... is better with a friend or two. There are two main options for this game- single player- multiplayerOnce you have registered your game-name and chosen your icon you can start playing. If you are unsure of how to play a specific game all you need to do is click on the rules tab at the bottom of the screen and scroll through at your own pace. The rules are, predominately, easy to understand.--- MULTIPLAYER ---This is one of those wonderful games where only one player requires a single DS cartridge for up to 7 friends in the same room to play against each other on a free LAN download; or for up to seven friends over the Nintendo WFC (Nintendo WiFi Connection).I have not played it over the WiFi so I do not if there is any delay in the game play.It is great fun when you and your family or friends are on the move, or when others are hogging the console and you want a quiet bit of friendly competition.--- SINGLE PLAYER ---This option gives you 3 choices:* Free Play* Stamp* MissionMost of the games have 4 players - 3 CPU players and you.* StampYou work your way through all the available games on either Easy, Normal or Hard. Before you can move onto the next game you must achieve 3 stamps on the current game.In games where there are 4 players the one who finishes in 1st place will receive 3 stamps, 2nd place 2 stamps and 3rd and 4th places will receive 1 stamp. In games where you are against a single CPU player the winner receives 3 stamps and the loser 1 stamp. So it is possible to progress regardless of how bad you are (in my case it's Blackjack, I'm just grateful it's not real money, and Hasami Shogi). If you already have 2 stamps on a game and you then win 3 stamps then 2 of those stamps will carry over to the next game giving you an advantageous start on the next set of stamps - something which is very handy when you hit that game that you just can't get the hang of.This "mission" series is a great way of trying games without becoming bored with them as the maximum times you have to play them is 3 before you can move on.* Free PlayChoose a game from any of the available game groups:--- Basic Card Games- Old Maid, Spit, I Doubt It, Sevens, Memory, Pig--- Intermediate Card Games- Blackjack, Hearts, President, Rummy, Seven Bridge, Last Card, Last Card Plus--- Advanced Card Games- 5 Card Draw, Texas Hold'em, Nap, Spades, Contract Bridge--- Basic Board Games- Chinese Checkers, Checkers, Dots & Boxes, Hasami Shogi, Turncoat, Connect 5, Grid Attack--- Advanced Board Games- Backgammon, Chess, Shogi, Field Tactics, Ludo--- Variety Games- Soda Shake, Dominoes, Koi Koi, Word Balloons--- Action Games- Bowling, Darts, Balance, Billiards, Take Over--- Single Player Games- Solitaire, Escape, Mahjong Solitaire* MissionIn this section there are 30 tasks to complete and they range in difficulty. For example the first game is "I Doubt It" but the twist is you have to correctly call "Cheater" 5 times before any of the CPU players do. The second is to clear the "Memory" board in under 3 minutes and so on. Each completed task opens a new player icon. The games are a great distraction on journeys (bus or train), or if you have to spend time in waiting rooms or you have the misfortune to endure a hospital stay.Overall the games are a great distraction for the individual player, but the free LAN download makes if great fun for a group of friends to play.

I have had this game for a while now, and I think it's definitely one of the DS games that will continue to be in and out of the DS for a while to come. There is a really good variety of games in here, really something for everyone- card games, board games, action games, single player, sports.. it is surprisingly complete, and despite there being 42 games, they really almost all play fine on DS.There is alot of in-depth tutorial in game if you need it, and this can be looked at at any time while you're playing too.The obvious aspect of the game is that there are the games that can be played multiplayer- or vs CPU if there are no humans to play. This works fine, though playing cards etc vs CPU isn't that satisfying,it is good anyway. The single player only games work well though- my favourite is a game where you have a square with several bricks in it and you have to slide them to release a special brick, I find it really hard but very addictive.Aside from cards and there are also the action games- some of these are "Balance", where you take turns balancing bricks on a see-saw and whoever makes it fall down loses.. It is very fun on multiplayer and the DS makes this possible with the touch screen in a way that makes it really satisfyingly interactive. There is also a game where you have to hit a little rock onto numbered squares, you take turns and whoever has the highest score is the winner.. but you can knock other people's rocks off to get their points.. again fun on multiplayer. The lone player can either play any game at their leisure (you can on multi too), or else you play through them all sequentially unlocking a few as you go (these are included in the "42" by the way!).Some nice features are the online multiplayer- if you have no friends with the game, or no one to trade friend codes with, you can play random strangers and can comminicate only with pre set phrases and faces etc, but if you add people as friends you can scribble to each other Pictochat style messages. The games are playable on multiplayer with one game only too, so you can easily play some quick cards or something with any DS owning friend, even if they don't own the game. They can download any of the 42 games onto their DS too- it stays until they power off. There are a few incentives in game like different board/card graphics, different icons to put by your name, music, etc which is always nice, but the bulk of the game is already there for you. It's a very good game, and if you enjoy puzzle games, card games, board games, etc, then I recommend this. Unlike most puzzle games or even most card game games, if you get tired of something, there are always a lot of other things you can be doing on it! And for multiplayer it's timeless. For negative points, a few of the 42 games don't work well- mainly billiards. It's no great loss really, but it has horrible physics.Really any complaints of the game boil down to whether you like the particular game or not, and I don't know how you play alot of the games so I can't complain! If you have the patience to learn them I think they are worth it.

Clubhouse Games is the latest entry in the Nintendo Touch Generations label. These games exist outside the norm of gaming. They're usually non-games, or outside-the-box titles, that are meant to appeal to a wider audience than most games target. Nintendogs for pet lovers, Brain Age for those interested in puzzles, and so on and so forth.Clubhouse Games might very well be the strongest entry into the genre yet. A collection of 42 awesome card, board, and variety games, Clubhouse Games is perfect for single players, a group of friends, or online matchups. The game list is impressive, spanning from the usual staples such as Poker and Blackjack and Solitaire to the rarer things like Go, Hanafuda,Field Tactics (stratego) and others. The list is already covered in reviews, so I won't reiterate. The game shines with a simple, plain display that allows you to easily manipulate the controls for all of the card and board games. The games themselves come with detailed rules, and tips should you desire them. Given that some of these games can be pretty obscure, it's a nice addition. And refreshing your memory never hurts. The only problem is the games that are more action-oriented. Billiards and bowling are almost impossible to control with dependable accuracy, unless your hands have control of surgeon-level quality (I beat Trauma Center, I know what I'm talking about. =D). It's frustrating, given that tighter control would have made them standouts. As it is, I'll play it when I'm bored, or a friend wants to play that one with me.As for the multiplayer options, that's half the reason to get this game. Not only are most (if not all) of the games single-cart multiplayer, but every game can be played online, as well. And included with the game is an online version of PictoChat, the amazingly addictive little chat client bundled into the firmware of every DS.This pictochat comes complete with paint and stamp options, though some colors have to be unlocked. In fact, many of the bonuses for this game are unlockable: some of the games need to be opened, as do half the avatars, extra chat colors, and whatnot. But exploring all the game modes will open up most of them, and certainly all the important ones.Yes, Clubhouse Games seems like the usual shoddy card-game compilation. But I assure you it's much more. It's 42 games that range from average to impressively deep, and at such a high number (42!) you'll be spending lots of time with it, especially if you have a gaming companion.

I bought this game based on the good reviews and the fact that I generally love the more "grown up" puzzle style games available for the DS. This one seemed particularly appealing as it offered the opportunity to play many different games in one. When I first started to play it I was initially disappointed. There were many games (particularly some of the card games) I had never heard of or didn't know how to play, so I spent the first few hours pretty much sticking to solitaire and mahjong and feeling like I had been cheated a little. However, I soon decided to get stuck into a few of the other games and before I knew it, I was getting hooked on several of them! The instructions for most of the games are straighforward and easy to understand, so dont be put off by the prospect of having to "read up" on some of the games you have never played before. However, a beginner to some of the harder games like Chess may be a little daunted by the complicated set of instructions. The easiest way to force yourself to learn and enjoy all of the games is to play the game in "Stamp" mode. This requires the player to go through each game one by one in order to collect enough stamps to complete the game.My main criticism is that one or two of the games seemed to me to be either a bit pointless, or not very user friendly. For example "Soda Shake" is quite idiotic, and all it involves is taking it in turns with the CPU to "shake" a bottle of soda until it pops its cork. Darts could have been quite enjoyable, but it is quite impossible to ever come up with a method of aiming consistently as the game seems to have a mind of its own, no matter how hard or softl you slide the stylus to throw the dart.Plus points:- Great variety of games, and many of them quite addictive- Easy to follow instructions- You only need one game card to play against a real opponent (providing they have their own DS console to hand)- The player has many options to tailor the game settings to their own preferences. For example different difficulty levels, background colours, and whether or not to opt for "hints" during game-playMinus points:- Some of the games seem like space fillers, and arent as detailed or good as others- Playing against the CPU can sometimes be frustrating, too fast-paced, or too difficult, particularly in the games where you are playing against three CPU players at once.

Thanks Nintendo for providing great games which appeal to an older and more mature audience! If you are more of an oldie gamer you may well appreciate playing popular card games such as rummy and solitaire, popular board games such as chess, backgammon and also more sporting games such as bowling and darts. It isn't just the fact that here we have 42 games on one single cartridge which is on the ultra-portable DS system but also the fact that there are several other clever modes including:Mission Mode: Complete some very challenging pre-set missions (such as score 3 bullseyes in darts in just 10 tries, complete the memory game in less than 3 mins) to unlock cute little icons you can use to display against your name.Ok, I'm not that bothered about the icons, but the difficulty of the missions is something that will keep you going for a long time.Stamp Mode: This is really fantastic. You start playing through all the games on Easy mode in a pre-set order. Winning, coming second or third determines how many 'stamps' you get against that game. Get three stamps and you move to the next game and so on. It will take you a good long time to work through this - but very worth it as you unlock all the games which are not immediately available to you at the start in Freeplay mode. Once you have done the easy setting, you go through medium and hard settings. This is the mode I have enjoyed the most due to the variety and the challenge of it all.Freeplay mode: Play any game which you have unlocked in Stamp mode. Basically pick your favourite games and play. Hubby loves bowling, solitaire and darts while I love rummy, chess and most of the card games.Multiplayer: play against your family, friends or even gamers worldwide with the DS WiFi capabilities. It is a very fun game providing card and board games are your cup of tea. So it probably won't appeal to most kids who enjoy their fast-paced action games but many adults and even non-gamers (like my hubby) can pick this up and be entertained with it.I should also mention that the touch screen of the DS is perfect for games like these where you simply click on items on the screen or drag items. Makes the control system very intuitive. Full rules are included with every game.I think it is absolutely excellent value for money!

Wow, this is probably the DS game with the most bang for you buck.Card Games, some Board Game, some Action Games. Good selection. Even includes Shogi, which isn't to common among game packs like these. Doesn't include Go, sadly. Also, the version of Battleship that they have (called "Grid Attack") gives players ships that are only a single square big, which almost totally ruins the game. Other than that, all the games are pretty solid gameplay wise. The program is controlled entirely with the touch screen, menus and games. Some of the games require you to beat "Stamp Mode", which is a mode where you have to play specific games in order to progress to the end. It's a little gimmicky maybe, but I think that it helps keep things interesting by making you play games you might not otherwise bother with at least a few times. You get 1 stamp if you lose the game, and 3 if you win the game, and you need 3 to go to the next game. Extra stamps carry from game to game but no from one "level" to the next (there's 5 levels of stamp mode). Beating each level of Stamp Mode unlocks one of the locked games, beating them all on Easy unlocks Normal and Hard. If you beat Normal you get a stamp you can use in the chat, and if you beat Hard you get a special color for the pen tool.Did I mention the chat? Apparently it'd integrated with the PictoChat system, so you can send messages to people that are in PictoChat while you're in Clubhouse Games. Which would be cool if PictoChat was a thing that people still used. You can't even get PictoChat on the 3DS, which is what people have been moving towards lately. Oh well.It has online multiplayer, and with local wifi you can use Download Play to play games with your friends that have a DS but don't have their own copy of the game.Basically, this game is the best. It's my second favorite DS game (after Pokemon: Soul Silver, of course). I'm not gonna say much more about this because it's very clear what you're getting so there's no need for me to go on.

I consider myself pretty restrictive of my son's screen time. Generally they get 90 minutes a week (including cartoons on saturday morning). Was impressed with a friend's son's ds, brain age is amazing, and I encourage my children to play it whenever they're in the car (doesn't count as screen time). After researching the ds and the available games I purchased a ds for my two sons (age 6 and 8). My intention was to permit them to play only 2 games:- brain age 2- club house gamesI got brain age 2 bundled when i bought the ds, but club house games was unavailable. The boys like brain age 2, but the intensity of timed mental exercises sometimes gets old, especially on long trips.I have spent the last 9 months searching in vain for club house games, enjoyed a disputed purchase on ebay and then watched the used price climb past $60 for this "rare" game. I was surprised to find it available new on amazon at a reasonable price.Club house games is a large collection of traditional games. The games are all simple and well made. I've watched the 6yo play chess, and I think the game play is good enough for a child. The games are much higher quality than the various cheapo electronic pocket games you find at toys 'r us, mostly enabled by the ds's excellent screens and pen interface. Focus of Club House Games is on game play and the collection is a great complement to the ds. Some of the games are pretty easy, but the boys like to win, so thats ok. The boys love it and I don't mind them playing it in the car.Club house games is pretty much equivalent to a big collection of board games, without the mess and without the fights when one boy loses to the other. I'd like to see them each have a ds and play head to head, but I think one ds is enough for now.

I like to read consumers reviews, it gives you a true idea of what the product is about, instead of manufacturer's hype. I like writing them because.....i just do!! I have just received my game and have to say this is the most fun i have had fully clothed in a while :o)There seems to be everything for everyone on this one little disk, it's terrific. There are 3 ways to play the game - free play, stamp & mission. Free play means you can access all the games in the order and in the frequency you would like to play them in. Stamp play is exactly what it says, you get a stamp....an award (which also unlocks otherwise inaccessible games) for working your way through the myriad of card games, board games, word games, action, variety (which includes a cool game called soda shake - you shake the bottle but you don't want it to off when in your clutches that sort of thing) and sports games....like bowling which is my absolute fave at the mo! But, you have to do t he games in the set order of the disk. Mission mode is rather like the stamp mode, but you get missions (a set of games) which again have to be done in a certain order while unlocking other goodies. You have the talk facilities while playing and the multiplayer optiion for people near you to join in. I love this game and as i have only just received it, i have nothing i can fault as yet. But i have been playing it off and on for hours now and it's kept me entertained. You can get the game cheaper than amazon is selling it, but even at amazon's price it's great fun for the money. If you want a game that suits all......this is it!!

I've had this game for at least two years. Some you play and put away and some you come back to time and time again. This is one of them. The variety of games for multiplay is great and you only need one gamecard. I believe you can have up to 8 other players. My boyfriend and I used to play this every day, we've split up and I still play on my own.I've heard some mention problems with backgammon, but I find if you look closely at where you are dropping the token you will see that it is just outside of the lines of the space. If a space is full, it's best to put the token at the bottom rather than try to add it to the top and this way it will place the token on top of another one.If you are still having problems go into your DS's settings and calibrate it.There are less than ten games I don't play. My favourites are Word Balloon, both Pokers, Backgammon, Hearts and Seven Bridge. Spit is great for raising the heart rate and memory is good to keep the brain cells ticking over, however, if you play memory against the DS they turn the cards over really quickly so you have to pay attention! You unlock designs and icons as you win games. I've found unlocking some of the icons impossible like 3 consecutive strikes in the bowling challenge, although I've done it in gameplay I can't seem to rise to the challenge! Most have been unlocked but it's not the reason I play so it doesn't matter - I have enough characters to choose from. All in all this is great value as you'll be playing for as long as you have the card and it's suitable for both adults and children!

I havnt got this game but i lent it off my mate but i didnt want to give it him back!! I was addictid, it is great fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It is good going back to some of the older games aswell, because you havnt played them for ages! ! ! !Now ill tell you abit about the game!!! Well there is 42 different games as you can see by the name of the game! They are split into different catorgories including, card games, intermediate card games, bord games and a few more but i cant think of them....:)! In single player there are three different ways you can play the games, free play which is just playing the games you want and how you want, stamp mode, which is games in order that you have to complete and when you complete some you unlock more games and the other way is missions, which is playing the games but in the way the game wants you to and they tell you what you have to do to complete that mission e.g there is a bowling game on free play where you just play bowling normally but there is also a bowling mission on the missions where youve got to get 3 strikes in a row to complete it!! There are lots more more different missions aswell, i think there is a leats one for each game, but im not sure! Also on mission you unlock more icons, you use icons for you picture when youre playing the games!....;)! There is also a multiplayer mode where you can link up with your mates even if they havnt got the game, on multiplayer you can play any of the games that are 2 or more players!!I recommend this game for all gaes it is really fun!!!!!!!.....:):):):):)

This is the game cartridge that has spent the most time in my DS, so why haven't I given it 5 stars? There really is a great variety of games, and with the mission and stamp play, it adds even more variety. There are some surprisingly addictive games such as Escape, and Field Tactics. Koi Koi is one that took me a while to learn, but is worth the effort. Dominoes is well done, although the layout of some games causes the tiles to become almost too small to see. Chinese Checkers is a nice surprise, especially with some custom shaped boards. The Bowling and darts is fun, but I find it almost impossible to muster enough control to make much of a great stab at a good score. There are some fairly well implemented card games including Rummy, Hearts, and the highly addictive President ....but some of the (to my mind) main games fall well short of even a pass mark. The strength of the Chess and Checkers is woefully weak...the artificial intelligence falling foul to all but the weakest players. The Backgammon has no doubling cube. Bridge is very poorly executed, both in strength, and confusing in design, the dummy always appearing at the top of the screen, causing much confusion. In fact the design is unnecessarily clumsy on many games, which could have been less confusing if they had been thought through a little more at the design stage.Having said all that I have spent a huge amount of time playing these games, so at the price it would be churlish to criticise too heavily. It's good bit of fun, just don't expect the earth.

I originally bought this title when enduring an incredibly boring shift at work to pass some time because I saw that there was Darts and Billiards on the game list. Little did I know that I would be purchasing a game that has now become a game so dear to my heart, that if I have a bit of time to hand, I will whack it in and play games that I would never have thought of playing in a million years.I have never been a big card game player, but have passed a large amount of my time playing a game that before buying this game, I had never heard of (President). How many of you have been sat there on the couch with nothing to do and suddenly thought to yourself "I know, I think I will have a game of dominoes!"?Not many would be my guess. Play this game for an hour or so and i guarantee next time you will!Even games that at first look like they're going to take an age to learn become fun. When I first saw Mahjong Solitaire I wondered what the bleeding heck I was letting myself in for. Now I find this one of the greatest and most addictive things that I have ever come across. In all, I have not found one game in "42 All Time Classics" that has bored me or made me want to switch off. I would definitely recommend this game to anybody who enjoys a challenge, or constantly finds themselves with time on their hands they have nothing to do with!!Brilliant game.

This is a great game with something for everyone. There are familiar card games such as old maid and rummy and "action" games like bowling and darts. There are games suitable for all ages because they range from the simple (memory) to the more advanced (chess). When you start up the game, there are 3 single player modes - free play, stamp mode or mission.- Free play allows you to choose a game and set the ability level and number of players.- Stamp mode is a great way to try out all of the games because you have to work your way through all of them in order (and gets around your natural tendency to only play the familiar games)- Mission mode gives you the chance to hone your skills by reachingtargets such as stacking 20 blocks on their short sides in balance.By playing stamp mode and mission mode, you can unlock new games and user pictures and the more you win games in free mode, the more designs you unlock.Multiplayer mode is also fun, my Mum has the game too and we enjoy playing against each other at everything from backgammon to word balloon. It also keeps a record of how many games each of you win and lets you chat while playing. In conclusion, this game's a great way for you to play your favourite card and board games without the equipment, while you're on the move or alone if there's no one around. You might even find some new favourites!

What can you say for a cartridge offering 42 games for about £18. You could say excellent value for money, and even if one or two of the games were disappointing then overall you would probably still feel 'quids in'.Also, just how excellent is it to have such a small games machine able to play all these games and fit into your smallest of pockets? Pretty nifty I would say!I have found a couple of the games a bit poor on game play, namely chess and draughts(checkers). Both of them look pretty enough but lack any understanding of the game. Frequently at chess, it will just give up it's queen for no benefit, and that on the highest level 3. It has no book opening knowledge and sometimes I think it's actually playing suicide chess. However, for someone starting out in the game, they would have fun beating the machine! Be warned though, this would not prepare you for a serious dedicated chess cartridge, if one is ever released. On the whole I like the games on offer, the card games are fun and I think well implemented as is backgammon and ten pin bowling. There are so many on offer that I've not had a chance to try them all yet.The cartridge is suitable for all ages, the games on offer ranging from simple kids games, building up to a whole variety suitable for multiple players and skill levels. Great screen tapping fun.

When I got this game I was straight away addicted to it. It is just fantastic. Even my mum and dad like it. You can play loads of games on it. Stamp mode is really good. You play every single game on there and unlock new games. Free play is always going to be good as you just choose whatever game you want to play and what level you want to play it at. I'm not too familiar with Mission mode so I can't really say anything about that. It is just so good. There are games on here that you'd never think of playing such as Mahjong Solitaire, Soda Shake, Balance, Takeover and Field Tactics. My favourites are Bowling, Blackjack, Chess, Texas Hold 'Em Poker, Five Card Draw Poker, Dots and Boxes,Hearts and President. My mum really likes Mahjong Solitaire, Escape and Hearts. My dad likes Escape, Texas Hold 'Em and Five Card Draw Poker. You can also play things like Old Maid, Pig, Darts, Nap, Backgammon, Solitaire, Five In A Row, Ludo, Billiards and Takeover. If you have a DS you just have to get this. I'm being serious now, if you get it, you'll be on it non-stop. Get this game if you want to uncover the full potential of a Nintendo DS.This game is a must buy. Amazon are selling it for a very good price considering how good it is.GET IT. IF YOU DON'T, YOU'LL REGRET IT!
