Overall, this set is amazing! When the images for the new Harry Potter sets were revealed, Hagrid's Hut definitely caught my eye. For starters, it is the first Hagrid's Hut that utilizes the "two hut" look which is seen in the movies. The rooms inside are spacious and do offer a good amount of space for the mini figures. A light brick (to illuminate the fireplace with the dragon egg) is included, which is great, since light bricks are pretty rare. One of my favorite parts of the hut, are the several objects that hang from the ceiling, a meat cleaver, a bucket, a whip, a spoon, and a gold frying pan. More gamekeeper equipment is provided in the bin by the door with a lantern, Hagrid's magical umbrella, and a shovel. There is also a desk with a candle and newspaper, a table with chairs and a teapot and an armchair. The minifigures are strong parts of the set. Walden McNair and Cornelius Fudge appear in mini figure form for the first time, I believe. Hagrid is included as well as Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Hermione is my favorite minifig as she wears the Time Turner. Buckbeak is also provided and looks spectacular and so is a pumpkin patch. The cons of the set are, that due to Hagrid's large form, he is unable to sit in any of the chairs or armchair. Also, where is Fang? (Hagrid's loyal dog) As far as I know, he has never been part of any sets, so it would have been nice to include him.

First off lets talk about the Light Brick. I had no idea what this was prior to purchasing this kit, turns out it is what it says, it is a clear brick with an LED bulb inside that is triggered by a switch mechanism. In the case of this kit it creates a light up effect in the fireplace so it looks like Norbert's unhatched egg is being warmed by the fire. We slid it on to a middle shelf that is quite dark and it does give quite a reasonable amount of illumination. The build is a little fiddly as there is a lot going on in each half of the hut but nothing too onerous. It was still a lot of fun to build. My favourite bit is actually Buckbeak chained in the Pumpkin Patch,it is not the most elaborate bit of the build but it is perhaps my favourite because it just looks so good. Buckbeak is partially articulated so you can help him fly away. The hut itself is locked in an open format. This is the only downside, I would have loved it if it swivelled together and then you opened it up but as the sides are not equal in dimensions it would need a major re-engineer to achieve this.Number Of Pieces: 496Approximate Price Per Piece: £0.10Build Time: 2 Hours

I wasn't planning to buy this the day it came out, but that evening I found myself walking into the Lego Shop and grabbing it happily. I was planning to buy Patronus, but the bf convinced me that Hagrid's was more of deal considering I could get the little free gift. And I had money on my members card. And there are no regrets.Hagrid's hut is so thoughtfullly designed; the little tools hanging from the ceiling, the dragon egg by the fire, and of course the light brick creating a warm glow. A few small pleasures was seeing the little Lego spoons, and Hermione's hair. And of course there's Buckbeak. It is far larger than I had thought, which was a nice surprise too.I'm struggling to find anything negative, but at a push I would have prefered (for the sake of play) if Hermione's time-turner was not painting on her body, but could be removed and given to someone else. But that's a tiny thing. Like Hogwarts Parts 1 and 2 (I don't have the new Part 3 yet. Perhaps for Xmas considering its Yule Ball theme?) whenever I look at my Hagrid's hut, sitting in my spare room, I smile to myself a little, and proudly. Thanks!

This is the second set from the Lego Wizarding World 2019 releases that represents a scene from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It features six minifigures: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Rubeus Hagrid, Cornelius Fudge (the Minister of Magic), and Walden Macnair (the Executioner). Set 75947 has 496 pieces (including a light brick to illuminate the fireplace), but with a £49.99 price tag it's a little on the expensive side for the size of the completed model. However, the two rooms within Hagrid's hut have many intricate details and accessories, including a table with chairs, a writing desk, a storage chest, Hagrid's armchair, and several items hanging from the ceiling.Outside the hut, a lovely little model of the Hippogriff named Buckbeak stands chained to a post within a pumpkin patch, with several different sized pumpkins scattered around. Overall, a really nice stand-alone set which doesn't necessarily require further purchases to expand its entertainment value, and taking the cost into consideration, it just about balances out its value for money.

I don’t like insulting LEGO especially since I got this as a gift but...This is an unstable set I built this set the first time for someone else who couldn’t do it themselves, it fell apart as I was building it. Once it was complete it was much sturdier, But it was still a little unstable. Months later I got this set (a brand new one) as a gift it was better then last time but still unstable I pressed the peices down really hard. Usually LEGO says the beat thing to do is to rebuild it and see if that helps I rebuilt it but I had the same result it’s stable, but if one peice falls of the rest will break while your trying to repair it.Sorry for the long review. After it’s built it LOOKs really nice with excellent mini figz it’s great besides the unstable-ness.....I love the buckbeek figure he’s my favorite of all of them, this set is a great addition to my collection :) Thah Hagrid is nice too. Ppl complain about the price but c’mon! It has a Hagrid AND a Buckbeek! If I could I would rate this set 4.5 but I can’t. Thank you for your time

I absolutely love this set! Hagrid’s Hut is by far the most improved Harry Potter set for 4 reasons! 1. The hut actually has 2 parts! If you watch the movies you will notice that the hut has a larger main structure but a smaller little room on the side! I find this to be very iconic and was disappointed that LEGO had never captured this...until now! It was an eye opener seeing the press release for this set so I’m very pleased with the way the structure turned out! 2. There are exclusive never before seen mini-figs! In past sets we only have gotten a reused Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid. But in this one we not only get those But we get 2 completely new and perfectly executed minifigs (Fudge and the executioner)!3. Besides the Minifigs we also get a brand new 50 times more accurate buckbeak! I absolutely love this new mold and it perfectly captures buckbeaks body and nature! 4. We got a pumpkin patch! A completely unique and unnecessary addition but a very welcome one! Overall this is an amazing set and would recommend it to any Harry Potter fan!

I confess to being somewhat sceptical about this set on first opening, for as one reviewer has pointed out there are a LOT of pieces here of which the majority are small, fiddly and quite easily lost. That said after watching the kids (in rare ultra focused mode) take on this gargantuan task with gusto it's not hard to see why the company is still as strong as it was all those years ago when founded! One thing for sure though, the suggested age range (8+) is spot on as a great deal of concentration is needed to complete the set. That aside the presentation is as you'd expect the usual Lego quality and all the laser cut pieces slot together precisely as intended.Due to the fiddliness & sheer amount of pieces my original thoughts were 3 stars but after reflection,in an age where kids derive most of the entertainment from mobile phones, tablets etc it really is good to see a product that still requires hard core focus, effort and reward (eventually)! The price though is high and for that reason alone I'm deducting one star.

This set is one of my favourite LEGO Harry potter sets that I own. When the set came out I knew that I had to get it. It is responsible for giving me three of the “teen legs” I own. Harry and Ron’s hairpieces are the same as those of earlier Harry Potter sets from 2018, but Hermione’s hairpiece is new, the same one that was featured on Huntress™ in the DC Superhero CMFs. The set also includes Cornelius Fudge and Macnair for the first time ever in a Lego Set . The house has a lot of nice pieces, such as the light brick illuminating the fireplace. There is also a dragon egg in the fireplace, my second ever Lego egg, my other one coming in the Lego Harry Potter Hungarian Horntail set.I love the armchair in the main part of the hut. I also like Hagrid’s pink umbrella (it was my first one), and the bits and bobs hanging from the ceiling. I also do have a few cons: my first one is that it is quite hard to reach into the hut to grab some of the furniture out, such as the armchair. And lastly, WHERE IS FANG????????????

There are only two door stickers. And they do not fit the doors. They are too small and the hole for the knob stud way too big. Lego could have at least supplied four of these poor quality stickers so you could have the wood look in and out on both doors. The stickers for the 1x6 wood plank is too narrow. Oh well. Maybe most people just wont care about this. Love Buckbeak. However, it too was disappointing. Buckbeak is stationary and only the head moves. I think that Lego could have made the back legs of the body move like on the horses. I like the instruction for building the roof. Cool. But the one section will stick up until you press it down for the fireplace light. The fireplace light was also done well.Way cool pumpkin patch idea. I am OK with this set. Lego is getting more and more expensive and this is another example of where shortcuts were taken, when just a little more attention could have made it a great small set instead of just an average small set.

Love this magical hut!! Hagrid is one of my FAVORITE characters and this set not only opens up a whole new world (I swear that song is from Rapunzel NOT Aladdin) but also comes with countless wonders. I adore the many pieces hanging from his roof. Buckbeak is my FAVORITE OF THE WHOLE SET!! Ok, sorry, I got carried away. Buckbeak is amazing. He actually can get attached to the post without you needing to go through much work. I love to pretend Harry Hermione and Ron are turning back time, and I am able to act out the whole scene with the addition of two other sets ( clock tower and Dementors. Eeesh the one with Sirius sorry). Love this set!!!!!! (I really need to stop saying that). The hardest part of building this was the roof parts but I think that’s on me. I lost the egg in the fireplace and had to borrow one from my brother. Love this set…Ack, sorry!!

We are big fans of lego and also of Harry Potter, so this set is right up our street. My youngest is currently powering through the books at a rate of knots and is completely hooked, so the latest HP lego sets came at the perfect time for us. I must confess though that this set was purchased for me (though I might let the kids play with it or at least admire it ?) and I am part way through building it. It has been a really enjoyable build so far and I'm loving the little details. My favourite feature is the light brick. I'm impressed with how you activate it by pressing on the chimney, which in turn lights up the fire and casts a warm glow on the dragon's egg! This is one of my favourite HP lego sets and no doubt we will end up buying them all!

So grateful LEGO is releasing new and improved (in terms of aesthetics) versions of the Harry Potter sets! Only had the chance to start collecting from HP 2018 onwards. Loved the lit up fireplace, the dragon egg by the fireplace, the choice of brick pieces to create the objects as close to the original as possible. Loved Buckbeak and the new pumpkin moulds. Loved how the hut is constructed. Would have been awesome if Hagrid's bed was included, but understandably its too huge a build to be included in this set. So glad I have Hagrid's Hut now! Hope there will be a release of Diagon Alley too (Olivanders, Zonko's Joke Shop, weasleys wizard wheezes, Gringotts etc)

I love the detail in this Harry-Potter set. The characters and accessories have been lego-morphed of course, but will be immediately recognisable to anyone familiar with the Harry Potter books and/or films. It is a wonderful detailed set, that is a challenge to put together, but rewarding as an activity and result. I do not mind the complexity as older kids will be more engaged this way. I do not recommend for kids below 9 years of age however. The one problem that I see is the price. As a branded/themed set it is more expensive than alternative legos of similar size. But, you pay a premium for your favourite characters.

I've been building for well over a decade, so this was a very easy build, but it still held up.Minifigs were all good, it's a little annoying how harry Ron and Hermione pop up in every set (I have over 6 of each now), It would be nice to get new ones rather than just redundant repeats with slight changes. Buckbeak is FANTASTIC and a huge improvement over the old version.Build is fairly sturdy but won't hold up to roughhousing, not a good choice for younger children. Decent deal and playability, interior access is an improvement over earlier versions.Overall decent and a must-have for Hogwarts collections.

I have just compared the three lego Harry Potter sets - Hungarian Horntail(currently £29.99), Night Bus (currently (£34.99) and Hagrid's Hut (currently £49.99).Although this is the most expensive of the three, it's not my favourite. It's imaginatively designed and looks nice but rather fiddly with lots of little accessories which is disappointing if you like the the construction side of Lego. I give it 4 stars but I think that's generous if you take into account the price. As an aside, an expert on the Harry Potter movies informs me that this set is identical to one released round about 2003 / 2004.
