Games for smaller consoles usually end up being platform games. Spider-Man 2 is no exception. You are given the missions in Chapters - and then you're graded on them depending on whether or not you kept to the objectives.Having only gotten 21% of the way done (currently trying to thwart Mysterio), I can't really give a detailed review. But I can say some things.The action is good, Spidey leaps, kicks, punches and web-slings in impressive motions. The graphics aren't as good as the other gaming platform versions, but for the game it is, it's good enough. Spidey Sense is much like The Matrix' "Focus" - using it will slow time, allowing you to dodge attacks and throw a few fast punches.However it only lasts a few seconds, so if you're not careful you could get a nasty hit. The fact that you're being timed adds an element of excitement - you have to rush to save these people and fight the bad guys. It's also refreshingly addictive. When on a chapter, you have to finish it, but then you get brought to the next chapter - you just have to finish this game!Unfortunately, there are some bad points to the game. In my opinion, the voices of the people screaming to be saved is one of them. It can be rather frustrating to hear "Help, please!!" and "HELP, Spider-Man!!" (women and men respectively) constantly when in the vicinity of a victim. However it's strangely great to hear each one as you save them say "Thanks, Spider-Man!"Also I found the controls a bit confusing - wanting to web-sling at one point I hit the wrong button and landed in fire. which, of course, is very bad for Spidey.Overall, the game is very enjoyable and highly addictive, but only buy if you have time to kill or are looking for something your kids will find amusing for a while.

Spider-Man 2 is a platformer, slick 3-D graphics, tense levels, awesome fights, cool moves-the epitome of the platforming genre. Out of Rayman, Mario and Spidey, I would have to go with Spidey. Why? Because not only do I love this game, it's new!!! Super Mario 64 DS and Rayman DS were old games re-booted to a new system, and this entire game is brand new!!! It's a platforming game without the fiddly bits-which makes it a game you should really try-and is just 'run through the levels with awesome (if a LITTLE repetitive) fights, and you can unlock new moves for Spider-Man to use-broadening your fighting techniques. Making it worth that dosh! Yes, the fighting is a little samey and the levels are linear,but the time limits and pretty much everything else make me come back to this again and again!Dual screen-A like how it's a menu of Spidey's moves on the bottom, better than a map. 4/5Touch screen-Not the best, as you just flick thru your moves which isn't fantastic. 2/5Difficulty-Some of the levels I found really hard. 4/5Lifespan-It depends how good you are at the game, really. 3/5FINAL VERDICT!!!-A fantastic platformer, but the only thing that draws this from getting top marks-are the linear levels and samey fights. 4/5

both my boys (5&11) love this game. A bit difficult for the 5 yr old though
