I've been looking for a small portable radio for a while now to replace my old fm radio, having experienced dab a few months ago I've completely converted to digital radio! Much better and unbelievable amount of stations to choose from, I bought this radio as something I can use at home, in the garage or when we go on holidays, I used to use my phone for digital radio but found my data zipping away rather fast so thought a personal radio would be a cheaper option.Only had this radio for a few days and really impressed with it, Roberts were the only ones offering dab+ and a headphone socket for the price I wanted to pay,

we have had both a Play10 and a steam 83i for several years. Neither has given us a moment’s anxiety. However, we did order a good looking retro style model from another, allegedly high quality manufacturer. Reception was poor and we had the device replaced by the retailer. Six months on, the replacement has failed. No point in having it replaced, so it has been sent to the tip. We have ordered and received another play 10, which works as well as its long-installed predecessor. Obviously, I did not need to waste my time and money and should remained loyal to a reliable brand. Robert, of course.

I HAVE HAD A ROBERTS RADIO, THE EXPENSIVE RETRO MODEL, SINCE IT WAS GIVEN TO ME BY MY GODMOTHER OVER 60 YEARS AGO AND HAVE USED A ROBERTS PORTABLE EVER SINCE, INCLUDING THE YEARS WHEN I DIRECTED BBC RADIO PLAYS AND BECAME ITS HEAD OF RADIO DRAMA. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT YOU MAKE THE BEST PORTABLE RADIOS IN THE WORLD. WHEREVER I GO IT GOES AND THE QUALITY OF SOUND IS AS GOOD AS THE QUALITY OF THE SOUND IT RECEIVES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. I NOW HAVE THE SMALLEST PORTABLE FOR EARPHONE LISTENING. THE DAB IS EXCELLENT.

I was looking to replace a cheaper DAB radio which had given up the ghost, and wanted something that looked good, was easy to use, from a supplier with a good reputation and with good sound. This Roberts Play 10 meets all the criteria and the black version was £10 cheaper than the white one - no brainer!! There are only 6 presets, but this is not really a problem as it is easy to scroll to any other required stations. With mains cable or batteries it is perfect for me and I would recommend it

Meets my requirements. Attractive design in my opinion. I particularly like presets with a dedicated button each, and 3 is enough for me on DAB. Has all the basic features needed and shows good information, including signal strength. Reception is as good as any I've had. Mains or battery (4xAA) and battery use seems economic. Unit is fairly small, and the sound quality is good, if a little light. All in all, a good value radio. Only owned it a few weeks so I don't yet know about reliability.

Bought this for the garage but found it better than expected so it now sits in my BBQ shelter and the old radio has been demoted to garage.Instantly tuned into lots of stations, more than I could imagine, and it is easy to tune and set up. Also has FM but with a much better selection on DAB I have not bothered with FM. Sound quality is a little tinny, I know it is only a small radio but have a Roberts in the bathroom & thats ok, and a Roberts 93i in the lounge and that sounds superb.

Purchased this radio as a gift for an elderly relative. Great compact size and pleasing design. Works both on battery power (4 x AA) as well as on mains. Unfortunately I didn't thin of checking beforehand, but the country where the radio was gifted, does not have DAB broadcasting, so we were unable to take advantage of this (main) feature. It does however also have FM possibility so we were able to find the station that was required. You can also programme stations to (shortcut) buttons.

This lovely looking radio is small and compact. It has a great range of stations that are easily available. The set up was incredibly easy. It could do with having a few more options for the presets - it advertises as having 6 presets but you can only have 3 on DAB and 3 on FM which I don't think is enough. Another downside is the sound quality. Whilst it is clear and loud (when you want it loud) it does unfortunately have a very 'tinny' sound. But overall it's good value in my opinion.

This is a great radio. I listen to talk radio mostly and the sound quality is great from the mono speaker, and loud enough. Music is also good quality for casual use and very good stereo with headphones.. The design is good to hold in hand, being slightly curved.My one complaint is that they claim 6 pre-sets. But that is 3 in DAB and 3 in FM. You can't have 6 in DAB or 6in FM. A slightly misleading claim from Roberts (or Argos) hence 4 rather than 5 stars. Still a great radio.

This item replaced my 10 year old DAB radio which was beginning to look shabby and often couldn't find some stations during difficult weather systems. This unit shows how things have come on in the last 10 years. Very small but easy to set up and use. If you want to use it away from the mains you'll need a supply of AA batteries. I havn't tried this and don't plan to. Sound quality is excellent even though I'm on the edge of an area with dodgy reception. It looks good too.

I bought this for my mum, who is a bit deaf and sight impaired, to keep her company during her long days on her own. This stylish Dab radio has easy to use pre set stations and has reconnected her with the outside world giving her the chance to enjoy discussions, plays and the current news This radio is perfect for her needs as it is small, simple to use and she can take it from room to room . This Robert's radio is a very stylish, quality Dab Radio with a great sound.

Very pleased with this to use as a little portable radio. The sound is initially tinny, but after a few hours use, is much richer once the speaker has loosened up. I got 18 hours use with rechargeable batteries, and it comes with a mains adaptor too. You can check the time, but not permanently display it, also there are only 3 preset buttons, so 3 for FM and 3 for DAB. A nice little radio, and I’m very pleased, particularly as it’s very portable.

Lovely little radio. Solid build. Beautiful rich warming sound. Excellent clarity even on FM. Perfect size for my small bathroom windowsill.... fills the room and passage. Though not much bigger than the size of an old transistor radio it certainly packs a punch. Chose white to match decor. Natty and cute. Excellent value for money. So glad we chose it over larger similarly priced radios. Will last for years... Roberts never seem to let you down.

Always loved Radio especially BBC Radio 4.So bought this primarily to listen to talk radio.It's well made easy to use and well designed, I bought the black model and it looks great with silver well labelled controls and bright adjustable easy to read display.The sound quality is ok what you would expect at this price point. It can be powered from the mains via the supplied adaptor or by batteries 4 x AA.Aline all a great little portable DAB.

About three years ago purchased an expensive Pure DAB Radio for our kitchen , so difficult to set up and change stations. Then out of the blue stopped working . Never owned a Roberts radio before and heard they are a good quality product . Was not disappointed , a nice size , very easy to set up and programme in stations. Easy to change stations and good sound quality considering the size of the radio. I am delighted with the radio .
