Lego has to be my son’s favourite toy and he had a great day of fun making this playset. Although called City Airport Passenger Terminal Construction Set, the centre piece of this set is the plane. The set includes 6 minifigures; including a pilot, three airport workers and two passengers. The plan is really very large – 19cm high, 47cm long and 50cm wide. It does have a lot of large pieces – for example, the front ‘nose’ piece and the tail are single pieces, plus there are three large pieces that make the roof of the plane. However, although this can affect the fun of building the plane (making it a little easy) it does mean that play value is increased. There is a door that swings open to enter the plane, but you can lift off the nose cone to reveal the pilot (and co-pilot’s) sets and the large roof pieces reveal the interior of the plane – complete with a place for the air steward to sit, two rows of seats and a small toilet area. Outside, there is a fuel inlet, which fits the hose on the fuel trailer and doors to store luggage inside. The Airport Terminal is a façade, which has a little bus stop outside, a revolving door to enter the airport and then a small area inside which doubles as luggage check in and security. This features a conveyor belt you can move and the roof has a control tower. You also get three small suitcases and there is a mug, so your control tower worker can have his coffee.Lastly, there is a service car. You can attach a luggage trailer, the fuel trailer and mobile stairs, which allow your passengers to climb up to the plane using this. The pieces can be used in whichever order you want, and, of course, you can just attach one if you prefer. The stairs fit neatly against the plane door and, as you expect from Lego, everything fits perfectly. The instruction booklets are also really easy to follow and the pieces are well packaged.Any niggles that I have about this set are minor ones. The interior of the plane loses space due to two parts that go across the floor (they are necessary for the wings, but it does mean your characters have less leg room!). Some of the pieces are, as I have said, quite large. That makes the build fairly easy in places, but the set is large enough that there is plenty of building fun elsewhere. Also, it does help the play value to be able to easily see inside the plane. I would also have liked more figures – however, there is enough to have a pilot, one driving the vehicle, another at the security check in desk and one in the control tower, plus two passengers. Overall, really well made and great play value when built. The conveyor belt and revolving door will be sure to appeal to children and make the terminal as much fun as the plane.

Once upon a time there was a little boy, whose name was Boris Johnson. As he grew up he knew he wanted to be a politician, and his goal was set – to become Prime Minister. Joining the Conservative Party, this man waited for years until he saw what he thought was his opportunity. When Boris became Mayor of London he started to have another dream, one in which he saw he was destined to build an airport, one that would be remembered through the years, but alas everyone told him it was too expensive and impractical where he wanted to build it.With these dreams driving him on when our Prime Minister called for a Referendum on the EU he at last saw a chance to become not only the leader, but also build his airport. Alas he was foiled, not by an evil genius, but by himself. Deciding to help lead the Brexit campaign he thought he could get the top job, but despite people voting to leave most knew that Boris was really just out to stab his leader in the back and take over his job.All was not lost though, as Mr Johnson was offered a job, one that would test his incompetence to the full and that was being made Foreign Secretary. Alas for Boris his chance at being leader was not to be realised, and his airport has not come to be built, and knowing that we are a caring and compassionate nation perhaps we could help Boris Johnson with his latter dream. If we were to all put a penny into a fund we could buy him this airport starter kit, and if enough people were to put in money, we could even get him a proper fitting suit. So, what could we give Mr Johnson with this Lego airport starter set? You get four minifigures here, one being female, which will certainly light up Boris’s face. So there is a female and male postal worker here, a male airport worker, and a helicopter pilot. You get a helicopter for the pilot and a fuel barrel to help keep the copter in the sky. Along with this is a letter box, two handcarts to move things around, and a place on the helicopter to carry the post, and letter pieces. You also get two of those handheld lights that are used to guide helicopters into land and take off, and a wrench. As you can see this is great for children and Mr Johnson, who could use this as the starter set for his own airport, Boris International.

We love Lego in this house and have a fairly big collection as, over the years, it has featured heavily on Birthday and Christmas lists. This set is not the best we have tried but still was fun to make over an hour or two and it has a lot of play value once made. It's a good set but has rather a lot of large pieces in it which makes for a less satisfying make and, in my opinion, also makes it seem slightly less good value than some other sets - the pieces can only be used really to make this set. That said, there is a lot of play value to the terminal and plane. There is a working luggage loader and little suitcases - the conveyor belt has to be the most original Lego piece ever! There's also a revolving door and a door and removable roof for the 'plane. You get 5 mini figures so plenty of scope (and seats!) for the minifigures - and you can of course add any figures you already have to the set for even more play.As I'd expect the set comes bagged and with clear instructions and the suggested age range is spot on - my 12 year old enjoyed making it but could have managed when younger. Some of the previously mentioned "big bits" are surprisingly harder to build with than smaller bricks - she got a bit frustrated when they were a bit wobbly but managed to build it all fine.4 stars - purely as having big bits makes it a quicker build and also I just can't see it being taken apart and built time and time again like some of our better sets are; with both points in mind it's quite expensive, but would make a great gift for a lego fan.

I remember some 25ish years ago my very first Lego set was a plane and airport, which kept me amused for ages and fuelled a passion for loads more Lego over my childhood.Receiving this Lego Airport and Plane really brought back memories which I enjoyed sharing with my boy. First thing to note is this is a sizeable box which in turn makes up a substantial plane (19cm high, 47cm long and 50cm wide) and supporting terminal building. There are a few larger pieces on the plane which makes it easier for the younger age group and I suppose it takes away from the frustration of them coming apart all the time when playing with it.The instructions as always with Lego are super easy to follow so give even the youngest of children great satisfaction when they show parents their finished model. There is loads of space in the place so you can make use of the six mini figures provided, or just fill the plane with figures you might already have. The airport build has some nice features, including conveyor belt for luggage, revolving entrance door, terminal bus stop….etc. There is also the addition a fuel trailer, luggage trailer and stair trailer pulled by a mini truck. My boy is 10 now and found this set really easy to construct, I’d probably aim this to a 6-8 age group.Overall this set seems like good value, not just because of its size but also because it offers good interaction and playability. As a kid if I got this for Christmas I’d be over the moon :)

Really pleased with this Lego set. The set has two main parts - the plane and terminal building - both of which are a very good size, and a good fun build. The plane is a good build - there are 2 pieces in it that are bigger moulded pieces - the wings and the cockpit area of the plane. Would've maybe been nice to try and and have the wings being put together in a build rather than a single piece. The cockpit makes sense, as it's nice to be able to quickly remove so the pilot can be changed. The inside of the plane is nice and spacious - space for a 3 rows of 2 seats wide inside the main body of the plane, and space for pilot and co-pilot up front. The terminal is also excellent - a good size, and some lovely pieces - I really like the blueish hue of the main terminal windows, and the control tower window. As well as the two main pieces, there are extras, a great wee luggage train, and a refuelling tanker. Having these, combined with things like the luggage belt within the control tower, gives very good playability of the set.In summary - a great set - you get a good amount of lego for your money, it's a good fun build, and fun to play with once built. Highly recommended.

This is certainly a fun set and will hopefully make children think about the different ways that cargo is transported not only around a country, but throughout the world. Here we get a great little cargo plane, but of course extras as well. The pane itself has a ramp at the rear for packages to be placed in, nice big jet engines on the wings and a cockpit for the pilot.Of course as this is Lego this isn’t all that you get. There are two figures here, the pilot and a person to bring the packages to the plane and load them. The worker has one of those electric carts to drive out to the plane, and this can carry packages, of which you get four to make up.There is also a walkie talkie and a handcart to wheel the packages to the rear of the plane. This is a nice and sturdy set and is sure to get lots of use as things are transported back and forth from different destinations. Not too difficult to put together, most children should be able to do the build by themselves.

I was a little disappointed when I first bought this item, because the functionality is limited. The passenger’s shoes cannot be removed. Then, I placed a deadly fingernail file underneath the passenger’s hair, and neither the detector doorway nor the security wand picked it up. That’s the worst security ever!. But it turned out to be okay, because when the passenger got on the Lego B757 and tried to hijack it, she was mobbed by a couple of other heroic passengers, who only sustained minor injuries in the scuffle, which were treated at the Lego Hospital. The best thing about this product is that it teaches kids about the realities of living in a high-surveillence society.I now want to purchase the Lego Police Station. I’ve heard that the CC TV cameras on that thing are pretty worthless in terms of quality and motion detection, so I think I’ll get the Lego Prison Island instead (it comes with a cute little balloon).

My son loves this Lego set! He has always loved planes and he has the old City Airport set, so we were eager to test this new updated version. It took him (aged 10) a couple of hours to build this set. He told me that it is better than the old version because the plane doesn't fall apart so much (I used to hear all these screams and shouts when he played with the old set, when the plane disintegrated in mid-play!), and he thought that the see-through revolving door of the airport was "so cool".A really good set, I'm sure that my son will get lots of play from this, like he does with all his Lego sets (he builds them, plays with them for a few days and then my husband dismantles it all and puts it away, and a few months later my son will 'rediscover' each set and make it again, and this goes on the same way for years!)

Bought for my 10yr old nephew, he loved it. Made me build most of it, but he loved it.It's not a complicated build, but the plane itself is genuinely big. But as a model, it is a mixed bag. It has some great details, like winglets and a toilet, but then doesn't have a hinged roof for easy access. The centre fuselage is made from bricks, but the nose, tail and wings are single pre-moulded pieces. So it's an odd mix for me, but then I'm an adult who enjoys the build, whereas my nephew is a child who enjoys the play... and this plane is great for the wow play factor. The terminal is cool too, with revolving doors, a baggage conveyor belt, and a ATC control room. There is a pilot, an engineer,a check-in dude and some passengers... but no one to operate the control tower. Like I said, some slightly odd choices.

This is a very affordable 'Starter Set'. The fact that it comes with 4 minifigs is pretty impressive for the price I think. There are also some nice accessory items for the minifigs as you can see on the pictures. Having said that, the helicopter model is pretty basic. My son has a couple of helicopters of this size and this is easily the least impressive looking of all of them. Lego make some specific parts for the 'skids' and rotors, but this just uses plain bricks and plates for those instead, presumably to keep cost down. The result is a model that isn't as sturdy as some and wouldn't look out of place in a late 1980's lego set. But, for the money we paid, the excitement my son had at seeing the box and the amount he enjoyed the build and the model - it was very much worth it. Recommend.

Lego has gotten very sophisticated since I was young. Even the sets you could buy were suggestive more than anything else. This isn't the most exciting themed lego set you could get, but my word you get a lot for your money. I've just spent the past few hours happily building up the set, enjoying the tactility of the experience and appreciating, all these years since my childhood, the love and attention that goes into the pack. It's a huge box that produces a huge plane, and that plane is supported by a mini-village of vehicles and depots. It's just great, and while I can't justify spending a lot of time playing with lego at my age, I still think it's one of the greatest, most engaging, and most meaningfully educational toys you can put in front of a child.

This is designed for ages 6-12 so I gave it to my grandchildren (9 and 12) who found it well within their capabilities, especially with the larger pieces as mentioned by other reviewers. They were able to construct the set within half a day. They were delighted with the finished product, particularly the luggage loader and conveyor belt with suitcases, and the fact that the roof of the plane is removable allowing easy access to the seats and passengers inside. As with other Lego products it is beautifully designed and once created it provides a very interactive play item. You can't go wrong with these Lego sets really - my children loved Lego when they were little and my grandchildren enjoy it just as much.A great addition to their collection.

Brilliant set. This is currently being very much enjoyed by two young boys visiting England on holiday from Germany. They love it, especially after all the excitement of travelling in by plane themselves recently. The aeroplane itself is pretty big and has provided hours of fun in itself. The rest is great fun to play with too, One of the boys is more interested in investigating all the little pieces and what they do whilst the older boy seems to prefer more free form expression racing around the house "flying" the aeroplane. It's great!

Another great build from LEGO. Bought this for my son at Christmas. I ended up doing most of the build of course (absolutely no complaints there). It took around an hour and a half to complete. Very well built, of course, everything just worked as it does with this brand. Somewhat expensive but got it at a discount price. The hanger is large enough to fit each of the aircraft, not together. Usual comprehensive instruction manual and labeled bags that correspond to parts and models. Great fun and many hours of fun had with it since.

Got this while it was £50 instead of £75, as a lover of planes already and a Lego newbie it was a logical step to get this. The two fighter jets look cool and the Biplane is a fun build. The hangar is mainly plates and some technic parts but it has a nice Grey and Orange theme like the biplane. The little Runway cart is your average 'quad bike or mini car' sized build with stickers for details. Mine came with a spare fire hose, spare aviator's goggles and some studs.
