I bought this Game after playing it on a friends DS that I bought them for Christmas. I fell in love with it from day 1 so decided to buy it. I'm really happy with it. I completed 60 of the recipes but discovered they are 76 in the game so I kept resetting the data to start again. I've now completed the game with flying colours. I'm getting the second game Cooking Mama 2 next week and I cant wait. I still playing on this game and have now completed it 3 times. I cant keep my fingers off it!Introduction - Cooking Mama is a very good cooking game for the Nintendo DS. You basically have to complete the recipes to win medals. They is 76 altogether. 10/10 for this sectionGameplay -The gameplay is brill. You have a series of cooking methods to complete such as chopping up foods, cutting foods, making stews and so on. 10/10 for this section.Graphics/Sound - The graphics/sound is good. You make very good use of the built in microphone with this game to blow on rising water when making stews. 9/10 for this sectionPlay Time/Replayability - Replayability is great. I've played this game over and over again but started to get fed up of it as I could not complete it but now I have. 5/10 for this section.Final Recommendation - If you don't have this game then go out and buy it. Its great. My final score is 10/10

This is quite an enjoyable game, but has a couple of unfortunate problems with "game play".Firstly, it becomes repetative, so much so that it is a "game" you CAN put down.Secondly, some of the cooking requirements - like peeling - have caused some problems, even the manual doesn't help with them, nor does the practice section of the game. It could have done with now move the peeler slowly down the vegetable instruction on the screen. Only trial and very annoying error solved some of these moves. It's a good game if you have only a few minutes to spare, but if you are looking for something to pass the time in hospital, or travelling over long distances, then I would suggest that you take more games with you as this won't help you pass the time. Take it from me - I've tried on one of my many visits to hospital and the most I've lasted is about 30 minutes before I became very bored with it.

Who could have thought there would be a game based on cooking, but here it is , Cooking Mama.Cooking Mama is well, a cooking game, your job is to follow mama's instructions and make various dishes of food to varying degrees of fail in my case and varying degrees of success for most people, but I still love this game for one simple thing, its different, yes you heard me correctly, different, there is nothing like it, except Cooking Mama on the Wii. This is a game that I will defend to the hills and I did buy it with my own money, £20 brand new from my local Gamestation, and I can say it was worth every penny. You will get a sense of higher self when you can make a sandwich and get 100 points :).

I wanted to buy a DS game for my friend for christmas, but the one i was looking for was sold out everywhere. I spotted this game and thought it looked like fun - I ended up ordering a copy for me too.Within the first few minutes, i was disappointed with the game - it wasn't what i expected.I imagined there to be a storyline to it and thought that it would be rubbish without one - however, after playing for 5-10 minutes, I was hooked, it really is a fun, addictive game that is worth buying - especially at the price its selling for.I would recommend this game to anyone really - its easy enough for younger children, but can also be challenging for older players.

I bought this game of ebay simply because i wanted something different to play on my ds.I read a few reviews and thought id give it a try.Cooking mama is mainly a cooking game hence the name.basicly you have to prepare meals in a set amount of time to please mama and once completed you unlock new recipies.they varie in difficulty so theres some thing for everyone.you have to chop veg and arange the plates and grate cheese using the stylus.i have played it a good few times and think its great for its money.my 26 year old fiance loves it and i find myself having to grab it when hes asleep just to have a go on it.well worth it if you want something like no other!

I purchased the game after reading other reviews. Yes they were right, although a basic concept of cooking ( no super hereos or exploding mines and bloodshed ..)this is a great game for all ages and genders. This is the first time that my husband has managed to cook anything on time without burning it! My only downside of the game is the weird choice of recipes that I have never come across in the western world although all required concentration and accuracy. At least I didn't have to attempt to eat some of them!..........Find out for yourselves, and above all ENJOY

This is a very good game for any age, although after a while it gets a bit repetitive. Also, you cant make any desserts, which is a downside because I LIKE SUGAR! But apart from that it is a very fun, addictive game, though i recommend that you practice first in the skills section. If your friends get jealous then you can let them download the recipe for a burger, which is good fun as you can use as many French fries as you want... YUM! By the way, does anyone know how to finish the game? I have got all the food a gold medal and nothing has happened!

This game is great. When i got it i didnt know if it would be a bit childish but it really isnt. Some of the things you have to do are really challenging and you find yourself playing again and again determined to beat a previous score. There are loads of different dishes to make and you get a rating of bronze silver or gold on each one. It has lots of playing value trying to get the best you can. I would definitely recommend this game if you like to just pick a game up and play it without having to get really involved.

Got this game on the strength of the advertisments. Have to say for the first 2-3 weeks, I couldn't put it down as I attempted to unlock all the new recipes..However once all the recipes had been unlocked (about 50-60), all that was left to do was to try and improve your ratings for each one.Plus the multiplayer option is just one dish (burger), so no life in that either..!Despite this, it is still worth getting for a month or so, then trading in for a new one..

Who knew cooking could be so much fun? When you first start to play the game you are hooked. You demand to score a gold medal for you dish but mama keeps giving you 80/100. When you finallt get the top score you unlock new dishes. All different techniques are used which keeps you playing for hours upon end. The only disappointment for me would be that I completed it quite quickly but I decided to start fresh and go all the way to the beginning.

She is 8 and has learned a lot about cooking and nutrition from this game, as well as what goes into different recipes and from that has developed her own understanding of what is healthy or not. She is not obsessive about this game, but has been playing it on and off for 18 months and still really enjoys it becuase she can pick it up and put it down without losing the thread (an advantage of not having a storyline to follow!)

At first I struggled to enjoy this, but after a short while (killing time on a flight) I got hooked. Once you master the cooking skills like chopping, slicing, kneading etc you will enjoy trying the recipes and unlocking new ones on completion. My 5 year old daughter (whom I purchased it for originally) enjoys this too after a short lesson from me!Even my mum was chopping and mixing and she hates the grandkids DS consoles!

Reviewed by my daughter age 8Cooking mama is an great game I got this game for my birthday and I have been playing it for hours there is so many recipes you can make it is loads of great fun for all ages but I have to admit it dose get boring after you have been playing it for ages and it can be a bit annoying when it freezes so beware of that. So I think this is an excellent game soI would recommend it to everyone.

When i got cooking mama, i was really pleased. I love it! I agree that i could scratch your touch screen but only if you are pressing extremly hard. I really enjoy playing on Cooking Mama and it doesn't make me think to much! I got it about 2 months ago and still enjoy playing on it to. Overall, i really love this game and would definatly recamend buying it.

I bought this game with my Christmas money, and was not disappointed! There are so many different ways to use the touch screen and loads of different dishes to prepare- I found myself addicted within the first few minutes of playing, determined to get a Gold rating for every meal I cooked! One of my favourite games... I heartilly recommend it!
