Having owned WSC Real 09, I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I bought this game. Ok, snooker is snooker, and there is only so much improvement that can be made to an already good simulation of the sport. At best, I was hoping for a complete overhaul, at worst, just an update of the 09 version. What you get is something in-between, and it's not all good.I'll start with the improvements. Graphically, the game has been given a fresh new look. The balls reflect more light, and look more realistic than the previous version. The 'in-game' presentation is more 'tv style' with a wider range of viewing angles for you to watch your opponent take his shot from. Unfortunately,John Virgo's cheesy comments are exactly the same as last time, and the audience sounds are repetitive even after playing just one frame. Gone are the pre-match introductions of the players (unless this kicks in during later rounds?) and the referee has also been taken out (the coloured balls just reappear on their spots as if by magic)But the biggest disappointment for me is the motion of the balls. In the 09 version, I think the developers had just about got the ball motion as accurate as possible (apart from the odd stutter in framerate) However, in this years version, they seem to have taken a step in the wrong direction. Hit a powerful shot, and in real life, the cueball will roll and come to a gradual stop, but in the game, it seems to slow down and stop unnaturally fast, and this, for me, shatters the whole illusion that you are playing a real game of snooker. At the end of the day, it's all about the balls on the table, and if they don't move with accuracy, then no matter how good the presentation and the graphics are, it can spoil the whole experience. To be fair though, I'm writing this review after playing a single frame, so these are my first impressions. Maybe further play, and I'll become accustomed to the unnatural movement of the balls? Or maybe they'll be able to tweak it through an update patch? I certainly wouldn't let it put me off buying the game, but if you own WSC 09, and you're thinking of trading it in for WSC 11, then I would at least ask if you can try it first, you might be disappointed.Just one other thing to add. There is an online update available already for this game, and I think it's to make the game 'Playstation Move' compatible. I assume that's what it is for as there is no 'Move' logo on the cover, and no reference to it in the manual either. To sum up then, it's a good game, and worth the purchase for owners of WSC 09 .... as long as you can tolerate the slightly inaccurate ball motion. If you can, try before you buy.EDIT: I've been playing for two days now, and I just wanted to add something that I didn't notice before, and something which greatly improves this years version over older versions. In previous versions, I never had a problem with using top spin or bottom spin, but I never used the side spin, because the aiming aid would always give an inaccurate guide as to the trajectory the cue ball would take. But in this latest version, I noticed that side spin is reflected in the aiming aid, allowing you to compensate for the swerve when you aim. So for people like me, who can't play the game without the aiming aids, this makes for a far more interesting game.I think the developers have 'overdone' it with the friction effects on the cueball. This is why the ball seems to stop rolling in an unrealistic manner, but seriously, after playing this for two days now, I've got used to it and it's only a minor complaint. Overall, the game does feel as if it's been 'rushed' to put together which is a pity. I hope some of the minor details can be improved in an update.

I like this game and still play quite a bit.If you like your snooker then this is the game for you and it also has pool if you want a change. When you update your players stats through winning games you can play some incredible shots and because there is a skip option you can play the game at a pace which suits you.I personally would have liked the option to play as one of the games players(unless I missed something or haven't unlocked it yet)But you can still enjoy the game playing as your own customised player. There are unlockables like cues and waistcoats to keep you interested plus attributes can be built up.The things I don't like are sometimes the commentary is repetitive and you don'thave the coach voice of the last edition to gee you up before games.I also don't like getting out of snookers sometimes because the aiming aid just has 1 angle off the cushion so you can't always hit or roll up to the balls you want.I would rate this game a 3 stars but because of the lack of other snooker games out there then I give it 4 stars.

This game is definetly the best snooker game out there at the moment and is worth picking up if you can find it cheap enough as its probably not worth the full price, let me explain why. Firstly there are a lot of audio glitches in this game, commentator really does get on your nerves (can be turned off) and the graphics of the players and audience are terrible. However if you just want to play snooker, which is what the games about, you instantly forget about these things and learn to enjoy the actual game with its fantastic physics (best seen in a snooker game), and fantastic graphics on the snooker balls. Much better than the previous game in this respect. Along side snooker is pool in pretty much all forms, there's 8 ball, 9 ball, rotation and billiards along with a few more.Overall if you like snooker, not overly fussed about graphics and audio, then you might aswell pick it up as it truly is THE best snooker game currently available, roll on WSC Real 12 if they ever do one.

I have had quite few snooker games on ps2, wii, and this is by far the best graphics are brilliant through hdmi but we expect that. the gameplay is fab and more real then any other version ive played. Thought something would have been done bout the aweful commetary by john virgo/parrot as same old there is a few different comments they make. you dont get see ref though and the colors always seem to appear if by magic. the crowd are lot better with there boos etc, i also like the create your own character which they have made a lot of improvements which makes it better. the controls are easy to use once you get the hang which buttons do what, i was winning matches straight away.the ball movement is excellent in all this is a must buy for any snooker fan out there.

I have played the 07 and 09 versions of this, it's one of those games where you'll only really enjoy it if you are in to snooker anyway. It's not like most other games where there's a bewildering amount of levels and 'stuff' to unlock. For me, the game play as been improved a great deal from the 09 version. I see a lot of reviews saying it's now too easy to win but they seem to be missing the point that the now much more accurate aiming aids can be switched off if you want more of a challenge. Unfortunately once again, they still have the John Virgo babble going on which does get irritating. The level of intricacy in the game is a really welcome addition in this version.

I bought this game as it was PS3 move compatible, but was extremely disappointed to see the version sent to me is old version(which is ofcourse not Mve compatible). Couldnt take time out to go through lengthy process of returning game etc so just kept it. Nonetheless game is great, enjoyed playing it but experience could have been better.

Recommended for any Snooker fan, easy pick up and play controls andgood realistic graphics and presentation. The gameplay is good with shots running smoothlyand you can save matches to relive any 147 or near pot or any classic game! Also very witty and funny commentary by John Virgo.

Great ps3 game surreal graphics and pin point perfect accuracy in the shots in comparison the WSC 2007. John Virgo is still commentating and its all been copied from the 2007 game. But there is more trophys and competitions to be played and great trickshot tasks. I would recommend

Its a good game, that'll keep you amused for a while. But I don't play the games that often, so I haven't had a chance to get bored with it. As I probably would if I was to play it for a long timer. But if you like snooker, you'll have fun with it. Just as I do

Perfect and realistic simulation of Snooker. Ronnie has been and still is the best player. The game is not easy but challenging in the right way. If you love watching Snooker on TV you must love this game.
