Excellent little kit, built in an afternoon. The parts are extremely precise and it all fits together well. Some pieces were a little too tight and I managed to snap a few of the included cocktail sticks during assembly but thankfully they give you about twice as many as you actually need. A few of the bits were rather hard to pop out or fit together for my sausage fingers but I got there in the end. Only giving 4 stars because the final few steps where you have to fit the axels into the frame involve some pretty brutal flexing of parts which wasn’t a pleasant experience after all the hard work you’ve put in and you don’t want anything to snap. A brilliant little piece of engineering. I am genuinely astonished that a model engine made entirely out of wood actually runs when you blow (quite hard) into it. The design of the engine block is very clever, with air channels pre cut, and there is a timing rod controlling air entry and exit from both ends of the cylinder, meaning the cylinder is in fact double action.

Good model bigger than I thought takes awhile to make and is a bit fiddly but most enjoyable afternoon and a bit more spent building it. Make good use of the candle wax and the fine sand paper. All works and it looks very good shame it does not come with a balloon, wax and sand paper. Well worth it looking forward to my next one.

Good quality for a good price. However, it's much harder than it looks (I think 12 year olds would have difficulties building this alone) and the pieces could easily break if one is not careful. Also, the end product is smaller than I anticipated. Nevertheless, it worked and my boyfriend had a lot of fun building it.

A bit fiddly for an 89 yo, fingers are not as agile as they were/ However, the precision cut pieces fit together perfectly if care is taken. Make good use of fine sandpaper e.g. on corners of tenon joints also candle wax to aid assembly particularly small parts on the toothpicks.Next project, tractor and trailer.

This went together well, apart from the three occasions I wasn't paying attention to the diagrams, and assembled parts in the wrong order. This is when not using glue is a good idea. Some parts would be better glued, such as the pistons on the spindles, but these are fairly easy to re-adjust when required.

This is a replica of a steam engine, created entirely of wood. This model was easy to build, everything slotted together as shown in the instructions, and works perfectly. I cannot see the requirement for the two drawers, although there is probably a reason for them being there.

Bought this for my grandad as he loves building models. He got on great with it, it could be even better if it provided the balloon that it needs to work as my grandad had to go out and buy a whole pack for 1 balloon

Bought as a Christmas gift. Arrived on time and in perfect condition. Though when completed the balloon didn’t inflate as pictured. But apart from that my husband enjoyed the construction and completing the model.

Purchased as a gift for my 55 years old brother. As it's a gift I can't give a proper review yet. But it was well packaged and from what I can see 8t certainly looks a high quality item.

superb model kit, easy to follow instructions but detailed enough for the seasoned model maker. Exactly as described and arrived on time.

Husband enjoyed putting it together but the joins are not really airtight enough for it to work. Looks good though.
