I have bought both Puzzler World games and thoroughly enjoyed them. I think Puzzler World are easily the best of all the puzzle compilations I have tried. The puzzles start off very easy and then get harder as they go on. I have managed to solve every single one of them but the last two Color-In puzzles have me defeated (Nos. 541 and 546). Quite a few of the Color-In puzzles are difficult but, after a great deal of perseverance I got there in the end. However, with these last two I have tried and tried and NEARLY got there so often but I just cannot do them in the time allowed.I put it down to being 64 and my responses just not being quick enough these days.I gave in and decided to ask for help from some of my younger friends and relatives (one of them being my 14-year-old games whizz great nephew). They have all given up (some of them after trying both puzzles up to 50 times) so I'm stuck with these last two puzzles unsolved. Now I know there are going to be geniuses with super-quick minds out there who have done all these Color-In puzzles with panache, but I do find it a little frustrating that these (more advanced) Color-In puzzles are quite so difficult for the time allowed.I LOVE Puzzler World games but for this. The Backwords and Piecewords are excellent. Link-a-Pix is fabulous, challenging without being stressful, especially in Master Mode. However, if Color-In is included in the 2012 version I really don't think I will buy it. I DO love a challenge but am less keen on being driven to distraction!Further notes added to the above review:Puzzler World got in touch with me over my problem with Puzzles Nos. 541 and 546 and very kindly sent me the solutions. I believe some further thought is to be given to the timings and maybe they will be reviewed for Puzzler World 2012. It would be helpful if other reviewers could add their thoughts as they get to the more advanced Color-In puzzles. I'm sure other input would be welcome.Certainly, my query has been dealt with very courteously and they have even thanked me for bringing this to their attention. So, even you think I'm a dimwit and you can do the puzzles in plenty of time, then please let them know in your review!I would like to thank Tony at Puzzler World for all his helpful and pleasant correspondence, it has been much appreciated.

I take puzzle books into hospital with me on my many visits – they allow me to keep my brain functioning rather than sit there and pay to watch the “free” TV channels on the hospital TV or watch my dvds on laptop – sometimes I just want to think.Of course puzzle books cost a fortune - these games, however, work out much cheaper because by the time you have gone through the hundreds of games you have probably forgotten what the answers to the first ones were. This ds card contains:- 105 - word search- 105 – sudoku- 70 – link-a-pix- 70 – crossword- 70 – fitword- 35 – hide and seek- 35 – backwords- 35 – pieceword- 35 – silhouetteAfter you play one of these games you will be able to play a bonusgame – one of these:- add up- chain letters- colour in- hangman- jigsaw- perfect pairs- picture quiz- split words- sum upOnce you have played a given number of the “challenge mode” games you will be given extra “master mode” games (from the list of main games). There are 3 save slots and you have the option to turn the “sfx” volume and music volume down/off.Once again you can “train” the game to learn your handwriting if it is having a problem with a certain letter or number – the game recognises most of the letters and numbers so training, for me, was at a minimum. One thing I have noticed is that you can train the game but once you have switched it off or played another game and come back to this one any training has not been stored and you will have to train it again. This was a good selection of games for me – some I loved, others I liked and a few I absolutely hated. As a personal bonus I found new favourites which I have avoided when they have been on the printed page. The early games are easier but don’t let that lure you into a false sense of security as the difficulty builds up over the levels and the later ones can be quite problematic.A good set of games but if you are unsure you can always go to the supermarket and flick through a Puzzler book to see if they are the type of puzzles you like.

I am new to game-playing, and on the lookout for games that suit me. I bought this on the basis of the reviews. This has a huge number of games of different types and at different levels. I have the DSXL, which has a bigger screen and stylus, which I find easier to use. The structure of the program keeps it interesting, giving a variety of games, all clear and easy to follow. There are some I was familiar with, like crosswords and sudoku, and several I have not come across before. I find it a useful way of passing the time and keeping my mind active. It is better than printed puzzles, as it lets you know if you are correct, and has a generous hint system.I am the only one using this at the moment, but it can also be used competitively. I think it is very good value for money.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -5 months on - still using this a lot - that's really good value. Just a warning: I am constantly being horrified to find how much time I have spent on this - great if you have time to fill (I use it if I wake at 5 and can't get back to sleep, and I have offered it to my sister for a long plane journey), but if you have a lot of things you need to do - beware! I would recommend this for gaming grannies everywhere, though my 10-yr-old grandson found it just as addictive last weekend - had to fight to get it back. Of course, he had a more competitive approach - trying to beat times, and finding ways of cheating the system!Possible improvements - I wish I could turn off time limits, as I cannot always finish the harder colour puzzles or jigsaws in the time allowed, but would like to do them. Perhaps hints could be used to buy extra time - I have thousands of those! Also, I would like to be able to erase 'notes' on the Sudoku. Minor niggles which don't detract from this great value game.

The Nintendo DS™ may be old technology now but that doesn't stop my partner who loves hers from continuing to use a wide range of software which is still readily available both new and second hand. She's used it for anything from studying to pass the driving test theory successfully to testing herself with her preferred puzzles and games, of which this Puzzler World 2011™ has give plenty of fun. Puzzle books such as crosswords, word search and sudoko can cost a small fortune from newsagents so one of the advantages here isn't just the variety of puzzles on offer but the value for money too, as well as the easy portability of the device and the ability to take a range of cartridges to work for breaktime or on holiday in preference to reading a book.More than 1,200 puzzles are available on this cartridge, featuring crosswords, word searches, code words and sudoku to name but a few. Attempt these and you get bonus puzzles unlocked, including but not limited to Hangman, Picture Pairs, Picture Quizzes, and Jigsaws. There are two modes of play, "Challenge" mode and "Master" mode, meaning that as you grow familiar with a puzzle type and, say the logic used in the crosswords you have the ability to switch to a harder standard. However you'll tend to start off at fairly basic, easy puzzles which get progressively harder the more you do, keeping those grey cells turning - you simply use the DS stylus to enter your answers on the screen. This cartridge has given hours and hours of fun, an ideal distraction when there's (frequently) nothing worth watching on TV. I like the compact size and portability, I like the variety of puzzles on offer and I like the fact that the games engage the brain and become quite addictive after you've become used to the format. There's plenty here to occupy.

I am a 57 year old lady, so not usually into gaming machines, but love my Nintendo bought for me as a gift with the Brain Trainer.I bought this game after exhausting the games on the Brain Trainer and I'd really liked the Sudoku. I read reviews for Puzzler World and bought it to take on holiday. Well, as soon as it arrived I had to try it out, and it is SO addictive that I played it lots before I even went away. Thought initially that the Link A Pix was too hard and couldn't get the hang of it, but once I did I really like the challenge. My only criticism of the game would be that it is frustrating waiting to write each letter for crosswords etc, particularly if you want to do the puzzle quickly.I have done some of the Master puzzles as they were released and imagine they are going to get harder. I've done over 200 of the Challenger puzzles already, but with so many left to do this game is going to last ages, great.I have found though that it is too easy to cheat with the hints, by just doing the bonus puzzles again, so hints are very easy to mount up.All in all a great game and I am glad I bought it, and would certainly recommend it for all ages.Incidentally, my criticism of the Nintendo itself is that you can't play it outdoors (disappointing when on holiday) as the screen is too reflective. I have a Kindle and wish the screen was like that.

When I first opened this game I was worried that it would be too simplistic as the bright colours and simple graphics were a bit off-putting. However once I started to work my way through the selection of puzzles I was quite impressed. There are a great variety of puzzles which have kept my whole family happy. The crosswords and wordsearches gradually increase in difficulty and the children ejoyed the "colour-in-the-dots". There were a couple of new puzzles to me as well and once you got into the challeneg modes there were some really tricky ones which I thoroughly enjoyed.I have been pleasently surprised by this game and it has amazing longevity and is a great one for taking on journeys etc when you want something to pass the time.I would have to recommend it although it can take a while to get the hang of writing the letters so that the DS recognises them!

I kept umm-ing and aah-ing over whether to buy this game and finally took the plunge! I can't believe I waited so long...the game is highly addictive and I just don't want to put it down! There is a whole load of puzzles hidden behind the stars and every time you complete the main puzzle you get the chance of a bonus puzzle. Some of these have a limited time so you have to be quick or recall the puzzle if you've worked out the answer but time has beaten you. When you complete the main puzzle and the bonus puzzle you get the chance to spin the wheel and win points which you can use against hints. And this is only in the challenge mode - I haven't tried out the master mode yet!If you are looking for a fun set of puzzles to wile away those long nights, then I highly recommend Puzzler World 2011. A real bargain - especially on Amazon!

I bought this for my 2 boys aged 8 and 10. It arrived today and my youngest went on it straight away with my help, not that he really needed it. He didn't understand some of the tasks he had to do until I explained it. It does have 'hints' which let you understand the idea of the games. My only niggle so far is doing the crosswords, we did one together and we filled in what we thought were the answers but the game wouldn't move on or tell us which word we got wrong, 'hints' kept flashing but none were available - Don't quite understand that bit. I'm sad now though coz they have gone away for the wk end and took the game so I cant play on it.Roll on Sunday. If anyone knows what to do bout thecrosswords game I would love to know the answer.;O)

This is an excellent value for money game and will take quite a while to finish. However, I do have three problems within the Crosswords section in Challenge Mode if anyone can help, I would be very grateful as I would like to finish every game.Game 217 - 12 Down and 19 Across. Checked with dictionary and Roget's to no avail. Maybe I've made a mistake but others have also done it and came up with the same solution.Game 538 - 8 Down. Same as above.Game 473 - I've gone through this one loads of times, others have also done it, but when it's completed you don't get a tick.Just the hint flashes, but that's not really any help.If anyone can help,I would be extremely grateful. Many thanks in advance.

This is a great game - there are plenty of puzzles in a variety of styles from wordsearch to sudoku, linkapix, crosswords... and more. When you complete games in the challenge setting you get a bonus round like hangman or jigsaws and then can spin a wheel on screen to score points. The wheel looks like something from wheel of fortune. You can spend any points you've collected when you get stuck on a puzzle (some are hard). Once you've completed enough games in challenge mode, it unlocks games in the master mode. You can set up more than one player profile too. This game is so much fun and quite addictive - I've completed all the challenge and master mode linkapix puzzles twice!

I'm so glad that there was a follow up to the last game - More great puzzles, including new versions, especially enjoying the new Backwards and Piecewords puzzles, along with the very addictive 'Colour in' bonus game! Another excellent feature is that the game now remembers your last state of play so you can come back to your last puzzle without having to restart. Also, a great addition is the master mode where new puzzles are unlocked as you work through the challenge mode to reveal harder puzzles - Just played a massive, but very addictive 'Link a pix' puzzle. Well, that's enougth need to get back to playing now!! Kx

I cannot say enough good things about this game, I simply love it. It's far too addictive for it's own good. A definite improvement on the previous instalment in the Puzzler series, I like the added feature of achievements and the prize wheel. The games are all fun and challenging, definitely challenging. I wish there were less sudoku but that's only because I hate sudoku! The only thing I would change about this game is bringing back the "free play" from the previous game, it has been replaced by an area providing more challenging versions of the puzzles which you have to unlock as you play through the game.

I got given this one for Christmas and it is superb. It is a step up from the previous Puzzler offering as it gets rid of a lot of the tedious activity experienced on the previous games, i.e. re keying. The handwriting recognition is much better and a lot less frustrating (even though it still won't recognise 5's very well) so puzzles are easier to complete. I still wish there was a pause or a save button on games that would allow you to go back to some of the trickier ones later, having saved you current position.Overall a great game for puzzle addicts and lets hope there is more to come from this stable.

18.10.2010

I have the Puzzler World game as well for the DS & so I got Puzzler World 2011 as well for the DS which is slightly better than the Puzzler World as there are a few more puzzles to do, plus as you play the games you are awarded trophies for completing so many puzzles, get more tokens for hints on puzzles you are not good at. The only down side to the new one is that you can't practice the puzzles you are not good at first before doing them in challenge mode, but otherwise this is a great game if you love doing puzzle games & would recommened it to any puzzle fanatics to play on the DS.

I PURCHASED THIS GAME A WEEK OR SO AGO, AS I LIKE TO KEEP MY BRAIN ACTIVE(71 YEARS YOUNG) AND GAMES LIKE THESE HELP.I LOVE ALL THE GAMES, WORDSEARCH, THE CROSSWORDS, LINK-A-PIX, SILHOUETTE, ALL OF THEM. THE ONLY ONE I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH IS BACKWORDS, I CAN FILL IN ALL THE ANSWERS, AND THEN I AM LOST, CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN, I HAVE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BUT AM STILL AT A LOSS, MUST BE AN AGE THING. ANYWAY, I LOVE THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF THE PACK, AND AM ENJOYING IT IMMENSELY. WILL BE LOOKING OUT FOR THE NEXT ONE. THANKS AMAZON, AND THE FREE POSTAGE HELPS ENORMOUSLY.
