We have just bought this kettle and are basically pleased with it. However other feedback commented on the risk of steam escaping round the on/off switch. Other feedback dismissed this. However this morning I experienced this steam issue even though the kettle was only filled to the minimum mark. I have inspected the empty kettle and can find no obvious way that steam can escape, other than from or via the thermostat tube, which has places from where steam might escape. I shall keep the kettle and just be sure to hold the top of the handle.

Great kettle, the only slight issue is fairly hot steam comes out where the switch is as you pour, if you're aware of this and hold the handle higher up you'll be fine .. it's not that bad that I'd say 'don't buy' because the rest of the kettle is brilliant for the price (fast, good looking, and seems solid enough), just something to be aware of.

Love this kettle. Pours nicely, is quite and boils quickly. I was nearly put off ordering it from the negative reviews some people gave it but I’ve not found anything negative to say about it. One comment was that steam comes from the on/off switch and this will happen if the kettle is over filled - so don’t over fill it and it’s fine.

After changing our kitchen to Retro/American Diner sort of we choose these as we know people who have them.fit in well work well.Kettle a little noisy compared to oyr old one but minor.lights up blue when boiling .like this alot.also purchased the toaster,microwave , t , coffe, sugar pots and automatic bin...

I personally like Swan products so with this new addition l have completed my selection.Boils water quite fast. Value for money and a great looking kettle.Little bit noisy but is easily overlooked as it boils quite fast.Happy with this product and would recommend to others

It is a quality product but the colour is not as shown on line. It's in reality just a rather chilly pale blue. not the warm slightly cornflower colour suggested onscreen. It doesn't really match but I don't have time to send it all back. And my old kettle had broken!

I love the retro design and the colour ...I chose pink, but my only dislike is the lid, it isn't a flip lid, it is also more noisier when boiling the water and once its boiled, there is a clicking noise for a few seconds...

Kettle is perfect style for our kitchen but isn't a silent one as it sounds more like a plane taking off! Apart from this it boils quickly and pours without any problems. If you don't mind the noise it is a good kettle.

Looks good and operates well. Colour is true to the image. Only slight issue I have is that the lid doesn’t remove easily for refilling. Not a major problem but it’s unnecessarily stiff to remove. Operates quietly

I really love this compact looking neat kettle, my only criticism is that it’s much noisier than my previous baby blue Breville kettle. The lid tends to wobble and squeak when the kettle is reaching boiling point

This is my second kettle, previous kettle developed faulty, I contacted amazon who contacted Swan in one phone call and a brand new kettle arrived next day. What a fabulous service. Thank you Swan and Amazon.

My previous kettle was smeg. It was replaced 5 times in 2 years under guarantee. It was £130 This Swan is equally as beautiful to look at, equally effective and at nearly a third of the price. I love it.

This kettle we have now is very similar to previous one of this make we had but a few changes made improve the item one niggle is I have been trying to get my free extra years warranty with no success ?

this is a better design than our last retro kettle. better pouring spout and sensible handle.The lightis useful when switched on,so that you know exactly how much water is in it. highly recommended.

I loved the kettle very much and colour,Only fault i found was the lid was slightly out of line so appeared it was lopsided just a touch.slightly noisy when first switched on.I would still recommend
