tiny metal parts dig into your fingers , or you drop unseamingly small parts into an infeasibly long shag pile carpet ... nothing , but nothing , beats that feeling of pride as you click those final parts into place , stand back ( not too far ) and think "I did that !"To help make this I used a screwdriver (the shaft helped with shaping the curves) , small tweezers (helps with the bending) , and a pair of needle nosed pliers ( helps when twisting the tabs) .... of and it helps me having fingernails. All in all I guess it took me in total about 2 to 2.5 hours , but seemed a lot less.Would I do another ? Hell yes , Star Trek USS Enterprise sitting next to me

These models are truly excellent. Are they small and fiddly? Yes, sure, bnut that's often what model making is all about.I've read a bunch of low-star reviews of these models which all boil down to the fact that the person making the model could not do a good job. Now, that's not the model's fault is it? Would you blame the paints and brush for being poor because you failed to paint a masterpiece first time out? Of course not.I've made a few of these models and the details are just great. They are intended to be hobby models and not intended as stand-out centrepieces.Take your time and add a little patience. Some are more intricate than others so maybe start with a simpler square edged model like Big Ben to get a feel for what these are all about. The reviews often recommend needle node pliers. Sometimes even those are not delicate enough and pointed tweezers work better. A good magnifier can often help too.Stick with them people, these little models are a revelation. Working my way through the Star Wars set and expecting new ones to come along soon from the new movie...

WOW! What a great product! Saw a metal earth video on YouTube by Daniel 'Nerdcubed', and thought 'that looks like fun...' so I bought one and got it the very same day, then spent the next four hours into the early hours of the next day building it!It's such a fun build, and for anyone that is a fan of such things like: Meccano, Lego, Kinnex or Airfix, it's great fun!Be warned though, it is highly addictive and I guarrenty that you will go out and buy four more after finishing your first (just like I have done) and you need steady hands and big patience. It's not an easy thing to do, you will go wrong and there will be times when you think "How the frig am I supposed to do that?!"However, once you finish it you will be delighted and super proud. If you have any hesitations about buying it, do it! They are extremely cheap in comparison to other building projects and have loads of licensed project that appeal to everyone! Thanks for reading!

I always used to build models as a child - I'm in my fifties now and I still love making things and building things. This tiny, intricate, and incredibly detailed model of the iconic Millennium Falcon has to be one of the most enjoyable models I have ever made. With some parts being only a few millimetres long and all parts having tabs that are only about 1.5mm long, you really do need a steady hand, lots of patience, and good lighting! Lots of bending, curling, and folding over of tiny tabs was required. I used a pair of long nosed pliers, a pair of mini snips, a good pair of tweezers and a jewellers loupe to build the kit.The jewellers loupe definitely helped.I didnt have any real problems assembling the kit - it took me about three - three and a half hours and it all fitted together with a high degree of precision. It really was a nice relaxing way to pass a Sunday afternoon :-)I think I am going to be buying more of these!

My first Metal Earth project. was amazed by the detail on the metal plates and needing only a pair of needle nose pliers.PROSLooks great, comes with own standNo tools required, only needle nose pliers (I used tweezers myself)Completed in a few hours one lazy afternoon.MIXEDSome of the smaller pieces which needing curving can break if attempted too many times (I found a few pieces I had done inside out suffered this fate) Also found one of the easier ways to curve pieces is around a pencil or screwdriver. If you're not careful you can prick your skin with the tabs, so if buying for a younger person - SUPERVISECONSThe instructions are very detailed and there are lots of pieces,so sometimes it can take a while to find the correct piece. Not the easiest to remove from the metal sheets, be careful not to break any tabs off

I was very impressed with the quality of this product. This was my first metal earth build and I found it easy to follow and well designed.Yes this is fiddly and has very small parts. Yes you will need tools like tweezers and small cutters to get the prices out of the sheets clean. You’ll need steady hands and good eyesight.I had no lost pieces and no bits broken whatsoever. The model looks great when finished. It took me 4 hours with a few rest breaks for my eyes. I took it very slow and read the instructions twice before attempting each stage.I will definitely be buying more metal earth models!

These are quite honestly the best little models i've seen in a long time. Every little detail has been added and the surface texture detail on the metal is exquisite. I have 3 of these so far (all Star wars) and have enjoyed every moment of making them. The end result is amazing but you do need patience, a steady hand and confidence especially with the very small pieces. I accepted these as a challenge and just can't get enough of them. I will be collecting more of these in the future without doubt. I can highly recommend these to anyone but be aware they are quite fiddly.

These kits are great fun to make, the instructions are quite straightforward (make sure to look at the 360° view on the website), and the completed models are very detailed and look really good. You do have to be very careful when constructing them though - they are very fiddly, and I wouldn't recommend them if you don't have a lot of patience. Needle nose pliers and wire cutters come in handy when making these models. The Millenium Falcon Metal Earth model is particularly nice - it's covered in lots of little details, and the stand makes it very easy to display it.

I purchased this from UKWoodcases4you through Amazon, and although pleased with the product which I received, it is not a genuine Metal Earth product, as advertised. I received a slightly inferior Chinese import. If I had not previously constructed a genuine Metal Earth model I think I would have struggled to assemble this one. All the instructions are in Chinese and although working mainly from diagrams, there are various helpful techniques required for assembly, which the genuine Metal Earth models give you but are unintelligible with this import.

Don’t bother reading all the negative reviews. Yes this is a small model, yes it is difficult with the size of it, yes you do need lots of patience!! The quality is very good, the detail and workmanship gone into creating this model is a brilliant piece of engineering. I am now on the lookout for another, maybe the x-wing. All in all, a nice Sunday afternoon treat to take your mind away from the world while reminiscing about your miss spent youth loving everything about Star Wars.

My second build. Would have preferred a.slightly bigger model since r2d2 sems to dwarf it a little but all these kits cleverly use the same size sheets. All cut totally accurately and with super detail. A challenging and detailed model which took me about 8 hours. I will find it difficult to resist making the four in the Star Wars collection and I have the Model T waiting. Brilliant models requiring care and patience but resulting in a lovely model.

Some of the parts are extremely small and to bend them into the desired shape can be very fiddly. Also the instructions say to bend some of the pieces but it's doesn't say how far so can take a little time adjusting. If you take your time and use a lot of patience the effort is worth it as it looks amazing.Would recommend doing this under a lamp with a defused light tho as being metal it reflect the light which adds another layer of difficulty :)

21.1.2016

Sure it's small but, hey, fun doesn't come in sizes. This is nimble fingered work that you need to have the hands of a child (NB Do not buy this for a child!!!) to complete or you will spend hours cursing your sausage fingers. Inevitably though, you will get to the point of completion.....let out a Wookiee type cry, stand a few centimeters away and take pride in your creation.......before ordering yourself the x-wing as your next mission!

Precision laser cut metal spruces. Not as easy as it looks as parts are small. It is very satisfying putting together these models and time flies by.End results are excellent, and the completed pieces are excellent conversation starters.Recommended for all adults (Small metal parts, not really suitable for young children) especially old fogeys like me who want to pass a few enjoyable hours. An inexpensive form of entertainment.

A great gift for a Star Wars fan. I brought this kit as a present and have not as yet seen it assembled or cannot comment on how easy it is to assemble - time will tell ! It is quite a small packet and the model looks quite intricate and I am imagining a bit of patience will be required to make it but it should be well worth the effort. For the price it makes an ideal "stocking filler" for anyone who is a Star Wars fan.
