Alongside the Pure Avanti Flow wi-fi radio i still own, this is up there as another solid set. Whilst the sound is superb it doesn't quite match up to the 'volume' and acoustics of the Pure set, but does surpass all other units i have owned. If i have one gripe, and hence only 4 star rating, it is that you cannot bluetooth on the output side, i.e. to set of wireless headphones. Bit of a shame when you can bluetooth music into the set.The other downside (and only my opinion) is that the 3.5mm line out Jack is on the back of the set....a pain in the backside when it comes to plugging headphones in since the lead trails round the front to place headphones on your head!I would also have made the base of the radio heavier so that when you press the 'select' button with one finger the radio itself doesn't move. Sadly you need to hold the radio when pressing the select button. That said i cannot fault the tone of the radio or the amount of presets that can store your favourites. I love the design, the traditional feel and look (wood case and leather type strap) and have to say i prefer the ease of use over my Pure unit even though the sound is not quite as good as the Avanti flow.I do agree with others who comment on the connectivity side of things in that on several occasions it tells me there is no network when that is certainly not the case. Shutting down to almost re-boot / connect is not good.4 stars is a fair grade for me based on my Avanti Flow gaining 4.5 stars.

This is my 3rd Roberts radio so far. Initially I had the WM202, then the Stream 83i and now the Stream 94i. The current features are quite impressive especially when compared to the Stream 83i . I'm not sure if the recent change Wifi providers from vTuner is the reason, but the amount of buffering and "loading" problems I had with the 83i are a thing of the past. To be honest, it took me a little while to get used to the wood retro look, as I loved the glossy piano black surface. Now, I doubt I'd go back. Bluetooth connectivity is a great and much needed addition and works really well, however I would have preferred it to be both inbound as well as outbound (for Bluetooth headphones). It wasn't a biggie as I managed to bypass by using an external transmitter. Still, for a radio of this price & quality, it should have been a given. The display is very crisp and the new backlighting controls are a blessing. Finally after years of an almost "alien like" blue glow at night from the 83i, the 94i is a pleasure to have next to my bed. Sound quality is superb. The only negative aspect, and it could be purely personal, is the black cloth covering the speakers. While it looks and feels nice, it offers little or no protection to the speakers and has the potential of easily tearing and collecting dust. Not sure how easy it would be to replace. Overall, very very happy and would recommend.

After owning 2 Pure DAB radios for several years I almost made the 'mistake' of replacing them with something from the same manufacturer when looking for something for our narrowboat. However, during my extensive research the Roberts Stream 94i crept into my field of vision and eventually I saw the light. Now, I not only listen to DAB but also Spotify (free version), Youtube, Internet radio (especially useful in poor DAB signal areas), Podcasts and more. We even have it connected to the TV which has improved the horribly tinny sound immensely. The depth and quality of the sound is simply amazing for a 'portable’ radio and we have it connected to our 12v system (through a regulated adaptor bought elsewhere)so it's on all day long in one mode or another. It's not an insignificant price for a ‘radio’ but boy does it pay for itself in quality and adaptability, well worth the money! The one minor point that I’d make is that you can currently only use the Spotify Connect feature if you have a ‘paid for’ Spotify account, even though Spotify made ‘Connect’ available to free users a year ago! This required manufacturers to issue a firmware update to enable the feature for ‘free’ users but as yet, Roberts have not made an update available. That is a bit slack given the time scale and relatively minor change needed. Please get this sorted ASAP Roberts!

Bought this via online shopping, arrived today....real style...looks stunning....sounds just like 93i....but has subtle changes that are not obvious until hook up and loading....the first issue, which for me is a crucial one . Roberts have changed the colour on the screen, to scroll down/up the highlight is a pale blue which does not stand out very well ( the 93i is yellow on black, an ideal colour for partially sighted people.....)..the main menu no longer names the music source I e internet spotify fm dab....you need to know the symbols ..but for me the main issue is,I can't deal with the pale blue visually.....pity ....THIS IS A BRILL RADIO, I would say...BUY.......the sound is exceptional !!by the way...I do have the 93i....it is GREAT all rounder for me...………...can Roberts issue a software update to change colours on the 94i, I wonder....too much to hope for....?? but I say again....BUY this 94i radio !!! you will love the sound !Mickey

Had this a few months now and it's even better than I hoped. The sound is awesome, you can use the preset mini equaliser or save your own. It's remarkably easy to set up and use. The undok app(more about that later) is actually easier for tuning in stations/ podcasts / etc than using the radio itself. When you turn it on it gently ups the volume from low to the level you want or left it at last. It's great quality and nicely understated in design. The buttons are nice to press and everything feels solid. Now the potentially bad bit. The undok app means you can turn the radio on/off change stations using your mobile phone, in theory. The reality is that it's normally hit and miss.To negate the misses I reboot the radio at least once a day and this seems to work, usually. Apart from that highly recommended and I hope I have this radio for many many years!

My old stand-alone HiFi DAB receiver is dying. These are scarcely marketed any longer. The Roberts makes an almost perfect - and very economical - replacement, adding Internet radio and network streaming too. Sonically - played via a quality amp and speakers - it's certainly up to HiFi standards. It's not quite without 'issues' however.Used as a media player it tends to choke on FLAC files - to skip, occasionally suddenly to shut down altogether in mid-flight. Not all that often, but often enough to be a nuisance. Of course, this may be due to network or PC issues but whatever, the impression gained is that the 94i is happier with MP3s. With FLAC's the buffer always shows full, perhaps it sometimes overflows?Significantly perhaps, in this regard it does no better on ethernet than on WiFi. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Got this radio just after Christmas, instead of getting a smart speaker. Glad I did, The sound is really nice and rich for such a small portable (room-to-room) device, and it has so many other functions. It's a really good radio (although the DAB broadcasts aren't always great quality), but the huge range of internet radio, the easy to use bluetooth, and the great Spotfiy Connect function just make it sing. Interface is nice, remote is nice, almost all great! My only quibble is the UNDOK app. When it works it is fine (but a bit clunky looking). When it works. It's flaky, much more so than the radio itself. It mostly works for me, but if it fails it fails for ages. All the functionality is there without it,but it's the only thing I'd improve. Best radio/speaker I've ever had, hope it lasts!

Bought as a present for my wive. This Roberts 94i replaces a Audisse Shirudo i want to use in my workplace. I can compare the sound and ease of use of both radio's. The sound of the Roberts is better, but the Shirudo can play a lot harder whithout distortion. I love the interface of the 94i more because it is very straightforward. I've been using it as an internet radio (radio Swiss Classique) and as a DAB radio for whole days, playing loud and clear. Even no problems when connecting with bluetooth. I connected a Samsung S7, a Huawei P20 and a Samsung tab 5Se to the 94i whithout any issues. I hope we can use this Roberts radio for many years, because Brexit will make English gear to expensive for people in Europe.Very satisfied, just wanted a litlle bit more bass.

I've had this radio for well over a year and I love it, it sounds great and has loads of great features which all work brilliantly and are really intuitive and simple to use but there is a but... that being the optional battery pack (BP93I); it's junk. When fitted it partially blocks the bass speaker which has a noticeable effect on the sound quality, it last less than 3 hours on DAB and takes forever to recharge. Worse, while recharging it interferes with the radio reception so badly that only very strong stations can be received. Fortunately it is possible to plug the radio into a 12 volt power source so it is still possible to use this gorgeous radio out in the garden, just not with the ridiculous official battery pack

This was a Christmas present, and probably one of the best I've had. It's fantastic to be able to listen to DAB, but now I can also play my MP3 music collection which is stored on my PC, and I can listen to a multitude of Internet radio stations. The sound is just top notch, unbelievably crystal clear and vibrant. Two minor quibbles though. I use it as a bedside device, but bizarrely, when the Radio is turned on, there is no way of displaying the time in large digits - although this is possible when on Standby. This is a big bugbear, so I hope it's addressed in a firmware revision. Also, the display is too bright during the night, even though the Brightness is supposedly Off.Can this be reduced?

I've had the Stream 94i nearly a year, & am pleased with it, I've used most features but mainly use Internet radio to listen to Italian talk radio, & DAB for UK stations. Excellent sound, compact & easy to setup & use. Since the change from WiFiRadioFrontier as supplier, WiFi stability is much improved, with almost no dropouts. I assumed the occasional annoying instability was a radio issue as per some other reviews, but don't now believe this was the case, and that it was probably a WifiRadioFrontier issue. I hope the ability to locate/store favourites via computer browser is reinstated soon. All in all, can recommend the 94i and am glad I got it.

So nearly perfect. Great features, sounds great, plays and hooks up to everything you need - radio, DAB, internet read up, AUX, Bluetooth etc. My issue is that the internet radio doesn’t always play and says there is no ‘connection’ even though the WiFi is strong and stable. It’s very annoying when you want to listen to your favourite station. The other main issue is that the remote eats battery’s. I put a brand new good quality branded battery in and it lasts 1 week at best before it dies. There must be a problem there!?But it is a great radio and I love listening to music through it.

15.6.2020

Very good radio. Easy to set up (if you put in some time and follow the instructions) in less than an hour for all mode presets and Spotify connect. Sound is good (clear, with bass and stereo spread) for the size. I really like the podcast direct access function too. Would be 5* if there was a touch screen (for ease of use) but this is, in part, taken care of by using the UNDOK app - which I have found works very well despite some of the reviews on the App Store. Overall a really great radio.

5.6.2018

A very good radio, but there is no indication that a separate battery is needed in any of the advertisements which have I seen. I only found that out after trawling the instruction manual, which was then too late. The radio is already quite heavy enough and I object to having to buy an extra attachment, which will make it even heavier to lug down the garden. I have always bought Roberts radios and it was disappointing to find that the marketing of this one was misleading.

The acoustics on this are phenomenal for both radio and Bluetooth. Very easy to set up and sync with home network, lots of extra bits and pieces I haven't even explored yet. It looks classy and retro at the same time. I've withheld 1star just because my eyesight is pants and the buttons on the front are quite hard to see to choose the presets, but I suppose you'd get used to the layout quite quickly. Brilliant piece of kit - highly recommended.
