We bought the first one of these, as a replacement for a large CD clock radio, that had had it's day and now also looked much to large next to the bed. This radio / alarm, does the job very well and has the advantage of setting the alarm, to either a buzzer or radio sound. Two great additional advantages are, that you never need to set the clock, after a power cut - as it does it automatically. It also sets the correct time, immediately out of the box, by linking into a satellite - all done in 20 seconds! - excellent.Further, you can also set the alarm sound as being totally off - or have it come on every day - or come on only on days 1-5, leaving the week-ends silent - all without continual adjustments. With it's unclutterd and smart white looks, together wih the little advantages as outlined, overall, this is a really good buy!All in all a great purchase, so much so, that we ended up purchasing another two of them, for other members of the household.

I've been using this clock now for a couple of weeks and am delighted with it. Just plug it in and it sets itself. It's very easy to set the dual alarms and there's an excellent choice of options for everyday, weekends or both and you can choose the radio or buzzer. The latter is certainly loud enough to wake most people. Snooze is good, but you can only have 9 mins. 5 mins would be better, but that's a minor niggle. The radio sound is reasonable, there's a headphone socket, a back up battery for any power cuts and the auto sensor to dim the display works well so it's not too bright. All this for a small cost makes it a superb buy. It's got many more features than other bedside clocks that cost more and the unit itself is not too big either,so what's not to like. If you're in the market for a bedside clock, you would have to go a long way to beat this for features and value. You won't be disappointed. Well done Argos and thank you for the good service

This alarm clock radio has excellent features and is better than I was expecting.Build quality is good and quite classy looking. Readouts are in a soothing green. I like the auto dimmer: the room isn't bathed in a neon glow but it's just bright enough to still see it in a dark room.Setup was simple - I just switched it on at the wall and it set the correct date and time itself in seconds. Instructions quite easy to follow. Operation seems user-friendly. Plenty of options but not so many as to be confusing.I found the radio FM signal to be very good and clear. Volume dial is near the back on the right. Some people don't seem to like this but it means it's harder to knock and accidently turn it up.Putting my ear to it I could hear a slight hum,but couldn't hear this at about a foot away from it.2 sets of alarms means it can be set up for 2 people who get up at different times without it having to be reset.

Two things 'sold' me on this product: the dual alarm and the automatic dimmer.Auto time/date set on plugging in very good. I like the display whose large green characters on black are far more agreeable than a backlit screen with black figures; the excellent auto-dimmer can't be faulted. Sound quality is moderate for this type of product; a slightly larger speaker (even if it meant a larger case) would be welcome and put that quality up to 5 stars. Also I would like a few program presets but this isn't a great loss as I rarely change from Radio 4. The tuner control is quite sensitive but it locks on to selected FM programs quickly. The volume control is also slightly over-sensitive at low levels but I can deal with that..Strongly recommended.I searched up to almost twice the price and don't think I could have done better..

Bought this for the alarm function. It has dual alarms and can be easily switched when you need to change from time 1 or 2 or switch it off.My wife has trouble with the small buttons but gets there in the end.Would have liked the 'Alarm Off' button to have been a bit more distinctive instead of' 3rd from the left'.The radio is useful although not very good quality sound and reception where we live is a bit iffy.Has a good large display that automatically dims at night so is not too bright. It's supposed to keep the time right for life, but when I got it the time was wrong, admittedly only by a couple of minutes. I corrected it after a few hours and it is still correct after a few weeks. It is supposed to receive a radio signal for the time but it didn't work for me.

Dead easy to set up. Take it out of the box and plug it in, then watch the clock set itself. Adjust time if needed with simple controls. Note, however, that the clock is not a radio-controlled clock. It is factory set in advance and keeps time prior to purchase by means of a long-life inbuilt battery. That's why there are controls to adjust the time if necessary. Since setting it up, the clock has kept very good time and takes summer/winter times and leap years into account.Just one gripe: The radio is rather tinny which is surprising for Roberts who normally produce good quality radios. However,in every other respect it can be plugged in and forgotten about - it just does its job right down to an easy to set alarm and an automatic numeral dimmer.

I love this clock - I have had a few over the years and none beat this one. I wanted a clock with an upright digital display so I could see it easily as my bedside cabinet is taller than my bed - now all I do is just open my eyes to see the clear display. The display dims automatically when you turn off the light, there are 2 alarms - 1 for each person or 1 for weekends and 1 for weekdays - you can be wakened by the radio instead of these tedious buzzers (or the buzzer if you prefer!) and best of all it sets itself. Absolutely no complaints - great value for money

I purchased this as I need something with dual alarms and that was easy to see at night without being too bright. It is easy to use and the alarm is loud and can be a buzz or from the radio. The slanted angle of the display makes it easy to see in bed i.e from a lower angle. The only downside is the small buttons on top which you have to 'hit' to turn the alarm off. The snooze button is nice and big so why not have similar button to turn it off? However, this is still a worthwhile purchase with a lot of functions at a good price. I recommend it.

Bought this as a replacement to an older one that finally gave up the ghost. Was a bit dubious about it setting itself as the other one had let me down. But am very impressed, set the time within 3 seconds. Has a auto dimmer for night which is good. runs great and has the ability to have 2 alarms, and can leave it set on all the time without the alarms waking you at the weekend if you wish. Some people might find the buzzer for the alarm a little quiet, but is perfect for me. Would deffinately try as you can return it if you don't like it

This clock is amazing. You can set either alarm to either buzz or radio. It automatically keeps sets the time for you. But best of all, you can set the alarm to go off on certain days which means you dont have to worry about remembering to set the alarm before going to sleep! Since having the alarm, i have set it to go off from monday to friday and apart from stopping the buzzer, i dont need to touch it again! The radio is a little bit tinny but what do you expect for an alarm clock!I would definately recommend it.

This clock is brilliant. I owned a dual alarm clock years ago, and I've been looking for another one for a long time. This clock fits the bill. As soon as I plugged it in the display began spinning to the correct date and time, and it set itself automatically within a few seconds. The two alarms and the weekend settings are great. I don't have to keep remembering to switch the alarm off for Saturday and Sunday and back on again for Monday. The reception and tone of the radio is suberb. All round, a great purchase.

Bought as a birthday present for my brother, didn't have much to go on as was meant to be a surprise. Delighted with the functionality and spent the first hour turning on and off so that we could see it count up hours minutes days month and year, all from zero except year which starts at 2000 for obvious reasons! Really good alarm once you get used to the dial volume control - easily knocked during day but even easier managed in early morning when still sleepy! Battery backup useful in powercuts

We bought this clock after our formerly trusty clock, which was set to an automatic time signal, suddenly went haywire. We needed another immediately. This seemed the nearest equivalent; we'd had the other for at least 12 years. After we bought this one we discovered that the automtaic signal had been switched foff for some reason! When it was restored the old one worked as before... Never mind, we have put it in the spare room and continue to use the new one, which is fine, in our own bedroom.

I purchased this clock for a late 70 year old lady who lives in an area with frequent power cuts. Previously someone had to reset her clock, now with this clock it has auto time reset. The radio frequency AM and FM, is found by turning a wheel on the side of the clock. She's had the clock less than a week and it's reset the clock and alarm twice, it does also have a battery backup. My Aunt is over the moon with the purchase, so I would recommend to anyone who has trouble resetting their clock.

Good machine, sets itself when 1st plugged in! I found the alarm fiddly & long winded/complicated! In fact this machine has too much information! On the front, setting the alarm - days as well as time, radio station. Also the time face dims as the room gets darker, a hinderance more than a blessing! i want to see the time if I wake up in the middle of the night, not screw my tired eyes up further to work out what time it is!If you want all these things, its a great radio, if not, steer clear!
