I rented one of these units from Home Depot when I was refinishing my hardwood floors. After sanding, no matter how well I could sweep, this vacuum left the bare wood visibly clean as could be. The new finish went on without a speck. This vacuum’s exhaust air is high up, and relatively benign compared to the suction it produces (it REALLY sucks! That’s GOOD!) so it did not aerate the dust on the floor not yet vacuumed. Also, the narrow nozzle fits easily between the sections of my old radiators, between the seats of the car, etc., and with the included wide fitting does a great job of cleaning my vintage Persian rugs with suction alone - no “beats and eats” rollers to produce premature wear here!
