I think this is an excellent game. It does primarily test your eyesight, but your brain needs to be working pretty well also. There are basically two types of game, Core Training, which is the harder stuff, I find, and Sports Training, which is more for fun. I should mention that I have a basic eyesight problem in that one of my eyes is what's known as a lazy eye. It affects my peripheral vision to some extent. It's fine in day-to-day activity, but not so good when you're concentrating on a small screen because really only one eye has to try to do the work of two.As mentioned above, you start off doing all the games at Normal level, but if you get a high score you are given the option of doing them at the Hard level. In both cases the game keeps track of your scores (and those of anyone else who opens a separate data file) from day to day, so you know if you are geting better (or worse). You start off by completing an Eye Age Check and you are supposed to renew this at regular intervals as another means of showing your progress. The youngest age is 20. Mine was 18 years less than my actual age until tonight, when I did another check and have slipped back by 6 years. Grrr. The exercises are supposed to be based on your Eye Age Check, but I reckon they are easier when you first start out because I'm finding it quite hard to match my best scores. Maybe they will become easier after tonight's check! You can complete a day's standard exercises in a few minutes, but there are ways of getting back into the system if, like me, you want more practice. In fact, I have scored the maximum in Normal level in several exercises, so I opt for the Hard level. For some reason I'm especially good at Table Tennis and American Football, but not so good at Volleyball in the Sports Training group. Some of the exercises in the Core Training group are the ones I find most difficult because of my lazy eye, but I'm getting better at them.I have Brain Training and More Brain Training and I would put this game at the same level. It's maybe not for someone who primarily wants to play games, but if you want to exercise your mind and your eyes at the same time, it does the job very well.

When it comes to games about memory, none of them have shined brighter on any other system than the Nintendo DS. After the mammoth success of puzzle and mind games like Big Brain Academy, and Brain Age and its sequel, there have been many games that have been knockoffs that just haven't shined as vividly. Nevertheless, that hasn't stopped the people who've developed Brain Age, Touch Generations, from expanding the gameplay that Brain Age that appears to be strong to the eyes. Well, they've done it again, and it shows how fast can your sight be in your mind to catch it.Flash Focus: Vision Training In Minutes A Day, brings the success of Brain Age, in a more visual sense. The game includes many training exercises that focus in on accuracy and timing, rather than how much your brain weighs and age. There are many mini-game exercises here that work to the test, including sports games like table tennis, soccer, baseball and football. But, it isn't just about sports at all alone here, the game also shows how fast you can memorize patterns, and sight. The graphics look good but the gameplay is just as addictive as we've seen before. Sadly, the game doesn't do enough to seperate itself from others, with a lack of multiplayer gameplay, but the game does test your sight well. All in all, Flash Focus: Vision Training In Minutes A Day isn't a bad purchase for the Nintendo DS. The gameplay is a test of how well wew see things and observe more than meets the eye. If you've played Brain Age, you'll definitely want to add Flash Focus in as a part of your video game library.Graphics: BSound: C+Control: B 1/2+Fun & Enjoyment: B-Overall: B 1/2-

I enjoyed Doctor Kawishma brain training and sight training was made by the same makers so i got it. I'd say the science is abit more firm than brain training and i believe it does help your eyes. The games are alot of fun (i like the sports games the best) and challenging! One of the good features of this game is that it gives you a recomneded (bad speller) training programme which helps you improve your weak points. I have to agree with the other reviews, the narator isn't that good as he repeats himself time and time again and mostly states the obvious. For thoughs of you that aren't familiar with brain training or that type of game made by tough generations you do your workout daily and when you've finished your first minigame you but a stamp on the date.As you collect more stamps more games become available or you can play the games you've already unlocked in a different style or you can unlock a special feature like i can now do the eye relaxation exercise at any time. Speaking of the eye relaxation exercises they do become a bit annoying as when you've completed todays recomened training you have to do it (i think you can quit) but whats more annoying is that when your doing custom training (you can play on any game which you've unclocked) if you've done alot of it it stops you right in the middle and asks if you want to do eye relaxation, i tap skip and it says lets call it a day and takes me right back to the main menu where i've got to go into my profile and listen to the welcome speech. But all the same its really good fun and thoughs who played Brain Training and enjoyed it will certainly like this

with poor eyesight myself im not sure if it actually helps your sight but its very fun and addictive.you get given quick tests that take no more than 3-4 mins to play then you get graded on weather you have good eyesight. but the best bit is the sports training you get footy/boxing/vollyball/table tennis/basketball/ baseball all are simple to play and can get challenging because the cpu will recognize if your struggling and go down a lvl and will go up a lvl when your on fire. so thats brilliant.the other games are basic tests like guess how many letters there are/numbers there are etc. my fav is the monty switch type game where you have to keep your eye on 1 of 3 boxes containing a circle asthe boxes swap round and round with only 1 containing the circle.anyway if your looking for an addictive fun game for the DS that will only take about 10 mins to play (you can retry the games of course)than look no further (no pun intended . unfortunately if you play for more than 15 mins playig the cpu will end the game due to thinking your eyes are tired . and the footy game only lasts for 1 min. apart from that its great. there's a relation video at the end too to top it off.

This game has a quick start and a daily program. The quick start does a rudimentary assessment of your visual age. There are 4 profiles that you can create for each member of a small family or a group of friends. Based upon your speed and how well you perform, it compares your chronological age with your visual age.Two types of training are available, sports and basic training. Tests are used to determine a broader scope of your visual age. Hand-Eye Coordination, Peripheral Vision, Dynamic Visual Acuity, Momentary Vision and Eye Movement are tested using various specific tasks. At the conclusion of daily training, you have eye relaxation exercises with voice prompts. You can do the 5 programmed training lessons based upon your visual age or you can do a custom program. With each skill set, there is a "normal" and "advanced" level. Only data from the first task is saved. There are charts that plot your progress/improvement or decline in skills.Overall, this is a simplistic program that will help your visual abilities on a daily basis. It is a great cognitive tool for adults and kids to play.I highly recommend this program.

I received a DS lite for Christmas and Sight Training was the second game I got for it. (The first being more Brain training).I defy anyone not to enjoy using this great little collection of programs, particularly the sports games. I am unsure as to whether using Sight Training actually improves your eyesight but there is much fun to be had trying to lower your eye age in a similar way to trying to achieve a lower brain age in Brain Training. The different exercises involve tracking moving objects using your eyes and using the stylus to tap objects on the screen. Others test your peripheral vision by flashing symbols in different parts of both screens and then asking you to recall what they were or indicate where they appeared.Your progress in daily tests is recorded and then plotted on graphs which can be compared with your friend's profiles. The more you play the more games are unlocked.Overall, this title represents excellent value for money and is one to be enjoyed by people of every age.

this game is a very good example of the good use you can give to a touch screen console, I think is not a game like so but still keeps you busy and offers a good experience in education. The game starts asking for your information, like many of the titles like this one, so it can keep track of your progress, at first you have to take an exam to figure out your visual age, or the age your vision behaves, after that everything is like the same, there are several games you can use to practice, and they suggest you take a test each day to keep in shape, after you play and play and play several minigames are unlocked and you can use them to practice, you can play the minigame as much as you like, but only the data of the first try is saved. And that would be pretty much it, the game explains itself very well.

I didn't really know what to expect as I'd never known anyone who owned this game before me and I'm not disappointed with it.The game itself is kind of like a gym session for your eyes. It helps you to get you thinking about working out your eyes without causing any strain on them. It tests your eyes on 5 different aspects of eyesight (including Hand-Eye-Coordination and Peripheral Vision) through a series of tests and mini-games that get progressively more challenging as you succeed. Through testing it give you a calculated "Eye Age" and compares it to your actual age. This game won't help rid you of any medical issues or failing eyesight, but through improving my results in all the challenges,I feel a bit like my eyes are making the most of the images they receive thanks to regular work-outs.

I've only had this game a couple of days but am enjoying it so far. The tests are quite challenging but will hopefully get easier with practice. The format is simmilar to that of Brain Training in that doing well in one test rewards you with the option of undertaking that same test at a "hard" level and also unlocks additional exercises. Graphs and best scores are recorded so that you can plot your progress. The sports exercises are fun, especially the table tennis (the only additional game I've been rewarded with to date). The games are short but you can repeat them as many times as you like (tho' only your first result of the day will be recorded).Overall,if you like the Brain Training series then I'd guess there's a good chance you'll like this.

Yes I agree the ultimate purpose of Brain Training was to train the brain but some of the tasks were tedious and repetitive. With Sight Training however the fun element is re-introduced. Not only is the game overall a lot more captivating - revamp of menu styles/narration etc. but the mini games are ones you may have been brought with maybe at school, so that sense of nostalgia is there, the difficulty levels are great to lessen the repetition and there's dozens of mini games that eventually become available after completing tasks. For me the game itself was the improvement from the Brain Training series, definately worth looking into,I have more intentions at this stage of going back to it than I did with the Brain Training series.

This game is so much fun! I bought this for my wife and she hasn't stopped using it. The game is so addictive! There are various exercises which are all aimed at working out your "eyesight age" - dependant on how well you score in the game itself. The games are mixed and varied. You have to do well to unlock other features within the game - hence why this game is so addictive. I would disagree with other reviewers who say the games are repetitive. There is an excercise where you can rest your eyes - and this bit is boring! Not only is it suitable for children , but everyone can take part, and you do feel as if you are training your eyes - albeit I am not convinced it actually does.Loads of fun -highly recommended!

I just got my first hand held video game unit the Nintendo DS lite. I got this as my first of two games. I took the eye test and was very shocked at my eye age. I have work to do.The game is fun and challenging for me. Some exercises are very difficult to do. I have read so much on how important it is to exercise your brain and work with eye hand coordination as we age. I thought this was a luxury item that on a fixed income I should not get. WRONG.Now I condiser it physical therapy and a medical need. They test you then give you a work out. You see your scores and are praised or told you need to work harder.I highly recommend the game for the medical value and it is just plain FUN.

My daughter is using this to help with a "lazy eye" while wearing her glasses. Her weaker eye trains correctly when she wears her glasses, so playing this while she is wearing her vision correction is turning out to show improvement in her ability to train the same eye correctly when not wearing her glasses!Granted this isn't a scientific study or clinical trial, but if your child has a form of amblyopia that is corrected with glasses, have them wear their glasses while playing this game for a month or two (once a day) and see if you notice a difference! There are flashing symbols so if your child is sensitive/has epilepsy than avoid this game.

I bought this game as I thought my eyes could do with some serious training. And havent been disappointed. I love the sport options which get unlocked the further you progress though the core games. I do feel though that the harder levels are unlocked quiter early on. The core games can be slightly annoying - especially if your tired, and also being asked to check your eye age everytime you go into game. It tells you to do it only 3 times a week. The guy on the top screen really does my head in, the graphics are really disappointing especially when you see the sports games. Overall a good game and good value for money.

I don't know, if this game will really improve your vision, but it is fun. Flash Focus contains 10 core training mini games and 7 sports mini games. They are not all immediately available, but like in Brain Age, you have to "earn" them by returning to the training on a daily basis. However, it does not take that long. I had the game for a month and have access to all of them now. You can check you eye age on a daily basis or you can skip it and go on to the training. My only complaint with the game is that I have problems with the basketball section. I am touching the right players, but the results come up wrong.
