I spotted this very attractive device while looking for a replacement for my bedside clock which gave up the gohst. My requirement was a display that was visable at night without having to press buttons and was accurate (ideally radio controlled). I was not looking for a radio. Having used it for a frw weeks I am delighted and have eben used the radio on a couple of occasions. The sound is acceptable but not brilliant. Overall, a great product and outstanding value. Note: It is not radio controled but has a neat way of keeping time using a small back-up battery.

I bought this as a replacement for my much older alarm clock, took me a while to figure out how to use it as it was very different but it is easy to use once you get the hang of it, very good radio sound. The light from the clock display is readable without illuminating the room at night. The shape is a bit of a puzzler as it does take up some space and you need to access the back of it to change time settings etc whilst looking at the front to see the changes (which is a bit awkward for me).

I bought the cube so that I could see the time clearly across the bedroom without having to press any buttons. It was very easy to setup - plug it in and away it goes. I do not use the alarm/radio - so cant comment on that. There are three brightness settings so you can choose which one is best for you. I use the lowest setting in a dark room - the digits are a soft orange shade and are about 2cms tall. There is a colon between the hours and minutes but it does not flash. Perfect for me!

I love the design and functionality of this clock. Auto set-up makes start up a cinch and it's relatively easy to change too. I love the fact that with the lights off the time appears to hover in the air. The ability to dim the clock manually is good too (never got on with auto-dim myself). My only little gripe, is that the sound quality of the radio could be a bit better. It's lovely and clear but there's no power. That said this is a fault of the majority of clock radios so it's no big deal.

I bought this for a 14yr old girl, and she does like it because of its looks. It does the job of working as an alarm - she uses the setting where it comes on with the selected radio station. However, compared with other clock radios at this price, it isn’t as easy to use or as fully featured. For example, radio tuning is by a manual dial and you can’t store stations. Also the volume is controlled by a dial as well and it’s easy for it to get turned down by mistake (so the alarm is too quiet).

This is definitely one of the best purchases I've made in the last few months, especially as I'm not the best at getting up in the morning! It is miles better than waking up to the buzz of a normal alarm and keeps you awake making it much nicer waking up on a morning. I've only had one problem. Every now and then the radio wont be in tune (not sure how- I don't change it) so there wont be any noise when the alarm goes off. I've been testing on a night before bed to make sure it does go off.

The day prior to buying the Sony clock radio, I bought a Roberts radio 923/8495 from Argos. The sound quality was like that of a tin can, absolute rubbish. I returned this radio and got the Sony cube & it was so relaxing, that I would compare the sound to relaxing in a hot bath. The question I would pose is this! When you are going to buy a radio, how do you know what the quality of the sound is like? The same applies to a kettle, is it quiet or does it emit a sound like a jet engine.

Bought because the previous one I had, with green numerals, was way too bright at night. Choose this one specifically because of the calmer orange numerals and the ability to dim it myself. The radio quality is very good but the reception is disturbed by anything else electrical being switched on and very much dependant on where I am standing in the room. Might just be the reception in my particular room however. I don’t need the alarm function so can’t comment on that side of things.

Bought this clock radio as our last one stopped working and so far we have been very happy with it. It was fairly easy to set up, with plenty of instruction in the guide which was included. There are plenty of buttons to press, but this is a blessing as it doesn't mean you have to use the same button for multifunction's. The biggest plus for me though is the fact that when setting the alarm or time, you can go forward or backwards and don't have to go around again if you go to far!

I think this has had a price drop since I bought it, which makes it even better value for money. The black cube shape looks great on my bedside table, and the clear display is bright and easy to read. The FM radio is fine and the sound it outputs is surprisingly loud and decent quality. This device may lack some of the features of other more-expensive models available, i.e. no headphone socket, Bluetooth, USB cetc, but as a basic radio alarm I think it will be hard to beat.

Personally i believe this is the best looking digital clock in its price range. The time is clear, the brightness settings are useful and the alarm functions perfectly. However, the antenna for the radio is literally just a wire, this can look messy if not placed near a wall or not positioned correctly. The signal is also incredibly flakey and inconsistent. Please do not buy this clock if the radio function is important to you. It wasn't for me, so it was not a deal breaker.

It is essential to follow the instructions to set up and use because it is so different to my old radio alarm clock. I found it a bit difficullt, having set up 5 presets, to change from one to another. Once learned it is quite simple but feel it could have been made a a lot easier. Tuning was straightforward though I was unable to get one of my favourite stations on Internet as it is not available on FM. Still, after a few eeks usage I am very pleased with my purchase.

After buying two other clocks from Argos, one with blue digits and one with red digits, BOTH TOO BRIGHT AT NIGHT we bought the Sony Cube. This has a yellow/orange digital display which can be adjusted to 3 levels, the lowest level being just right at night. It is easy to set up, includes a back up battery plus the radio is of good quality. We are more than happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone. While it cost twice the others it is well worth it.

This was very easy to use and set up. The clock is clear to see with brightness setting available on 3 different modes. It does have a battery backup so if the power goes you need not have to reset the clock. The only thing that’s not great is if your trying to use the radio you need to move the aerial wire around to find a signal and then stick it to the wall, this would be improved considering the tech available nowadays. Apart from this it does what it says.

After 2 other clocks which were both far too loud and had to go back - this is just perfect. The display can be seen from a couple of metres away but isn't too bright to have a foot from my face. The alarm has a choice of alarm or radio. Opt for radio and it comes on at the volume you set it on. Opt for alarm and it starts in very quietly and gradually gets louder. So you heavy sleepers - no need to worry. It's very well made. Very pleased with this purchase!
