This is an idea filler putty for plastic and even balsa wood models. It's a little less forgiving than Tamiya Basic Putty, with a quick drying time, and dries a little softer and is sometimes brittle after curing. This makes it slightly less effective for creating Zimmerit patterns on tanks, but is ideal for mottling and roughing the surface of plastics to create a more realistic "metal effect" finish. For plastic, it can be mixed with poly cement to give a slightly longer working time, and greater adhesion. For balsa, mixing it with a clear balsa cement will give you a firmer drying finish that's more receptive to sanding. For the price point, it can't be beat.If you're thinking about experimenting with plastic putties on your models, but aren't quite ready to fork out for tiny tube of Tamiya Putty, this is a great product to experiment with while you get familiar with the product.

This is fantastic stuff for any number of modelling purposes.Ive used to fill in gaps between model plane wings and the main body of a plane. You can mix it on a pallet and then apply it to the model using a scalpel or thin piece of plastic.I tend to leave it over night to mature and then rub it down smooth with wet and dry sandpaper. Make sure you rinse all the sanding dust from the model, you don't want that to ruin your paint job.I've also used to create damage on tank bodies, you can create great metal tears or dents using the putty and letting it partially mature before toying at it with a cocktail stick, scalpel or drill bit. They aren't joking when they say use in a ventilated room,3 seconds and you'll know what I mean.

I've recently started using this filler for plastic kits due to disappointment with another make. I found this Revell filler does the job extremely well, though larger holes or gaps need an extra application or two due to slight shrinkage. It dries very quickly and is very easy to smooth with either a file or wet & dry paper. And following application the filling didn't show through a cover coat of paint, and there was no difference in colour either. I've used this filler for the Tamiya Lancaster kit, and it also works ok with polythene toy soldiers, provided they are properly cleaned first. My overall opinion is I wouldn't now use any other filler for kits...well, after all,the Revell adhesive is fab too!

Previously, I had been suckered into buying Games Workshop's so-called 'Liquid Greenstuff' for filling in gaps etc on my models, but... It didn't remain liquid or usable very long even though I followed instructions and kept the lid closed and stored it at the right temperature! So, I new I needed an alternative and plastic is fitting the bill very nicely! It comes out smoothly and is easy to apply. So far I have been met with minimal shrinkage and it sands down very well making a near seamless surface for painting once the model is ready. I will very likely be buying more of this when I run out!

Plan, plan, plan. Whatever you do plan your work BEFORE mixing this filler. It sets very, very quickly ... and I mean quickly. Brilliant filler, easy to shape and drill, but don't get it where you don't want it to go ... like on your clothes like I did the first time, or over fine surface detail as it's a pig to get off. Mix only what you need for the next 30 seconds or you will end up wasting a lot. Little tip for modelers; mix a couple of drops of ink or grey acrylic paint in the mix to help blend it into plastic kit base colour, gives a better finish which makes painting easier.

As a model making fanatic, I need to have a tube of this filler at hand. I've used it for years. This Revell filler is of average consistency, it will even out uneven surfaces and fill small holes. But it is too soft, too oily to deal with larger holes in one go. So I have different filling options for that.Few issues I have; It doesn't dry that quickly so you'll have to wait at least half a day before applying paint. Moreover I only need to use it a couple of times a year, as a result an opened tube tends to dry out every few years.

Arrived well before expected delivery. Surprised as it was very runny straight from the tube and practically useless. After some trial and error found it best to squeeze some onto a dry card or similar and leave for a few seconds to thicken. Once thickening starts use a cocktail stick to apply to fine details that need filling in plastic models. Work quickly as the "paste" thicken to being practically being unusable win a matter of a minute or so. Once applied leave to hardened. Sanding is relatively easy.

Been using this today to cover the seam lines in a airfix kit I'm doing. As another review said this stuff does become unworkable very quickly. My method is to have the area ready to go pop a little of this onto a suitable surface, a really quick stir with a toothpick then use the toothpick to apply to the model. Then use the side of the toothpick as a rolling pin to secure it so it doesn't flake during sanding. This works really well I'm very impressed I will be buying again.

I like this stuff because it's relatively soft so it's easy to sand and clean up on styrene plastic models without sanding too aggressively. It does sometimes take a couple of applications and working time is short, plus you need some ventilation. However, it dries fast and you can get some nice results with some practice (it can go on a little globby making clean up harder). It is best for fairly small gaps. For larger gaps, two part epoxy is better.

This is very very good putty. There is allot in the tubeIt dries incredibly quick so make sure you planWhen it has dried fully it can be sanded down to a nice finishThis is a must have for airfix and revell model kits as they don't always go together to well.If you have any questions please comment or ask section**if you found this review helpful please click yes underneath**

Needed this after having a newfound desire to get back into scale modeling for the first time since I was a child. Granted, back then, I didn't have access to knowledge and tutorials that I do now. If only I knew of this filler 20 years ago. But none the less, I've used this on a Revell 1/144 Saturn V scale model, to hide some seams and smooth things out--worked like a charm.

Best plastic filler I've used, I have used this to fill the screw holes in a model Star Wars Blaster I was building and with gentle sanding it worked perfectly. It took about 2 days to be properly solid. As you can see from the pic you can hardly see any of the holes on the finished model.

Best putty ever. I do plastic models and clay and resin sculpture. And this product meets my expectations. I have tried some other putty but this fits perfect with my work and hobbies.Very fast dry, perfect for sand paper, smooth surface.

have used plasto for years for my models one word of advice. use in thin layers and let totally dry between coats. or it will eat through your plastc model with it being cellulose based. other than that it sands to a nice smooth finish

Brought this to fill a gap in my airfix model, it worked a treat. To any model maker its great for filling gaps on plastic models. The packing could have been better as it arrived a bit battered and squashed, but it did arrive on time.
