I was really excited to receive the Karcher WD 5, as I am a huge fan of Karcher products generally. I have had the WD 5 for about six weeks now so I feel I know it well enough to write a review of it's functions so far.The instructions are quite basic but to be honest it's pretty self-explanatory to put together. It can be used around the house as a regular vacuum cleaner, it's fairly light (yet stable thanks to it's fifth wheel) and easy to manoeuvre and it picks up dirt and dust perfectly.We used it in the garden as a leaf blower, it's adequate but not as powerful as a our purpose built leaf blower which is probably to be expected.I am not a huge fan of the extension wand.It didn't feel particularly solid so I felt I needed to wedge it together a bit more robustly which then made it difficult to pull apart. However, overall this is such a minor complaint that it certainly would not put me off recommending the WD 5That's the negatives over and they are all very minor negatives but where this machine completely comes in to it's own is in our garden!! It's a game changer! We have recently had a new patio laid and the WD 5 made very light work of picking up all the debris from the works. We now regularly hoover our patio which is so much easier and creates less dust that sweeping. It has a very tank large capacity for its size and the filter bag is tough enough to take small debris.We also have a tarmacked front drive which constantly breaks up into little crumbly gravel pieces which are a nuisance to sweep - now we just hoover, it's so much easier. I would buy the WD5 for this alone.It is great for sucking up water too! It's straightforward to pick up spills and because of it's large capacity it can hold about 30 litres.The filter is quick and easy to remove, the design feature means it is away from the dirt, which is another nice touch.Everything it cleverly stored on the machine which makes it easy to keep together once it's is packed away.All in all I thoroughly recommend the WD5 - if you have a workshop or warehouse you won't be disappointed. This is an industrial standard hoover which can be used as a super strong hoover, indoors and outdoors, for dry and wet and also for blowing dust and leaves. It is fairly large but surprisingly not hard to move around due to the wheels!Pros:- Modular unit: all the filters are easily accessible and removable- Very easy to put together using instructions, and easily understood- Blow function is great for blowing out dust from the rear of radiators or cracks, and for herding leaves in the Autumn- Easy to change between both functions, just change the port the pipe attaches to- Has a handy filter cleaning function to make it easier to purge of detritus, using its'own suction and a lever on the top of the vacuum unit- The water vacuum function is simple to switch: just remove the filter bag and switch the function on the floor attachment. The vacuum has a safeguard for overfilling (25lt) so damage is easily avoided (this is mentioned in the instructions)- Even though it doesn't clean carpets, we used stain remover on our short pile carpet and hoovered up excess dirt and wet residue, and it cleaned it fairly wellCons:- As it stands, this unit is not great for carpet hoovering, the floor attachment is for hard floors and water vacuuming, so isn't ideal for deep pile carpets- It is not an actual carpet cleaner, it can suck water up from carpets, but does not spray and suck water back up from the carpet like shampooers- Does not come with a carpet attachment, although these are available from Amazon as wellAll in all this hoover is pretty darn impressive. It is really large so bear this in mind for storage but it really does the job. We're in the process of sorting out the shed and are looking forward to hoovering up the mud and debris with this. Highly recommended - especially if you have a lot of hardwood floors or short pile carpets!

Delivered by a courier and signed for this came as is in the original Karcher box no Amazon packaging present .Inside the box is the base unit the hose , a filter and some dry vacuum bags , along with a smaller adapted solid hose attachment.I will only be using this as a dry vacuum and this review is based on my observations while using it .There are 2 main good points with this Vacuum , the size of the container which can hold 25 litres of dust or fluid , and the filter system .Because of the 1100 watt motor the suction power of this Karcher is quite astounding .We have just finished renovating upstairs in our old Victorian property and there was a lot of excess plaster dust left on the floors .The Karcher made very light work of that !And unlike my Dyson the filter captured everything so no blow back dust which is a definite bonus .The hose is long enough to deal with most areas with the exception of the highest ceilings .I love Karcher it's products to me scream quality in their build as well as their use . I'm very happy to recommend this WD5 wet and dry Vacuum .

The karcher WD5 is a compact multipurpose wet and dry cleaner, all the tools and hoses are carried and stored on the main body, this makes it ideal for storing away after use.It is reasonably easy to operate, but you may need to keep the instruction manual handy for a while until you become familiar with the various tools and operations it can perform. The transition from standard vacuum to liquid is reasonably easy, just remember to read the instructions and remove the bag first. When using it as a wet vacuum, there is a handy built in float stop system that stops you overfilling the unit, obviously with vacuuming water up the unit will become heavy, so, even though it has wheels,judge for yourself the weight of it before lifting or carrying any distances while full of liquid. Overall this is typical of Karcher, very well designed, well constructed and a tough, rugged piece of kit that will give you years of service if used properly. If you do manage to lose or damage any of the accessories, the items or parts can be purchased separately.

Bought this hoover to use in the garden and garden. It hasn't got there yet. I've used the hoover inside - admittedly some of the house is very dusty but the hoover (using the oft brush nozzle) has sucked it up completely. No residue left on surfaces and no dust in the air. The handle is a little awkward for carrying up and down stairs as the body of the hoover tends to swing away so that the handle doe not hold it upright. However, the hose is long enough to reach up to the ceiling to get to all surfaces (walls/curtains/ceiling itself). The wire isn't long enough to go from one room to another so that has meant either using an extension lead or moving the lead from room to room.We bought the extra car cleaning kit and the extra nozzles on this make it worth while. It does the job and does it powerfully. Hope it stays as powerful.

I can’t believe it how kärcher has come up with this very simple vacuum cleaner that also sucks up water. I have 2 machines one for water and one for dust that I replace every year. This replaces them, both time, space and money. From 2 machines to 1. Not only that, the maintenance on this machine is so low compared to the other machines I have. !!UNBELIEVABLE!! Also the price is so so cheap and the quality is so HIGH. It’s like as if there giving away for nothing. My friend has a domestic one which he uses for commercial, not intended but it’s still going 2.5years. AMAZING. Easy to move. Take less space. Small and compact. The main reason for ordering this was to pick up leaves in the garden, and it does this very well. We were concerned reading other reviews about the potential of leaves being stuck in the pipe. We have some of this, but it has not been too bad. The cleaner is also very good for cleaning out the car.My only criticism relates to the poor instructions. You are provided with a sheet with pictures, and it took us some time to work out that to open the unit one has to pull the top handle fully forward. Luckily Youtube came to the rescue, but it would have been nice if Karcher could have provided better instructions.

I bought this for general purpose vacuuming in and around the garage, and also to use in my dog grooming area, which can get quite puddly on the floor, as well as all the trimmed fur. I haven’t tried the wet function yet, but the dry vacuum works a treat, is very powerful and efficient and the garage/groom room has never looked so fresh. The motor is much quieter than my old, cheap vacuum, and it is lighter to lift and wheels around the floor very smoothly. Although I haven’t tried the wet function, nor the self-clean filter function, so far I am feeling that it’s good value for money.

I received this WD5 this week and found the assembly pretty easy, apart from trapping the main wire, which was easily corrected. Having now tried this a fair amount I have found it to be a versatile and powerful machine.Simple to operate once having a brief look at the instructions (male look) only dis appointment was the extension pipes which feel flimsy, although they are not and the brush head which was easy to drag back on carpet but, I found, not so easy to push. All in all a nice easy to use powerful tool and I would recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Whilst not really a domestic cleaner, it's really good for cleaning up after DIY tasks, etc. Very powerful, flexible, with useful accessories. I don't know how it will perform longer term, cleaning filters etc, but the initial impressions are very good. One slight issue, having watched a YouTube video describing its features, was that there is another version which allows direct use of dust extraction tools, such as sanders. I might not have selected this version, but it would have been nice to have had the option.

I have been looking for a vacuum cleaner for the car and all outdoor jobs. I already own a pressure washer from Karcher, so it was obvious where I had to look. Key factors for me are its robustly constructed its simple to utilise and it has been cleverly put together so that all the attachments and any additional which can be purchased are located on the vacuum cleaner to hand. Vacuumed the interior of my car and I’m blown away how good the suction is and how easy it is to clean after.

I purchased the WD5 about a month ago. The first time I used it I just tried the leaf blower which was ok but not that strong and also it didn’t move small twigs much but that was fine as it made them easier to collect once the leaves had been blown. I have since used the vacuum and both the hose and the brush. I do have a very large area however the container never reaches capacity despite spending 2.5 hours hovering round my patio area. The machine is super easy to clean

I looked at strong hoover for a while to replace my broken vaccum but I couldn't see any that I thought they can be used for multiple purposes. In the end I went for the Karcher W5. The company delivery was promt and the machine arrived just on time to use, as I had some DIY work in progress. I tested it and it was great at it. The down side is that it has one speed, and a heavy to move about but I suppose it may take awhile to get used to it.

Bought as a replacement for my ancient VAX vacuum which had finally ceased to operate properly. I chose the Karcher WD5 being impressed by the good reviews it had.It is a powerful machine with good tools and, the tools holder on the body is a bonus. Easy to operate and clean, assembly instructions easy to follow.Have not had opportunity to test the blower thingy but, it will be. Looks good in the garage beside my Karcher pressure washer.

This machine does exactly what it says! Wet / dry cleaning at its best . It is truly the only hoover I have used that can remove English Pointer dog hairs from my car! Outside it just sucks up everything. It is so easy to clean out and has an easy clean filter that you can remove each time at the pull of a button. I truly can’t recommend this hoover enough.
