I bought COD Advanced Warfare as I've put hundreds of ours into Battlefield 4 and was wanting to play something with smaller maps and a more infantry vs. infantry gameplay.I've been a fan of COD online ever since my first session of Modern Warfare and I think MW3 is the best yet, a hairs breadth better than MW2 (which has better maps). But I've not liked the Black Ops games or Ghosts as they've added nothing to the series. The problem with COD is two fold, 1st of all they perfected the series at MW3, they balanced out the gameplay, levelling system, kill streaks and weapons to a point where it couldn't be bettered. They really did perfect it and everything since has been a slight tweak (making it worse)to the MW3 formula. The 2nd problem is that Activision have 2 studios working full time to produce a game every winter, this is just diluting the series into a yearly cash cow and this latest entry is no acception. I've put about 20 hours into the XB1 online multiplayer and it's now time to write about it.With the addition of the double jump the maps have truly been transformed into 3D arenas, this is by far the most severe addition to the COD formula and totally re-invents the traditional COD experience. Beforehand a successful player relied on a few basic disciplines:- Knowing the Map layout- Knowing the environmental advantages- Equipping the best weapon for the situation- A general awareness of what's going on around them- Choosing when to fight and when to runThe addition of the Exo-suit makes the player super mobile with the double jump and boost ability, you now have to master this before you can even think about being successful at the game. The suit also means the previous basic COD skill sets that you'd need are now hugely amplified as the mobility and possible attacks of the player has gone off the scale. It's kinda hard to explain fully but to be successful at the game you really must be aware of what the Exo-suit enables the other players to do. The big bonus the mobility the suits give is that they virtually eliminate camping, I've experienced some players trying to camp only for me to totally out manoeuvre them using the exo-suits speed and agility. The main problems with the game are the same problems COD has always suffered with. Only my 4th game in and there's a lag switch cheater spoiling the entire online experience, reported to MS but still today a week later the person is lag switching their way through matches. The general server lag is atrocious, having played BF4 on the PC with the privately hired servers going back to XB Live really shows just how far behind MS's server infrastructure is, in one match I counted 10 shots being fired only for my killcam to show I fired 3, it's this type of lag that ruins COD, it's not as if it's my internet as I have a Sky fibre optic connection. Lastly is the COD rage kids, yes the pre game lobbies are still full of racist little kids shouting abuse... Unfortunately this is now the main target audience for this game.So far it's a good online experience but it pales in comparison to MW2 and MW3. It is the best COD is a long time and the suits are revolutionary, but there are problems that really ruin the game and considering you're paying MS a premium to play consoles online you'd expect them to at least police their own servers and have the infrastructure to have low lag games.I'd recommend buying it, be prepared for a few laggy games.

Story! The story itself is well created with the player playing as Jack Mitchell, well trained and equipped with the most advance exo skeletons from the leading technology company Atlas, Jack must fight fire with fire with a the main baddy only known as Hades! But no all is what it seems! The story is greatly designed with twists and turns at every corner with new enemies to encounter, new guns to experiment with and while your doing all that you feel like a total bad ass!Gameplay! We all know that the call of duty franchise has been dragging its feet for the past couple of years, and last years entry was no exception one of the worst Ghosts, But with the release of Advance Warfare.War Hammer games have done a great Job in re-creating the gameplay by giving the player an exo skeleton and throwing them into combat with new perks, guns, grenades and my favourite Exo Abilities, Exo abilities are new gadgets that allow the player to use their Exo skeleton to enhance their abilites in a number of ways, in the single player campaign these are chosen for the player but in muliplayer its a whole different story for example Cloak, hover, Speed stim, health stim ect! All in all the gameplay is spot on using the old Call of Duty and smacking on War Hammers new and improved gameplay, and a lot of improvements with the multiplayer with new perks and Exo abilities to use online! And a new function that is placed in muliplayer is the supply drop function which allows players to be rewarded randomly for playing online, players start of with simple guns and armour but with each supply drop who knows what you will get, from improved guns to cool looking armour and there is even rarity too, from enlisted, Professional and elite, Enlisted being the least rare to elite being the best! One major issue in the game is related to the games online connection, with Old school Call of Duty players, players used to host games and if that person had a bad connection it would worsen the game for all other players, and it hasn't disappeared in Advanced Warfare with the connection being extremely bad at times making it hard for players to even enjoy the game and this ruins the online factor by a lot!Graphics! The graphics and look of the game is fantastic, from the story to the multiplayer level design, Face features to drones, No mesh or texture issues, and by the look of it this is what next generation is all about! One word stunning!Sounds and Acting! With the sound being a big part in an FPS game and Advance Warfare has done an amazing Job with it from explosions to stepping on glass! The acting as well is right on the spot, with the actors being designed for the right characters and each character having their own persona and making you feel like you want to be friends with some, enemies with others and having trust issues with that one guy in the game, the acting is on the mark with the script and story telling!Summary! The Call of Duty franchise has finally earned our thanks for a great game! With Advance Warfare picking up the pace after Ghosts! And its great to see War Hammer doing a great Job with it too! Superb story, graphics and sound but lacking in some Gameplay elements the game gets a 7/10 would be higher but the multiplayer does let it down when it comes to experience! War Hammer does say though that they will be dealing with the connection issues as soon as possible!

Firstly, i begin with the multpilayer, as i know it will probably be the reason you buy this game. The game has nicer multilayer 'feel' to it, with the maps looking sharp, interesting and full of life, as opposed to the dark, dull maps of call of duty: ghosts. The addition of the 'exo suit' which allows you to jump and sprint and beyond human capacity definitely add a new, needed dimension to the game. This does mean however that the game is not a standard call of duty multi player game, and will require a new approach from the gamer. This is definitely a good thing, as the mechanic of this game differs from the repetitiveness of the last few cod's. there is a new ranked mode, but this is not nearly as good as 'league play' mode of black ops 2. Also, if you are a gamer who takes their KD ratio seriously, do not expect it to be as high this year, as it is easier to be killed. Lastly, don't expect to be as tranquil as a monk in a monastery while playing this, as with any other call of duty, you can get quickly frustrated and as many of you know (including myself) the game can turn into a controller chucking moment. overall the game-play is good, the guns are balanced, it is very fun and new while still having a call of duty touch to it, so i would give multiplayer a 4.75/5.The campaign is by far one of the best yet, and probably the only one where i have ever actually wanted to play another mission to find out what happens next, instead of forcing myself to complete the game just for the sake of getting my money's worth. The idea for the campaign (which is based on the actions of a multinational private military corporation) is for once plausible, and the addition of Kevin spacey is a nice touch. overall the campaign is 4.5/5Just a few downsides though, if your connection is not great, then you will definitely struggle and get frustrated at multilayer. Secondly, the 'exo-survival mode' is just another attempt to make a game mode as good as zombie mode, to make it clear, it is NOT as good as zombies by a long shot. So if you intend to buy the game with the expectation that this mode will be good, and it is all you want to play, then think again. Thirdly, as with every call of duty game, it is primarily about the multiplayer modes, and though the single player is good, it would not be worth buying just for that.

As expected, on day one... there are a bunch of idiots unfairly reviewing this game because it was late in the post, or they think it's fun to troll because they prefer Battlefield, or else maybe they weren't aware that games have to install for a bit before being able to play them.Anyway, having played the first few levels in the campaign and spent a few hours online on free-for-all, I feel like I should advise this is a very good game. Having just got an Xbox One the other day, this is my second game (1st game being Fifa 15.. Have also ordered Forza Horizon 2 and WWE 2K15).The graphics are outstanding and Kevin Spacey is in the campaign - need I say more? The ability to jump Halo-esque adds a completely new dynamic to the Call of Duty series.Online maps seem good, though I need a bit more practice with them so I know where I'm going.Currently, I run around like a headless chicken and hope for the best.I rarely partake in team matches. Just always preferred going into a battle on my own, not having to worry who is on my team and who is the enemy, but there are plenty of modes available for those interested. There is a high level of customization and as this is set in the future, it allows for some exciting innovations.I've not yet touched the co-op survival mode, but I hear it's fun.So, while this isn't an in-depth review from someone who's spent a lot of time on the game, I wanted to balance things out and advise that after spending the time I have with this game, I'm impressed and will look forward to playing more.I never played Ghosts, but COD4 and Black Ops were my favourites.Perhaps many people will not like this, because they prefer games like World at War, but hey... give it a go.Lots of hard work has gone into this one.

The four stars I've given with this review are solely down to the fact that with work and other commitments, I've only managed to clock up a few hours on the game, even after getting the day zero edition. The problem I have at the moment is that there are an awful lot of people slating this game, when it hasn't even been out 48 hours. Something similar happened with Destiny. People jumped on it, saying it was the biggest disappointment of the decade, didn't live up to the hype; Destiny is a game I thoroughly enjoyed and from what I've played, the same can be said for Advanced Warfare.I took a break from the CoD series last year and avoided Ghosts (quite luckily, judged from the common perception of it!)Having only played the multiplayer mode of AW, I can honestly say it's a triumph. People who like to camp won't like it. It is extremely fast paced, the use of boost jumps/speed strafes from the EXO suit provides a 3D feel to the fight which surpasses the recent CoD games. Weapons are varied and balanced, and can be customized to the players liking. Killstreaks and character appearance can also be customized. One of the best improvements is the loot system, which causes you to find random loot drops from killing players online, making reviewing the post match info (and the loot you found) much more exciting. There were a few server issues during my play time, but due to it being the day of release it wasnt surprising. I may write a more in depth review after my upcoming days off, by which point I'll have a better grasp of what the game is trying to do. The best advice I can give is give the game a chance before making your mind up about it!

Some could argue that the Call of Duty franchise has been struggling over the last few years, but this release seems to be a return to form for the so called dying franchise. So what's new?Players can look forward to a whole new blockbuster campaign which features the voice and motion capture talents of big Hollywood star Kevin Spacey, and up and coming star Troy Baker, who I suspect will soon become a household name if his career continues in this direction, many gamers will know him well as the voice of Joel in 2013's PlayStation exclusive The Last of Us and as the Joker in the criminally underrated Batman Arkham Origins. The campaign in the game is wholesome, and though it's length may be lacking ever so slightly it is still a solid gun blazing action thrill ride from start to finish. Multiplayer is tons of fun as the new Exo suits provide a much needed boost the online gameplay element of this release. If you don't enjoy using the Exo suit then don't panic, there is still an option for gamers to enjoy Call of Duty's "Classic" style of play. Players also have access to extensive customization of their online kit and I suspect more will become available to us as soon as the first DLC lands early next year.Overall I would consider this years release a solid improvement over last year's fun but dull Call of Duty Ghosts, and though I find the Exo suits a welcome addition to the Call of Duty franchise, there is always room for improvement and I suspect we will see that when Call of Duty Advanced Warfare 2 inevitably hits shelves in the next two to three years.

It's sad that so many people reviewing this game are either clearly Call of Duty fanboys or Battlefield fanboys as it makes it tough to know whether you should buy this game. So many 5 and 1-star reviews should really be deleted. I'm a fan of both series so I think I am in a good position to review...Simply put, it's one of the best Call of Duty games for quite some time. Far better than COD Ghosts and up there with Black Ops 2 - it certainly doesn't match Modern Warfare 2 but we have to remember that at the time, MW2 explored many new concepts that are now prerequisites rather than new and/or exciting. If you are curious about Call of Duty and want to try it out, this is THE version to get.Single player - One of the best single player campaigns for any shooter in quite a while. Better than Battlefield 4 (which was also great) but I felt more attachment to the cast of AW. Great voice acting and a sterling performance by Kevin Spacey.Multiplayer - Much better than Ghosts, Black Ops and MW3. The exosuits are a fantastic addition and really open up options that were impossible in earlier games. However, the issue with online lag can sometimes detract from the overall experience. A few other minor issues were noted - perks are largely useless and the supply drops are a wasted opportunity.Advanced Warfare is certainly worth a purchase - it is a return to glory for the series and is as good a game as Battlefield 4, but in different ways. However, I can't help think that some of the biggest problems I have were easily preventable...

As I’ve now completed the COD AW campaign and spent around 36 hours on the multiplayer I feel I can give my opinion on this game now. I had bought COD Ghost a few months ago and was sorely disappointed with this effort, both on the campaign and especially the “campers” heaven online multiplayer affair, so my hopes for COD AW were somewhat diminished.First of all the COD AW campaign is amazing, the graphics are the best I’ve seen on an Xbox One game and I have quite a few games thus far to compare it with. The graphics look like what I would expect from a PC version of this. If there was one complaint about the campaign is that the end is a bit of an anticlimax but as the other 99% of this is brilliant I will allow them this. The online multiplayer experience is also brilliant, most (not all) of the maps are amazing, both in the layout and graphical detail. As I’ve been playing Titanfall and Destiny I was used to using the jet pack assisted double jump feature when running around and springing up onto buildings or over or away from the enemy when under fire. This is such a nice addition to FPS games in general.I’m a big Battlefield fan for the multiplayer experience and a COD fan for their campaigns but I must admit they have really nailed this one on both fronts. The weapons sound great, the choice of gear and equipment looks great and the whole experience is excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this game to any FPS gamer as it’s just a lot of fun and looks like a real next gen game. 10/10 from me.

You will as others have noted found a Call of Duty game, however contrary to the common perception, this game is different. And if you are looking for a different COD game then you have found one.Overall short & to the point view for buyers that are undecided =CAMPAIGN - As all Call of Duty games, the Campaign is amazing and truly spectacular. It featurez large scale shoot outs and massive global takeovers etc.5/5Multiplayer - A MUCH better version of the beloved COD multiplayer mode than previous titles with the Metro stating that it is the best Multiplayer since Modern Warfare 2. My take is it is great fun and produces hours of excitement and the Exo suits are smoothly implemented in the gameplay.Note, also be aware that it is quite fast-paced therefore it may not suit all players but definately FPS players.4/5Exo Survival - Much a reminder of the Modern Warfare 3 Survival mode, and similar to Black Ops 2 mode zombies but without the 'hook' that kept players playing. Honestly, it is a failed attempt at combining 2 popular modes into one, yet in the end it cones short of reaching any expectations. I wouldn't worry much about this mode as it is not THAT much implemented into the game, and with the beloved 'Zombies' mode being released as DLC, it is only a matter of time.2/5PLEASE NOTE This is just a guide for buyers undecided on whether or not to buy the game, I merely state the facts for the benefit of those undecided to make a clear judgement of their own.

Call of duty Advanced Warfare is different from the rest in so many ways yet it manages to make me feel like Call of duty is back to its old roots in a good way. I was a big fan of COD 4 and MW2 but felt like the titles after lacked something and i did not partially enjoy them. This game however is defiantly a big step up.Campaign - Very good as always. Call of duty never fails in this department. A great story line with clever twists and turns as you could expect from a call of duty game. The fact that it is in the future made for some very interesting scenes which i enjoyed very much. There are also characters which you grow to love and hate which i love from call of duty games.Multiplayer - This is where i feel call of duty has gone back to its old roots.Exo movement changes the way call of duty plays and feels but makes for fast fun game play which i liked so much about call of duty 4 and MW2. The maps are great this year and work very well with Exo movement allowing you to go airborne. Guns feel great but i am yet to use them all which makes me determined to rank up. Another thing i love about multiplayer.Graphics - I feel a big step up from Ghosts in terms of graphics. Guns look and sound great, the scenery is very impressive and characters look detailed.Verdict - Game play which makes me want to keep coming back, graphics which look great, a thrilling campaign and an exciting Multiplayer give this game 5/5. A must play!

£55 is pushing it, I was buying these games along time ago during WaW, MW 1&2, but now, I've come to the stage where CoD Games have come to a point where it's not worth paying more now. I love shooting games, but I am starting to grow out of CoD as it's just constant releasing every year and it's getting boring. As I said before, It was good back in the days, knowing how fun it was.I am giving this a 4 star and 1- for because CoD and it's overpriced and over hype really. If you love CoD for the SP? I'd just go for the normal edition as this edition is mainly focused on MP. Online is really bad, it shows a bad example to younger people to get involved in how bad this game has become. It's the people who behave in a manner that gives CoD a bad name. The days when everyone enjoyed MP years ago are long gone.I personally would like to thank Amazon for bringing this on the day it was released. I received it at 9:30am.P.S. I personally think this will be the last game I would probably buy. I'll miss it, but these days when you feel excited to buy a game that has no effect on most people. These days are long gone and nothing more than hype really.I am not being biased or being a fanboy to other shooting games. So, please don't cause trouble over this review.Thank you.Charlie.

If your a fan of cod then you will love this it is a bit different to the franchise more futuristic and a lot faster. The graphics are amazing and the weopons on it are awesome. Single player campaign is very good with a deep story line. Don't be put of by the idiots that gave it one star you always get people who can't play the game. So they make out like its the games fault when really there just not that good. I even read one review of some moron given this a one star because his package was delivered to the wrong person. I can't see how that is the games fault. And another one saying it is a Titan fall rip off yet there is no robots in this which I am pretty sure that is what made the game.Clearly shows that numpty does not own this game he just wanted to slate it for some reason. Look it does not matter what I say or anyone else says about this game the only person that will know whether it is great or not is you. I just don't want you to be put off by people not knowing what there talking about. So if your in to first person shooters and your a big fan of the franchise then what are you waiting for give it a go. I promise this game will not disappoint ;)

I really like Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. Its the best one in my opinion since the Call of Duty Modern Warfare and MW2. They seem have gone back to the basic on what made Call of Duty great in the first place. The weapons defintely handle better, the sound effects are great and the campaign has some levels that remind me of the original which gives it a better feel than the overblown boring Ghosts. As for the difference between this and the PS4 version who cares anyway as the Xbox One looks great and my pc which is high spec only looks a bit better than this anyway, and i dont care what anyone says xbox live is far superior to Steam and PSN.Yes it has its faults but Call of Duty is the kind of game you can pick up for half an hour and have some fun.Its not and never will be the tactical Battlefield which I like playing but for different reasons. Now all they need to do is release World at War 2 next year and Call of Duty is back where it belongs

This is based solely on the online gameplay!!!Absolutely fantastic game. I am not a massive COD fan, but I do enjoy playing them every now and again. This is a fantastic sequel and one of the best COD games to date in my personal opinion. I enjoyed World at war, COD 4 Modern warfare, and Black ops the most, and this is miles better than most. The graphics are brilliant next to the rest of the games, and have seriously updated them. However, like many games being released nowadays, the graphics are substandard in comparison to next gen and developers don't seem to care about graphics on xbox 360 and PS3 anymore. The gameplay is really good and there are so many new features in this game compared to the previous ones.Jetpacks, laser guns, and the exo suit make gameplay fresh. If you love COD or have played any of the games before, you know what you're getting yourself into, so load those weapons, get on your exo suit and get online!

Only really tend to play the single player modes in most COD games, so can't really speak for the multiplayer aspects (imagine they'd be pretty interesting given the new exo abilities), but having (finally) just gotten around to finishing the campaign I can say that this has been a really enjoyable re-imagining of the COD experience. The story is engaging, the gameplay (although challenging) mixes the series' classic shooter elements with some nifty new abilities - the ability to move around the battlefield being an especially interesting new dynamic, and each level brings a new challenge and twist of the formula you learn as you go through the game.On top of that the graphics really are stunning and create an exceptionally immersive feel. It's by no means perfect, but I've had a lot of fun playing this (a very pleasant change to destiny's server nightmares!), and I wouldn't hesitate to give it a hearty recommendation.
