A magnificent build, my son spent quite some time doing this one back when he was 7/8, a couple of years ago. This was one of the more challenging pieces he's built, he was extremely proud of his achievement.This particular one is good because its a 2 in 1 - An Ocean Exploration Ship of huge proportion and a Push Boat & Barge.The difficulty with this set is that the instruction pamphlet only details the creation of the ship.One then has to download the manual for the Push Boat online as a 274 page PDF file and then ask a young child to patiently use a laptop/tablet whilst constructing the additional vessel to avoid using an entire ream of paper printing it out. My son (12yrs) got this for Christmas. He made most of it himself, but I really enjoyed sitting in to help. All told it took him about 7hrs to make - spread out across 3 days. His review is.........."The trickiest things were that sometimes the angles in the instruction book did not make it clear to where you put chunks of the boat. The construction of the boat is really good - very sturdy. The helicopter and the submarine that came with it are fully functional and just as sturdy as the boat."

What a great project for the darker nights. Very well designed and easy to build explorer ship with excellent fine detail and extensive working mechanics. Probably 25 hours of build at a steady pace and now something for the kids to enjoy playing with. This ship is comparatively good value compared to the rest of the technics and I’m pleased to recommend it.

Good value for money for a lego kit, but the pieces are a bit different to "normal" lego. So much so that my son actually said "it's not lego" and I had to show him the logo on the box to prove it was!! The instructions start you building the helicopter and sub first, I was keen for him to crack on with the huge boat!

My 12yr old autistic son saved up for this and was ecstatic when it arrived. Overall this took him approx 10hrs to complete fully independently and I enjoyed the peace this gave me since Lego fully absorbs his attention and he’s lovely quiet when he’s doing it! It now has pride of place on the shelf in his room.

Very pleased with this item , not sure if i was a kid it would keep me entertained for long but goes with my collection so I'm pleased good price for product £64 if it was much more then I would have to justify the price overall easy build good instructions .

I'm 54 years old and am a re-born Lego fan. Their products never fail to entertain. This Ocean Explorer was fun to build and is in regular use by myself and any other "kid" that happens to be around. Recommended to all ages!

It is a lovely varied combination that can be individual projects thst make the whole. My 40 year old daughter now has Lego of her own having remembered that as a child my son would keep all the Lego !

My son really enjoyed building this boat. It's great to play with once made and well worth the effort. He is aged 7 and managed with only a little help, but has had a lot of practice with Lego models.

Exceptional quality as expected from Lego, hours of play. Despite the price of Lego products, the quality and durability makes it worth the cost. Our Lego-holic loves this set.

Lego at it’s best.My son who is a true lego fan loved this. He built it within a couple of hours and has since added and taken away as any self concerning lego builder should.

Hours of fun for the little ones, took my 6 yr old a week to build with his grandad but he had a great time doing it. "They used to build boats like these on the Clyde"

Bought for 6 year old.He found some bits difficult, as expected but he could build 80% of it himself. Decent kit, good quality and options of ways to build.

The finished model was larger than I expected which is a good thing. The mechanics for the crane are very well designed. Lots of playability.

Instructions are very easy to follow , model was better than expected with all the moving bits. Would recommend it well worth the money.
