This shoe has a moderate lug depth, perfect for long strolls in the grass or on concrete. I use my MOAB 2 mid boots for when I have a backpack - these are not sufficient for serious hiking with a pack, but thats not what they were designed for. But, they are awesome for 5-10 mile walks through parks. I love them for that. And, the Goretex works great, never had a wet sock in the rain - ever.Use them for what they were designed for, and you'll be happy. My pair had great quality construction, and with several hundred miles on them now, they continue to deliver.They fit exactly as I expected, no break in required - just as I expected from Merrell.

Really enjoying these shoes.Firstly the waterproofing is great. I'm out leading forest schools all day and they haven't leaked once. The grip is good on everything except smooth surfaces when wet. This makes going inside a bit tricky until the bottom is dry and smooth rock could be an issue. Thinking of the pyg and miners track in snowdon where rocks have been polished could be interesting but haven't experienced. They are great in muddy slopes where the tread can cut through.They are very light and comfy and feel like a trainer to me. Perfect for my needs

Having previously bought a pair of these whilst on holiday, at full price, I knew they were very comfortable and beneficial for me. I have arthritis in my big toes and have spent many hundreds of pounds trying to get comfortable footwear. These shoes are as good, or better than, anything else I’ve bought. To get them at nearly half price was too good an opportunity to miss, they arrived well ahead of schedule and are in perfect condition. I would happily buy again.

These are my second pair of this type of Merrell’s just different colour, my first pair are about 2 years old n Iv walked the guts out of em . As soon as u put the on u can feel the quality and comfort , no need to break them in , they fit like a glove .I walked over 50miles off the beaten track in north Wales within a few days of buying them , so if your looking for lightweight but strong and comfortable u really can’t go wrong with em ,

The trainer is great. Very light weight, and the sole thick enough to be comfy on gravel/stone tracks. I usually take a size 8 shoes, and an 8 1/2 in a running shoe. I went to the 8 1/2 and it is a great fit. 8 would have been too small. My feet slightly wide size of normal, so if you have wide feet I am not sure this is the shoe for you. I wore them for a couple of days to break them in - now they are very comfortable.

These are a great fit, offer good grip over various terrain. They don't look shabby when they're covered in dust (discovered this after going up the Pacaya volcano in Guatemala!). I hope they last as I really like them. I was wearing these in hot weather and they appear to be breathable as the Goretex would suggest. Not sure how I'm going to clean them yet other than maybe hosing them down so they don't shrink.

Bought these before a trip to Budapest for the formula one, I had sprained my ankle/foot the week before and wanted something I could easily get my foot into but would offer some support, did lots of walking around the circuit and city and there were ideal. I'm also planning to use them with caged stirrups while endurance (horse) riding.

I love Merrell Gore Tex Women's shoes and have tried the MQM Flex style before in a color not available from this site. If you know your size and are sure of the color you want, the prices at this site can not be beat. It does take about 10 days to receive you order (unless backordered) so know that going in.

Seems to be very comfortable on first impression. Light,good cushioning. I will need to get some insoles, but that is a problem with my feet, not the shoes....I have wide feet, and these are fine.The orange/grey ones look smart, so pleased with my purchase.Also they arrived earlier than expected.Thank you!

Comfortable and well made pair of shoes. The gore-tex does a great job and keeping your toes dry through wet grass. Just wish they fit closer to size. I'm usually a 9 but they're a smidge too short. At least they do half sizes for next time.

Very comfortable and well made 'everyday' shoe. Has all the support and qualities for lightweight, short walks, and hopefully (not tested yet) waterproofness. I like these!

I would like to say that these are the best walking shoes I have ever owned . The fit was perfect for me I have quite a wide foot .They have a good support for the foot
