This is the first Technic kit I've ever bought as I'm a born again AFOL in my 50s and the brand wasn't around when I was a kid. It was easy to build and if you like these kits it seems to be priced competitively. My grandson is my test pilot for the stuff I build and he's not that interested in the end result. That's not a fault of the kit it's just that it's not enough like a recognisable model to attract him.I doubt I'll buy another Technic kit because there are other themes that interest me much more. The main bonus was getting to know the various Technic pieces and building techniques which often form the structural core of some of the larger models.

This Lego BASH car is a great start for kids who are ready to take on the more technical variety of Lego. The Technic range includes electrics, gears, levers and pulleys etc so it is on the mechanical engineering side of the Lego range, aimed at 7 - 14 year olds.We think this racy black grey and car is a very good introduction to the range. It takes about 30 mins to put together if you are a Lego buff, then just pull back, release and race it until it crashes. Then a small "engine" component pops out. Our expert 6 year old Lego mad grandson found it great fun to do this again and again. There are other vehicles in the range, together they could make for hours of entertainment.

My 10-year-old niece gave this set 3.5 stars and gave me this review:This Technics set is a great Technics set for beginners the instruction are easy to follow and it is fun playing with it after. The only thing to improve on is the drawback mechanism, it is quite weak and you have to wheel it back quite far to get a good result. The point of a drawback mechanism is for fun and to add to that when it crashes a front bit is ment to come off but due to the lack of power the drawback mechanism it fails to come off. For lego's standard this a pretty poor set but all together it is fun to play with and it isn't the worst set you can buy.

Hubby ( yes you heard me hubby) couldnt wait to build this and basically tore it from my hands. Half an hour later he proudly held aloft his creation and demanded i praise him......... well thats how it felt anyway! An easie build than alot of other technic lego he owns but fun non the less. Maybe a good way in for those who have yet to go down the technic path. Good solid model and to legos usual standards. It lost a star as its not as technic as all the other sets he owns so should maybe be labelled as a beginner set.

Possibly the best money I have spent on a 'toy'.My 4.5 year old and i sat down to build the car (ok, i did most) and had a lovely time with that alone.Lego do a fantastic job with their instructions and it's great to introduce our family to them.After we built it, we spent a lot of the weekend and the following week playing with the car. We built jumps, smashed it off walls and the car has stood up well against our abuse. Great fun!

Nice easy build, looks great for children. My son wants the rest of the set, so ordered them as well. These are excellent to start your child on the more intricate Technic sets. The age range is just right and the instructions are good. This version you can let go and as long as it hits something the front engine falls off.Overall, this is a great set, looks the part and is affordable.

Super birthday present for our grandson’s 8th birthday. Only complaint was that he put it together far quicker than we imagined he would. He’s dyslexic so just worked it out from the illustrations. He enjoyed assembling it so much that he promptly pulled it apart and re-did it just for the fun. Thankfully it’s sturdy enough to reassemble over and over again.

A member of a small group, BASH could be bought with 42072 for racing together or using the two sets to build a combination vehicle. Both WHACK and BASH have a "motor " for pull back and release.The Amazon pictures show exactly what you're getting.I have combined this review and one for 42072 for further reading if you're interested.

This BASH set is one of the new Technic sets which I think is being aimed at younger Children to encourage them to progress onto the usual more complex Technic sets and this is a great introduction using lots of Technic parts but still keeping this as a relatively simple build. The sister set

This is a great little car. I got it for my 8 year old son with some Christmas vouchers and he says "It's great for playability, and the looks are great.".It was half hour build and it is very nice to have something that moves without any batteries. Good value for money for a Lego model.

Good soft intro to Technic - my boy of 6 enjoyed this with a little help from me. As it's designed for bashing it can take a good chucking around afterwards too, so top marks for fun and durability. Paid about £15 I think for this, so very good value - would not go above £20.

My nephew had it built in about 10 minutes. He loved it though. The good thing about these models is that they can be used with the other cars to make an even bigger one. I ended up buying 3. They are a good price and make a great gift for anyone who loves Lego!

I am really impressed with this one, we made it at Christmas and now into June and it’s still going strong. We’ve made make shift ramps and launched it across the living room. It has survived everything our 6 yr old has done to it (wish I was as sturdy!).

My 8 year old son loves Lego and absolutely loved this Technic set. He found it more challenging than the other Lego sets he has built and thoroughly enjoyed the build. He's now desperate for me to buy him a larger set.

slightly more complicated to put together than the usual Lego pieces but, as with all Lego models, the instructions are clear. (6 year old needed help building it but it does say 7-14). the pull back feature is cool!
