Ok, yes the story is pretty rushed, yes the combat is simple and yes the graphics are below average. But if you have found any enjoyment from any the spider man games of the of the past decade, you WILL have fun with this game. Everything that made the first amazing spider man game fun is here, and considering that the amazing spider man 1 was one of the better received movie based games AND spider man games of recent years, that isnt a bad thing. Comic book pages still litter the sky line ready to be snagged, civilians still call out to spidey, and random crimes still occur. Car chases, police shootouts, robberies, muggings, bombs, all must be dealt with.This is the one area of the game i dont like and its the hero menace system. It initially shows some promise, but quickly descends into a huge annoyance. See if spider man dosent remain a hero (by failing to do side missions) the city's authorities will constantly harass you. Oscorp drones will chase you, electrified nets will pop up and knock you from the sky and citiziens will hurl abuse at you. So you're forced to grind through these side missions or be harassed, which makes the initially fun side missions become quickly repetitive. Other than that though everything else is pretty good, the web swinging has been redone, webs now attach to buildings and the left trigger left hand right trigger right hand was a good idea. Spider man can also infiltrate oscorp hideouts to get new tech and costumes which involve taking down guys using stealth which is so much fun. The story, while rushed is about as much of a comic book story as you can get. There's a lot of fan service and easter eggs and the villain line up is strong. Shocker, Black cat, Kingpin, Kraven, Electro, Green Goblin, and Carnage all make an appearence and there's countless easter eggs hidden in the levels from Mysterios fishbowl, Rhinos mech suit and Doc Ocks arms. Stan lee even makes an appearance as the owner of a comic book store where all your unlockables are stored. It's a good game, ues its simple and dosent look the best, but theres enough fan service and swinging around the city to make this a fun time.

If you liked the first Amazing Spider man game then you will like this. It feels much the same except the swinging mechanics are now done with the left and right triggers which works great in my opinion. It is fun just swinging around the city, the game runs smooth and looks good although lacking anything amazing or as somebody else said "wow factor" there is however a nicely made environment with nice lighting and ok textures and ok character models. I haven't had any frame drops or screen tearing and no crashes or other bugs.The combat is much the same as the last game and very similar to the Batman games, most encounters have you bashing square and then countering and dodging with triangle when you notice the "spider-sense" flash around Spideys head.There's nothing great but it works.Spider Man now has the ability to use spider sense by pressing up on the D-pad, this shows enemy locations and their field of view, I think this is great and allows you to be a more stealthy Spidey if that is what you want to do.There are quite a few suits to unlock which are done by completing stealth missions in closed locations you have to take out guards without being seen and then activating a terminal of sorts which holds the suit. The first time I tried one I thought it was annoying how you had to do it all again pretty much if you are caught, but once you upgrade your spider sense to allow you to see enemies properly then they're actually quite fun.The most annoying part of the game for me is the new menace/hero system where by saving citizens and performing heroic tasks gives you hero points which give a boost to your costumes abilities (each costume has different boosts). This works good in concept however the game quickly degrades your hero meter and then goes into menace which gives you negative boosts to your costumes abilities.. so basically the game is forcing you to continually do boring repetitive side missions which are very tedious and unrewarding. That is my biggest gripe with the game really.I'm having a lot of fun with it, could of been a lot better but thankfully it wasn't worse.

Unlike the first game where it was set after the movie with it's own story line (The whole Alistair Smythe story), this just follows the movie but includes its own twist.Personally I think it's a pretty good game, with majorly upgraded web-swinging making it more realistic so that you need to actually connect to buildings rather than in the first game where you just seemed to swing from the clouds. I think one major step back is the combat, I don't know why but it didn't seem as frequently flowing as the first game.Another problem which can get frustrating at times is the whole 'Here or Menace' System, where as the side missions (petty crimes etc.) are pretty fun,it just gets pretty tiresome (this was after the first hour) of going to the same areas to do the same thing over and over again, meaning that you get the same dialogue with the same News Broadcast afterwards. If you fail to complete any of the petty crimes etc. You will be constantly chased by Oscorp Guards which is very annoying. The main problem I have with the system is that while you are going to the crime it expires as soon as you get there meaning you traveled all that way for no reason and that you also become more of a menace.Personally I think that the first game was better, I did enjoy this one but I was thinking that it would've continued where the last game left off even if it did follow the movie.

THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE PS4 VERSION:This is a generally fun game, and a brilliantly crafted spiderman game, yea sure its not exactly Next Gen graphics but those saying it looks like a PS2 game are way off and obviously have completley forgotten what PS2 graphics look like.Gameplay:Simple, yet fun. They tried for a Arkham Feel with the gameplay but it slightly misses the mark.Graphics:If you played Amazing Spiderman on ps3 or the 360 then this is only a dlight upgrade from that, it still looks nice but not next-gen nice, it has its moments though like when its sunset and the sun gleems through the buildings.Audio:Voice acting is pretty solid,the guy that does spideys voice is just awesome.Length:If you constantly just go for the main missions its around 5 hours, but if your a spidey fan like me and like to explore the city and do a ton of comic collecting and side missions which are random and always pop up then this will last you awhile.overall a good game that has gotten some bad press for some unforseen reason. just a case of people jumping on the bandwagon i think.

Such a marked improvement on the last Spiderman game. No more web swinging from the sky. You either stick your web to something or you fall. This changes the game quite a bit as you cant just swing across in a straight line to chase something anymore.If the game has a fault, it's that it takes a while to come up to speed. Once you open up some web powers though,it gets really good.Gone are the sewers and linear levels in place are open freeroaming enviroments you can solve in your own way. Whether that is stealth,or full on combat or a mix of the two.Side missions have been redone and a lot less repetative than they were. Boss fights are varied, and there are plenty of things to collect.The graphics won't win any next gen awards,but are really crisp and clear on a 1080p TV. The framerate is very stable and the game runs smoothly. Load times are a bit long, but it's loading a lot of stuff.Stan Lee gets a much bigger part than his usual cameo and there are a plenty of Spidersuits for the comic book readers.Well worth a go and probably movie based game of the year.

The amazing spiderman 2 is a game based of the popular comic book hero from marvel comics. this game is the second game from the new amazing spiderman movie reboot .The game is a big improvement from the previous activsion which was not a bad game but became repetitive after a while of playing. the amazing spiderman2 take all the good parts of the previous game and improves on then,the web slinging has been improved ,to swing around the city use the left and right trigger [left hand right on spidey] and the fighting has been improved.Spiderman is free to go where he wants ,but to continue the game story you must go to some locations,but you are still free to tackle the city crime ,fires ,policechases or muggings.Activision have also added the ability to play as peter parker ,spiderman`s alter ego ,i found that a welcome change.The amazing spiderman 2 has good comic book like graphics and is a game well worth the money ,i would give this game a thumbs up.recommended ..

After i played the first Amazing spider-man (and loved it) i thought 2 years later the graphical look of the second game would be much superior to its predecessor, but unfortunately that is one of this games weaknesses. Other people say this game is nothing like the Movie but i haven't seen the Movie so i didn't compare the games story line to the movie's. Playing through the game i had a lot of fun due to the slick web swinging mechanics, using the LT trigger and RT trigger to swing from building to building. the missions themselves unfortunately are rather short and the enemies in them sometimes walk into walls or don't notice that you are fighting the other henchmen right behind them.The boss fights were pretty cool even though they were easy, even on the superhero difficulty. So i didn't know what i was going to expect from this game but i was pleased to see that the game was good enough for me to play through a second time.

As a casual gamer, and having bought many games over the years which soon became dull, and a chore to play, I can honestly say that I am having a lot of fun playing this game.Ok the Graphics are not what you would expect for the PS4, but they are more than adequate. Gameplay is more important anyway, and this game certainly has got plenty of it. It may become repetative in time, and yes things could always have been done better, but if like me, you are a secret Spiderman fan, and haven't played a Spidey game for a few years, then your in for a real treat.I was very dubious about getting this game, but I'm glad I did. It is a welcome addition to my PS4 collection,and will keep me entertained until Watch Dogs is released later this month.

I have to say this game is incredible.You play as Peter Parker as well as Spiderman.The game continues after Peter's Uncle is killedHe goes out on a journey to find out who is killer is.Has an amazing characters from The Amazing Spiderman 2.Featuring Harry Osborne.The ps4 game has it's downsides. The graphics are goodbut not really good enough for ps4. Besides the game freezessometimes. Although it doesn't bother me as I love Spiderman.If you have bought a playstation 4 and you are into action games.This has to be the game for you. It's fantastic.

Movie tie-ins are baaaad m'kay? Not always... I loved the first one of these and this improves on much. the swinging is better using both triggers to swing and only iof there is something to grab onto unlike the first game where the web seemed to go up in the sky (hey,maybe it was latched onto a pigeon-or vulture) the alternate costumes you can unlock actually have powerups/advantages other than just looking nice ,the big time suit for instance allows stealth to be improved which was handy on the Russian hideouts where you had to find some of them!

A present for my son - he loves the game. It is certainly very playable and there are plenty of main and side missions to keep you busy. Three difficulty levels to keep even the most avid gamers busy for a week or two. I particularly like the 'web rush' and finisher moves which make the character action more interesting to watch.The 16 rating is a bit OTT. I've not observed any bad language or blood/gore. The level of violence is not too harsh either, considering it is a superhero game after all - which means beating up bad guys.

The only reason I have rated it four stars is that the image shows the PAL version symbol on it which is what Indian Xbox consoles need, however when the package arrived the cover had NTSC version symbol on it and so did the CD. And this product cannot be returned so I thought it was a waste of 2500 rupees. BUT, I put it in and tried to see if it would work, and it did! So I guess its fine.Arrived in good packaging and the product was in good condition too.

As a fan of the famous web slinger I enjoy the game even if it could be done better.The hero and menace system for example is shocking and who ever came up with the idea should be allowed no input into the next instalment, it's a terrible idea. The side quest don't have enough variety to half make up for this terrible idea either. Other than that it's a decent Spider-Man game.Recommended for big spider-man fans only.

Satisfying fighting and upgrade system and swinging through the city is great fun. Moving around takes a bit of time to get used to if you've played the earlier spidey games, the side missions can get very monotonous (I even started to feel the weight of responsibility that Spidey probably does) and the main story is a bit short. But it's a pretty good deal for a few quid.

Very fun the swing round as spidey the new swinging system works great and looks good but the cut scenes are poor where the mouths don't match up with what the character are saying and the load times are quite long. Having said that the game is still very entertaining and you can still have a lot of fun messing about between the story
